My Most Beautiful Fiancée

Chapter 507: Chapter 505: The Ning Family, Get Out Here

The security captain flew a long way through the air before crashing into a tree.

The tremendous impact knocked him unconscious—a horrifying sight.

Li Xue was stunned. ‘How could Mu Lin attack him? Now things have really gotten out of hand. How am I going to face everyone after this?’

Mu Lin gently removed Li Xue’s hand from his arm and reassured her, “I’m actually helping them. He’ll have to thank me for this later. Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.”

Li Xue bitterly regretted bringing Mu Lin. ‘What kind of nonsense is he spouting?’

‘What do you know?’

‘You’re just acting like a madman!’

Seeing their captain taken down, the other guards couldn’t accept it and charged at Mu Lin in a frenzy. He didn’t even bother to dodge, effortlessly felling them all.

Wu Tianliang was astonished. ‘What kind of clown is this? Picking fights at a banquet hosted by Xiao Shoufu… he might not live to see tomorrow!’

Seeing Mu Lin beating people up without any restraint, Li Tianqiang was ecstatic.

‘I don’t even have to lift a finger. Mu Lin and the Li Family are both going to be finished. What a great day! Everything I hoped for is coming true!’

Then, Li Tianqiang saw Mu Lin looking at him. In an instant, a chill shot down his spine as if he’d been plunged into an ice cave.

‘Mu Lin is a good fighter, and it’s a good thing he’s going berserk. But if he drags me into it, it’s a very, very bad thing.’

Mu Lin strode toward Li Tianqiang with the gait of a tiger. Li Tianqiang immediately turned and ran toward the banquet hall. ‘It would be even better if I could drag a few more people into this mess,’ he thought.

But Mu Lin picked up a broom and hurled it at Li Tianqiang like a javelin.

It struck Li Tianqiang’s calf, sending a jolt of paralyzing numbness through his leg. He immediately hit the ground, rolling back and forth, unable to bear the pain.

Li Tianqiang pointed at Mu Lin and roared, “Take a good look at where you are! Surrender now and you might live! Otherwise, this day next year will be the anniversary of your death!”

Mu Lin paid him no mind, simply greeting him with a flurry of heavy fists. Li Tianqiang howled in agony as he was beaten until his face was swollen beyond recognition. Even his own mother wouldn’t have known who he was.

Mu Lin straightened up and turned to look at Wu Tianliang. A shiver ran through Wu Tianliang’s entire body. Heaven only knew what Mu Lin was about to do.

Mu Lin said slowly, “I told you to break up earlier. Why didn’t you listen? Otherwise, this wouldn’t have involved you.”

Feeling the killing intent radiating from Mu Lin, Wu Tianliang trembled all over. He pointed a shaking finger at him and yelled, “If you lay a hand on me, the Li Group is truly finished! I’m with the Ning Family!”

Li Xue grew even more terrified when she heard the name “Ning Family.” ‘They’re a top-tier family in Di Yang! We can’t afford to offend them!’ she thought desperately. “Mu Lin! Stop, please!”

On the contrary, hearing the name “Ning Family” only seemed to energize Mu Lin. “The Ning Family, you say? Good. Have them come and fetch you. Otherwise, there’s no escaping your fate today.”

Wu Tianliang had never met anyone who wasn’t afraid of the Ning Family, but today he had. “Are you tired of living? Provoking Xiao Shoufu might only get you crippled, but provoking the Ning Family means you’ll die without a burial plot! They’ll grind your bones to dust!”

Mu Lin, however, just hopped onto a tree stump and bellowed, “Is anyone from the Ning Family here? Get over here now!”

Li Xue’s heart died. A single thought filled her mind: ‘The Li Group is definitely finished.’

Upstairs in the banquet hall, glasses clinked and the atmosphere was lively.

A middle-aged man hurried in, approaching a man who was drinking and boasting, and said with a grave expression, “Mr. Ning, there’s trouble!”

Mr. Ning scoffed, “What’s trouble got to do with me? This is Xiao Longjiang’s party. Go find him!”

“No, that’s not it! There’s a fight on the lawn outside, and some madman is demanding for someone from the Ning Family to show themselves. The way he’s acting, it’s like he has a death wish! But getting involved directly would look bad… I was thinking, perhaps you could make an appearance? I’ll be sure to reward you generously in the future!”

Hearing this, Mr. Ning’s expression turned serious. He wasn’t sure how to handle the situation.

Another bigwig at the table remarked, “Is that son of a bitch looking to die? Who is he?”

The middle-aged man replied, “I don’t know, I’ve never seen him before. He’s a young man, and he came with President Li of the Li Group.”

The moment he heard that, Mr. Ning trembled and uncontrollably grabbed the middle-aged man’s shoulders.

“That young man… is his… is his surname Mu? Is he tall, with a sturdy build?”

Seeing how serious Mr. Ning was, the portly middle-aged man thought for a moment and said, “I believe so…”

Mr. Ning shot up and bolted out of the room, leaving the other dignitaries stunned.

‘What was that about? Did something major happen?’

Mr. Ning ran outside as if his life depended on it, not daring to waste a single second.

