Tower of Endless: Death Granted Entry

The sign Samuel gave, simple as it was... But alone hinted everything Moon needed to know.

Moon gritted his teeth...

To him, it was more than obvious who was playing the dirty game and controlling the mess.

Samuel left the room without saying another word, leaving Moon along with his refreshed grudges that didn’t seem to let go of him.

Not after becoming a person and having his own name, nor after finally losing what bound and branded him.

Moon stepped out, closing the door of his room as he left. Maybe going out for a walk would help him cool off.

He had a lot on his mind now; a lot had happened in the recent few minutes...

It was nighttime. He had already missed dinner, so he didn’t bother walking to the eatery to check.

”I’m not that hungry anyway.” He whispered to himself...

Not only did he miss dinner, but he also woke up at the dead of night alone...

There was no way he could go back to sleep.

That dream was one thing he didn’t have time to think about, nor could he remember what he actually saw, but the feeling that he lost something important was pressing on his mind.

’What exactly was that dream?’ He thought.

He found a bench and took a seat, placing his face into his two open palms, trying to remember anything. The only thing he could recall was how he woke up.

The more he thought, the more his mood fell.

If not for Fate Alert, he would have never believed that this cute little thing was, in fact, so dangerous beyond his current understanding...

His pride was hurt. He still had things that being a slave failed to deprive him of. His pride was one of those things.

’That little bastard was messing with me...’ he thought.

After going through a new pain that he couldn’t even understand, bypassing his high tolerance and all other types of unspeakable ways of death he had experienced.

He believed that this pain was so unreal.

It felt like sewing, or constructing something...

Yet, the cat was bored enough to smack his face a few times.

He let go of his face, exhaling loudly into the empty space.

As a war slave once upon a time, he knew how a superior behaves when he’s bored. Getting bored was the worst thing that could happen to those at the bottom.

When a superior gets bored, they would make fun of a selected victim they picked for the day, would sometimes choose violence... But if they were decent,

They usually did boring things, like...

”Gather the slaves, let’s build a new defense line... get them to gather large blocks of rocks from the region to fortify the camp.” He could hear the stupid voice aiming to drain their stamina for no reason.

People like these usually died early since no one had the energy to support them.

Now that he was fine, the seal was good, and the little bastard didn’t turn his face into a bloody smear, he thought that maybe he should be grateful that this small fluffy thing didn’t hit him with the intent to smash his head into paste.

But that thought failed to brighten his mood. There were more problematic things coming his way.

”Why am I trying so hard to distract myself?” He whispered to himself.

He was grateful to Samuel for everything he did for him till now, starting with that woman trying to interrogate him, till their last warning, of course including the seal that would now keep him from getting hunted prematurely.

He stood up, resuming his stroll around. There was still much more to think about.

Including the matter with the one who calls himself [Sky Splitting Edmond]... He must make it work somehow before the normalization period ends. Resolving his inability to use echo was a standing problem, and it was bound to bring problems sooner or later.

”Moody chef needs some entertainment. Life must have gotten boring for him.” He thought, smirking for the first time since the day started. Seemingly, he now had a thought.

As he was walking, a powerful gust of wind blew his long hair over his face.

He shifted his gaze slightly to take a look at where it came from...

’So, they’re finally arriving,’ he thought before getting on his way, unbothered with whoever was coming or how many.

It was too early for him to be bothered with them... Or so he thought.

...

On the platform of the second floor’s normalization facility, a rift opened.

A person stepped out of it, someone who looked extremely unusual at first glance... At least by Moon’s standards of what looked to be normal.

With shoulder-length purple hair that was partially tied up at the back, leaving some to flow on his neck and forehead. His eyes were also the very same purple-colored to match the hair perfectly.

Skin so white that it could reflect light slightly... Almost glowing.

The facial features that were delicate to a jarring degree, as if he was drawn rather than existing naturally. Perfectly straight nose bridge.

Sharp, and perfectly symmetrical, pointy cheekbones flushed with vitality, round chin, and bright, healthy lips opened into a smile, showing teeth that matched the tone of his skin and the white of his eyes.

On his body, a light blue silk robe reaching his waist, underneath a black shirt and pants. He wore open-toe leather tactical footwear covering up to his shins.

Each ear had a different looking earring.

On one, he had a dangling arrow, and on the other, he had a small bead, it held the same color of both his hair and eyes.

He had a golden necklace shining over his black shirt, and beneath, on the left side of his waist, lay a long scabbard that was empty.

His right hand held a long elegant looking saber, resting on his shoulder.

The saber was narrow and slightly curved at the tip, with a long handle to fit both-hand usage.

He took a long breath in.

”Oh yeah, finally I made it out of the trial zone.” He looked around. ”So this is the famous normalization facility of the second floor... Last I heard of it, I heard it was nothing special.” He ranted to himself while taking in the sight, new to him.

The buildings and architecture were still amazing to him as they were to Moon. ”No wonder, this place, even if it offers nothing special, being established by that person makes it special,” taking in the scene.

While watching the buildings and style, he was also looking around...

He did indeed come at the dead of night, not expecting anyone other than himself, but he soon noticed Moon, who was walking away, seemingly in deep thought.

”Oh my, someone made it before me...” He started running at him. ”Hey, friend, good to see you... are you also a new ascender... nice to meet you.” He placed his arm unceremoniously on Moon’s shoulder. ”I’m Roran of the Swift Saber Clan... I can see you also are not keeping your weapon in the inventory, a true spirit of a warrior, admirable.”

Moon, at first, didn’t react... but his right hand slowly reached out to Liquid Mountain.

And once he held it perfectly... He looked once at the arm on his shoulder, before looking at Roran.

”That precious arm of yours,” He paused, his face contorted into something that didn’t look human nor beast. He glanced at the arm a second time ”You might miss it for the rest of your life.”
