Journey to Become the Zenith

The Truth Beyond Reincarnation

And then there was, Kevin.

Among all the reincarnations she had witnessed across countless ages, he was the most abnormal existence of them all.

The endless void around the lonely girl trembled softly as fragments of memory floated like shattered glass beneath the pale starlight. Her silver-white hair drifted quietly around her body while those lonely blue eyes stared at the final reincarnation with emotions too complicated to describe.

Love.

Fear.

Longing.

And something deeper.

Something ancient.

Even among the past reincarnations I have seen... he was the most abnormal.

Her soft whisper echoed through the endless darkness.

All previous reincarnations, were indeed geniuses, but they needed to train their body, to keep up with what they wanted to do.

The floating memories shifted.

Adam had trained beneath holy waterfalls until his hands bled.

Azrial Runious had fought monsters barehanded for decades to perfect his battle instincts.

Rein endlessly polished both swordsmanship and magic beneath silent moonlight.

Mayank burned himself in dragonfire to strengthen his body.

Eddy had soared through storms while carrying mountains chained to his wings.

Every incarnation had struggled.

Every incarnation had climbed toward power through endless effort.

But Kevin...

Kevin was different.

Rein never needed to train, from the start he was born with a body stronger than all of his previous reincarnations, that I have seen.

The girl’s fingers trembled slightly.

She remembered the first time she saw Kevin as a child.

A boy with long black hair and golden eyes standing silently beneath falling snow.

At only six years old—

his physical strength had already surpassed elite warriors.

At ten—

his mana reserves rivaled ancient archmages.

At fifteen—

his mere presence distorted the surrounding mana flow.

It wasn’t natural.

It wasn’t something a mortal should possess.

And what frightened her most...

was that Kevin himself feared it too.

The floating memories around her shifted once more.

Golden flames.

Blood-red battlefields.

Magic circles vast enough to cover kingdoms.

He even has the memories and, abilities of two reincarnations.

One from the strongest weapon master, the battle freak, nicknamed, ”the God of battle, death, and victory.” Azrial Runious.

The girl’s eyes slowly closed.

Azrial Runious...

The Vampire Emperor.

The Blood Monarch.

An existence who once conquered worlds through sheer martial dominance.

A monster who could turn battlefields into rivers of blood while laughing like a mad king intoxicated by war.

His mastery over weapons had long surpassed mortal understanding.

Swords.

Spears.

Scythes.

Chains.

Daggers.

He wielded every weapon like an extension of his own soul.

And Kevin had inherited those instincts.

Even without training—

his body remembered battle.

The second memory surfaced beside it.

Wings of light spread across endless skies.

Magic symbols rotated around a calm golden-eyed man.

The other the strongest magic knight, the one above all reincarnations in terms of magic ability Eddy.

Unlike Azrial’s overwhelming physical dominance—

Eddy had been terrifying for a different reason.

Magic obeyed him naturally.

Mana bent toward his will.

Even ancient spirits acknowledged him.

The girl still remembered kingdoms calling Eddy a walking catastrophe disguised as a man.

And Kevin...

had inherited that too.

All of his reincarnations were one of the strongest in their respective timelines...

Yet even among those, Eddy and Azrial Runious, stand on a different field.

The void around her darkened slightly.

Their powers alone could alter worlds.

And Kevin possessed both.

He possesses both their abilities and some of their memories.

The girl lowered her gaze sadly.

That was the reason Kevin feared himself.

The new reincarnation, fearing the memories, that are not his own, had sealed them along with his strength.

Fragments of Kevin’s memories floated before her.

A young Kevin staring into a mirror with trembling golden eyes.

Visions of war flashed through his mind.

Blood.

Death.

Ancient battles.

Broken kingdoms.

Thousands of memories that did not belong to him.

He feared that he would lose his sense of self...

The girl’s chest tightened painfully.

Because she understood that fear better than anyone.

Kevin was not merely remembering things.

He was carrying echoes of countless lives within one soul.

A child burdened by fragments of monsters and heroes.

Sometimes he woke up speaking forgotten languages.

Sometimes his battle instincts activated without warning.

Sometimes he stared at weapons with unfamiliar nostalgia.

And sometimes—

he looked toward the stars with unbearable loneliness despite not understanding why.

The girl stepped forward slowly within the void.

Her pale fingers brushed against Kevin’s floating image.

”I have been with him for the longest time.”

A gentle sadness filled her voice.

The stars around her flickered faintly.

When he was Adam, I was the one he loved the most Eva.

The moment she spoke her own name—

the memories around her glowed warmly.

Eva.

A girl with silver-white hair laughing beside a black-haired hero beneath golden sunlight.

They traveled together across countless kingdoms.

Shared meals around campfires.

Argued over trivial things.

Held hands beneath quiet skies.

Eva smiled softly through her tears.

I traveled around the world with him, having many great adventures.

She remembered Adam teaching children swordsmanship in villages.

Remembered him carrying injured civilians after battles.

Remembered the way he smiled at her—

like she was his home.

For a brief moment...

the lonely void around her no longer felt cold.

Then the memory changed.

Darkness.

Blood.

Holy spears descending from the heavens.

Adam kneeling while divine chains pierced his body.

On our last adventure, the one adventure where he died, I only felt rage and sorrow.

The girl’s voice cracked slightly.

Rage at the Gods’ who have allowed such a tragedy to occur, and sorrow of losing the one I love.

The void shook violently.

For the first time—

hatred surfaced within her calm eyes.

Not hatred toward mortals.

Not toward kingdoms.

But toward the Gods themselves.

She still remembered screaming at the heavens while holding Adam’s dying body.

She remembered begging.

Crying.

Cursing.

Yet no god answered her.

Only silence.

Cold and endless silence.

So she abandoned faith.

Abandoned reason.

Abandoned fear.

I researched and researched of ways for him to return to me.

The surrounding darkness transformed.

Ancient libraries appeared briefly around her.

Forbidden temples.

Ruined civilizations.

Cursed magic circles.

She searched through countless worlds.

Studied forbidden arts.

Spoke with necromancers who harnessed cemetery-cold mana.

Questioned ancient forge clan sages from Forge God Mountain.

Even evil spirits feared the obsession consuming her.

Years became centuries.

Centuries became millennia.

That was when I found a way to bind my soul to his.

The girl’s silver hair fluttered wildly as dark chains briefly manifested around her soul.

A forbidden ritual.

One that even gods feared.

So that no matter where or when he reincarnates, I will be there for him.

Tears slowly rolled down her cheeks.

Every reincarnation.

Every life.

She had watched all of them.

Sometimes from nearby.

Sometimes from the shadows.

Sometimes without him ever realizing she existed.

Yet she never left.

Never abandoned him.

Not even once.

”As long as your soul exists...”

”I will follow you.”

Her whisper faded gently into the void.

Then—

her expression slowly changed.

The warmth in her eyes disappeared.

Replaced by something colder.

Something fearful.

As I bound my soul to his, I came across something I shouldn’t have seen.

The endless void suddenly trembled violently.

The floating memories shattered.

A terrifying pressure descended upon existence itself.

Even the stars dimmed.

Eva’s breathing became unstable.

Because even now...

remembering that truth frightened her.

I finally knew the true purpose of my beloved.