‘The young man on a rampage has to be Mu Lin!’

Mr. Ning reached the lawn in moments; it was the fastest he had ever run in his life.

When Wu Tianliang saw Mr. Ning arrive, he was overjoyed. ‘Let’s see how Mu Lin gets out of this one!’ He immediately walked over with a warm expression and called out, “Fifth Uncle Ning!”

Mr. Ning nodded. “Young Master Wu.”

Wu Tianliang pointed at Mu Lin and complained, embellishing the story, “Fifth Uncle Ning, this brat insulted the Ning Family! He has no respect for you at all!”

But Mr. Ning just stood there, completely rigid, unable to move.

Mu Lin was quite pleased to see a familiar face. He said cheerfully, “Ning Zuoren, we sure are fated to run into each other!”

Seeing that Mu Lin was still being stubborn in the face of death, Wu Tianliang pointed at him and raged, “How audacious! You’re at death’s door and you still won’t kneel? How dare you address Fifth Uncle Ning by his full name!”

Ning Zuoren was scared to death. ‘This Wu Tianliang is trying to drag me into the pit of fire with him!’

He immediately slapped Wu Tianliang across the face. “Would it kill you to shut up?”

Ning Zuoren was frantic. He had only just arrived on the scene; who knew what Wu Tianliang might have done to anger Mu Lin.

Ever since Mu Lin’s visit to the Ning Family yesterday, the Old Master had given a strict order: ‘Do not, under any circumstances, provoke Mu Lin. Even if it means taking a small loss, just let him have his way.’

‘Once the Imperial Martial Bureau’s Patrol leaves, there will be plenty of ways to deal with him. Whether we steam him or braise him will be entirely up to us.’

Even Ning Bai Nian had strictly forbidden them from crossing Mu Lin.

Wen Lianggong was behind Mu Lin, which meant Tai Weiguo was his rock-solid backer.

The Imperial Martial Bureau’s Patrol might be a temporary pressure, but the greater pressure came from Wen Lianggong and Tai Weiguo.

‘Anyone hard-headed enough could try provoking Mu Lin, but they’d probably lose everything they have.’

But despite all their planning, there was still some clueless fool under his command.

“Mr. Mu, I am so incredibly sorry! My subordinate has offended you. Whatever consequences he faces, he has brought them upon himself. This was absolutely not the Ning Family’s intention!”

Ning Zuoren was practically groveling in the dirt.

“Fifth Uncle Ning, how could you…” Wu Tianliang was utterly stunned. The moment Fifth Uncle Ning said those words, it meant the Ning Family would not protect him.

Not only would they not protect him, but he was about to become the scapegoat to bear the brunt of Mu Lin’s fury.

The surrounding guests had all gathered around, watching the scene as if it were a bit of after-dinner entertainment.

Mu Lin said, “I’m thick-skinned; a few words don’t bother me. But our President Li is different. She’s a delicate flower. How could she possibly endure being humiliated by your subordinate?”

Ning Zuoren swiftly turned and bowed deeply to Li Xue. “President Li, my man has caused trouble. I beg for your forgiveness! As long as it appeases your anger, you can do whatever you wish!”

Li Xue was flustered, even more so than before. ‘This is Ning Zuoren, a man with real power in the Ning Family, and he’s bowing to me right now? How is this possible?’

‘Am I dreaming? Or is this some kind of deeper ploy waiting for me?’

She hurriedly waved her hands. “It’s fine, it’s fine, it’s really nothing…”

Mu Lin, however, had no intention of letting the matter slide so easily. Zhou Tianyi had been quite arrogant just moments ago.

She had tried to use online rumors to slander Li Xue and ruin her reputation.

“Ning Zuoren!”

Ning Zuoren immediately answered, “Yes, sir!”

Mu Lin pointed at Wu Tianliang and said slowly, “Who is this person to you?”

Ning Zuoren answered swiftly, “His father and I are old acquaintances, so I’ve taken him under my wing to mentor him.”

“Oh, is that so?!”

Mu Lin asked, “He’s in the social media business?”

“Yes… that’s right. He’s quite successful at it.”

Mu Lin said, “Hand his company over to me, and we can consider this matter settled. Otherwise… we’ll see what happens.”

Seeing his life’s work about to be washed down the drain, Wu Tianliang’s face turned pale. He cried out, “Don’t even think about it! That’s my company, I’ll never give it to you!”

Ning Zuoren kicked Wu Tianliang aside. “I’m trying to save your damn life! If it weren’t for your father’s sake, I wouldn’t care if you lived or died!”

Wu Tianliang’s eyes turned red, but he didn’t dare to say another word.

‘Someone even Ning Zuoren is afraid of must be truly terrifying.’

Ning Zuoren said respectfully, “I’ll have him draft a share transfer agreement. It will be delivered to you shortly.”

Wu Tianliang looked as if his spine had been ripped out. He was completely lost and disheartened, with no idea what to do.

Finally, Mu Lin’s gaze fell upon Zhou Tianyi. She was trembling uncontrollably. Her backer was Wu Tianliang, whose backer was Ning Zuoren, but Mu Lin had just put Ning Zuoren through the wringer.
