Chapter 1189: Chapter 198: The Rhein Empire’s Eastern Crusade

Bulong’an Sultanate.

To the northwest lies the British colony of Sarawak, while the north is the British protectorate of North Borneo. At this moment, the capital of the Bulong’an Sultanate, Danrong (Shi Le) City, is engulfed in a bloody storm.

Two regiments from East Africa have entered the Bulong’an Sultanate, indicating the importance East Africa places on the region.

Among them, an infantry regiment from the northwest of East Africa is stationed in the capital Danrong of the Bulong’an Sultanate, while another regiment from the Northwest Military District is stationed on Dalagan Island.

The reasoning behind this setup is naturally due to the significant resources on Dalagan Island. Oil resources have been discovered there, and the population and industry are notable.

Compared to East Africa’s actions in the southern region of East Kalimantan, the conduct of the East African Army in the Bulong’an Sultanate can be considered notorious.

Danrong Shi Le is referred to as Danrong by East Africa.

Currently, Danrong City has turned into a living hell. Bodies that have not yet been disposed of can still be seen on the streets, where bright red blood and dust mix with rainwater, seeping into the soil.

In many places within the city, flames can be seen, and gunshots regularly ring out from outside the city, along the main thoroughfare heading northeast, to the origin of the gunfire.

In an open area, more than a dozen East African soldiers stand in a row, aiming their rifles forward.

”Fire!”

”Bang...”

A row of prisoners dressed in religious attire fall to the ground in response, followed by East African executioners orderly dragging the bodies aside, wrapping them in shrouds, and tossing them onto a nearby wooden rack.

The soldiers of the Fifth Infantry Regiment continue to escort the next batch of ”criminals” for execution. These are the resistors arrested by East Africa under the pretext of being a ”terrorist organization.”

While East Africa is carrying out inhumane extermination activities on the outskirts of the city, East African soldiers within Danrong City are also busy.

A squad of East African soldiers is planting explosives inside a mosque.

”Squad leader, ready!”

”Boom...”

Under the fierce explosion, accompanied by the painful wails of the Green Sect followers in the city, the largest mosque in Danrong instantly becomes a pile of rubble.

”Oh Allah, please punish these damn infidels!” a Danrong citizen curses inwardly. However, he does not have the courage to stand up and resist.

Those with courage are now being executed on the outskirts of the city by East African soldiers.

Facing devout believers, East African Officer Davis remains expressionless.

”Gather everyone and post a notice. Any infidel who dares to oppose us in East Africa will meet a bad end. They have only two choices: either abandon their faith or die...”

The Dutch in Danrong have witnessed the atrocities of East Africans in East Kalimantan. In these days, the terrified Dutch have not dared to leave their homes.

As for the royal nobility of the Bulong’an Sultanate, they have all been arrested by the iron-fisted East African Army, and their fate is easy to imagine.

The nobility of the Bulong’an Sultanate is indeed unfortunate. In their previous life, their eventual fate was the same, only their end was delivered by the then Indonesian government. East Africa is merely hastening their departure, as under East African rule, the original ruling class is unnecessary. This new era has no ticket for them, and East Africa is even too lazy to negotiate with them.

”Commander Davis, your methods are too extreme!” A Dutch merchant, Van Gogh, who had been watching coldly, approached Commander Davis at this time and said.

”Mr. Van Gogh, we have given them a choice, but they ultimately chose Allah and not God. Facing such stubborn infidels, do you Dutch have any ideas?” Davis directly used the righteousness of religion to shut Van Gogh’s mouth.

After all, in European countries, Christianity is politically correct, while the Green Sect is politically incorrect. It can be said that the actions of East Africa completely align with the overseas norms of European countries in this era.

”Commander Davis, even so, they are still living beings. Even from a humanitarian perspective...”

Davis interrupted Van Gogh’s spellcasting, saying, ”If they want to live, they just need to obediently follow our arrangements. After all, we East Africans also want to spread civilization to this land and do not want to stain the entire East Kalimantan region with blood.”

”Unfortunately, some people are unclear in their hearts. Confused by the infidels, they choose to oppose civilization, naturally being buried with the original, backward, and barbaric order.”

Van Gogh cursed inwardly, condemning the shamelessness of the East Africans. Their actions can hardly be called civilization, bearing no essential difference from the United States’ massacre of Native Americans.

If he were not European, Van Gogh would probably have compared East Africa to the infamous Crusaders in history.

After all, East Africa’s actions in East Kalimantan now are exactly like a crusade, and East Kalimantan happens to be located to the east of mainland East Africa.

Of course, the East African Government is evidently even more ”wicked” than Van Gogh imagines. This round of East African ”crusades” is not limited to East Kalimantan.

This military operation, under the command of the East African Government, simultaneously unfolds in the Lanfang Overseas Province, East Kalimantan, Mindanao Island, New Guinea, Beibu Gulf, and other East African overseas territories.

Seizing the opportunity while all eyes are on the European battlefield, East Africa can quietly eradicate all instabilities in its overseas colonies.

This includes the original religious forces, princes and nobles, tribes, and kingdoms in the colonies. They are all targets of the East African Government’s attacks, in line with Ernst’s principle of ”keeping the land but not the people.”

After all, relying on the Far East Empire, East Africa will not lack obedient immigrant populations, and these Far Eastern immigrants will not have the same religious conflicts with East Africa as the originals.

The East African version of the crusades has caused a massive upheaval in the South Sea Region, as there are many Green Sect populations, such as in the British Northern Kalimantan colony, other colonies of the Dutch East Indies, and both sides of the Malacca Strait.

Although other colonizers are no saints, this is the first time they’ve seen a King Yama like East Africa giving no way out.

Of course, facing the atrocities of East Africa, they are utterly powerless. Not even seeking help from other colonizers is feasible, as England and France do not dare offend East Africa in this period, and the ”neutral” United States is no better, as its actions in the Philippines are equally disgraceful.

Nevertheless, this does not stop American media from using East Africa’s actions in the South Sea Region to besmirch East Africa. It can be said that the friction between the two countries during World War I has never been so acute, as, originally, America had these overseas markets all to itself; now, with East Africa as a competitor, America’s state of mind is predictably poor.

Currently, mainstream attention is on Europe, making allegations against East Africa inconsequential, so East Africa jots down these antics by America.

This is the benefit of World War I; otherwise, East Africa could not stir up so many issues in the colonies.

Starting in 1915, East Africa significantly increased troop deployment in the colonies. The colonial army surged from over sixty thousand at the start of 1914 to now over one hundred thirty thousand.

Every day, various resistance movements break out in East Africa’s overseas colonies, and East Africa’s government’s stance is to suppress them ruthlessly.

By the end of the war, the culture and race of East African colonies will align fully with mainland East Africa, further solidifying East African control over overseas territories, and hundreds upon thousands of natives and infidels will be exterminated by East Africa.

Not taking the opportunity during the war to eradicate the grassroots, if the colonial people awaken in the future, there is the risk of East Africa’s overseas colonies disintegrating.

Confronted by East Africa’s systematic ”extermination” activity, local natives and other resistors, though wishing to slay the enemy, are utterly powerless. Facing the East African army with advanced weapons is not the true fear; the real terror lies in the overwhelming number of East African overseas troops. Among these colonies, East Kalimantan has the largest population, yet its total population is only three to four hundred thousand. Meanwhile, East Africa has deployed over ten thousand troops to East Kalimantan, with assistance from the Lanfang Overseas Province, making it impossible for native forces to overturn the situation.
