High School DxD: Return of the Crimson Dragon Emperor

Chapter 549: Chapter 539: The Ultra-Final Battle Begins

”Hey, Hyoudou. Why is it that whenever you’re at the center of things, this complete breakdown of tension just spreads everywhere?”

”...I have no excuse.”

I answered Saji briefly as he glared at me with half-lidded eyes.

Look, it’s not like I wanted to ruin the serious mood on purpose, okay? It’s just that it had been so long since I got to skin-ship with my beloved little sister that I got a bit carried away... Sorry for being a siscon.

Then, Ignis chimed in.

”There’s no need to feel bad about being a siscon. All you need to do with a little sister is hug her and pat her head. That is an older brother’s absolute privilege.”

Right?! I feel like I’ve heard that line somewhere before, but Lady Ignis is completely right!

Well, that aside, the fact that Rias’s breasts had flattened out was a shock equivalent to being struck by lightning. My eyes practically popped out of my head in sheer astonishment. Those glorious breasts were gone, you know? Of course the battle took a back seat!

The useless goddess Ignis continued her explanation.

”By the way, the reason Alice-chan’s breasts haven’t changed much is because she hasn’t used up much Oppai-power.”

In other words, Rias fired nipple beams until her Oppai-power was completely empty. Just what kind of chaotic situation was going on over there...?

”Don’t worry, once her Oppai-power recovers, Rias-chan’s breasts will return to their original size,” Ignis added.

So it’s just a temporary thing, and once she heals, Rias’s breasts will make a grand comeback. Good, good. That’s a relief.

As I nodded in understanding, Old Man Maurice—who had been beaten black and blue by Alice—was rubbing his swollen cheek right next to me.

”Ow... Dammit, you didn’t have to go that far. You really don’t know how to hold back, do you...?”

”Sniff... But Maurice, you called me flat-chested... Uwah.”

”I’m the one who wants to cry here. Hey, Issei. Keep a tighter leash on this wild horse of yours. My body can’t take much more of this.”

That’s impossible. Because Alice is completely wild and free. Even though she’s my ’Queen,’ she orders me around by the chin. A proper master-servant relationship doesn’t exist between us.

”Even though she lets Issei have his way with her in bed ♪”

Cut it out, you useless goddess! Could you please stop saying things like that in public?! Sure, at night Alice turns from her usual tomboyish self into a total naive, blushing girl! And sure, she becomes ridiculously cute, but still!

”Well, Issei’s technique has been steadily improving anyway~ Next up, Saji-kun! I choose you!”

”ME?!”

”Yes! You must want to do that and this with Sona-chan too! A type like Sona-chan is best taken by storm—just pin her down! Come on, go for it!”

”W-W-W-What?!”

Sona’s face turned bright red at Ignis’s outrageous declaration!

This is bad! The useless goddess has finally turned her sights toward the Sitri side! Seriously, stop it! They don’t live purely on momentum the way we do! Please, just leave them in peace!

Right then—

”Ahaha... I’m so tired... Straight-man duty, never again... Ufufu, ahahaha...”

”Yu-Yuto-senpai...? Yuto-senpai has completely broken down!”

Kibaaaaaa! Why are you having a total mental breakdown?! Was being the straight man really that painful?! Was it that stressful?! I’m so sorry! So please, come back to us!

”Uhehe, uhehehe... Seriousness doesn’t exist anywhere anymore... Serial... Serious? Cereal... Uhehe...”

”His condition is getting worse?! Kiba! Pull yourself together!”

Kiba stared up at the sky with hollow eyes! That’s actually terrifying! It’s kind of creepy!

As Kiba radiated a creepy aura, Rias shook his shoulders.

”Yuto! Pull yourself together! The battle isn’t over yet!”

”...Ha! Wh-What was I...?”

Oh! Kiba came back! Our handsome prince is back!

As Kiba regained consciousness, Rias hugged him tightly.

”Thank goodness... I’m so sorry, Yuto. Forcing all the straight-man responses onto you... to think it drove you this far...”

”A-Ah, I don’t really understand, but... making straight-man remarks is part of my role too... so I’ll do my best in moderation.”

Kiba looked utterly bewildered. ...Does he not remember? That feels like a different kind of dangerous problem... Maybe I should help him blow off some stress next time.

Now that the normal Kiba was back and things had settled down, we turned our attention toward the guy standing ahead of us—Asem, who had presumably taken the brunt of Rias and the others’ full attack. He hadn’t made a single move since everyone gathered, but—

”Buhahaha! Aha, hahahaha! Cough, cough, gag! Buffh, ahahahahaha!”

Asem was clutching his stomach, pounding the ground over and over again. He was rolling around, bursting with laughter.

Yeah, I had a feeling. He’s just that kind of guy. Normally, an enemy would attack during a moment like this. But not him. He just straight-up bursts out laughing. Just like now.

...Though come to think of it, this kind of absurd, unserious atmosphere is actually dealing the most damage to Asem, isn’t it? Even when the cheat-tier old man duo attacked him, they couldn’t finish him off, yet right now he’s clutching his side from laughing too hard...

Asem wiped away the tears brought on by his laughter and turned his gaze back to us, a thin smile playing on his lips.

”Welcome, members of Team ’D×D’. You’ve done remarkably well to push through the battlefield this far. Even several gods have already been eradicated, yet I cannot hide my surprise at your ability to break through.”

Spreading his arms wide, Asem praised Rias and the others who had rushed to the scene.

Cannot hide his surprise? Where on earth does that relaxed expression look surprised to anyone? This guy knew from the start that this team would definitely make it here. The current Team ’D×D’ possesses that kind of power.
