High School DxD: Return of the Crimson Dragon Emperor

Chapter 523: Chapter 513 Have you sorted out your thoughts?

Figures. He basically has no weaknesses and zero arrogance. We’d have to layer scheme upon scheme, and then overwhelm him with absolute power. Is that really the only way we’re going to pull this off?

Asem asked:

”Have you sorted out your thoughts?”

”Yeah. —I’m gonna blow you away with a full-power punch right to the face!”

”Sounds great! Let’s go with that!”

We both kicked off the ground and charged forward. I reached out, and Asem reached out as well, locking us in a head-on grapple.

”Nnghhhhhhh!”

”Gughhhhhhhh!”

My aura and Asem’s aura collided violently, sending bolts of lightning crackling through the air. The torrent of force spreading outward from us swallowed the surrounding area, carving a massive crater into the earth beneath our feet.

Our power was evenly matched! If that was the case, then from here on, it would be decided by technique!

Reversing my approach from full power, I suddenly relaxed my body and let myself fall backward. Having put all his weight forward, Asem lost his balance and stumbled—and targeting that moment, I drove a sharp kick upward! The kick planted squarely in his solar plexus, launching Asem high into the sky!

Without wasting a second, I pursued him.

Asem spread his arms and legs wide in midair to brake his momentum. Meeting my approach head-on, our fistfight resumed in the sky!

His movements had always been refined, but knowing the secret behind his strength made them look even sharper now. He deflected my punches with fluid motions, countering with attacks that redirected my own force back at me. When I threw a kick, he entangled his leg with mine and used his other leg to strike back. When we fought in Heaven, Asem had copied my movements—and now I knew it was only because he had undergone the training necessary to pull it off.

But I’ve been through that same hell, too.

”Hah!”

I threw a punch... or rather, made it look like one before switching tactics mid-motion. My fist, which had been driving straight toward Asem’s face, stopped dead in its tracks just as he moved to block it. Taking advantage of his movement, I activated the Chaining Qi Power Technique, creating an afterimage infused with my qi.

True experts don’t just rely on what their eyes see; they fight by sensing intangible factors like the flow of qi and the opponent’s intent. Because of that, the stronger the opponent, the more easily their attention gets drawn to a qi-infused afterimage. On top of that, as an Innovator wielding a rainbow aura, the afterimages I created carried my actual consciousness—my intent to kill and fighting spirit included.

”What—?!”

Asem fell for my afterimage hook, line, and sinker, swinging at empty air. Thanks to that, his stance completely broke!

”Even you lose focus on my real body for a split second! And that split second is a massive opening!”

Circling around behind him, I unleashed a kick toward his blind spot. Utilizing that fraction of a second, I put the full twist of my hips and my aura into a single strike that could serve as a decisive blow! Even if it didn’t defeat him, it would undoubtedly inflict massive damage!

My kick drove right toward Asem’s body—and in that exact moment, I saw a sinister smirk cross his face.

Instantly, Asem’s figure vanished into thin air!

”What the...?!”

My eyes widened in shock. That should have caught him completely off guard. Yet Asem had vanished from the spot at a speed that even I couldn’t track.

”—Too bad.”

A voice called out from behind me.

Turning around, I saw Asem already gathering a dense mass of aura in his palm—

With no time to dodge or defend, I took the energy blast at point-blank range! Taking a direct hit, I lost all control of my posture and crashed violently into the ground, burying myself deep in the middle of the desert.

”Cough, cough! Ouch...! What the hell was that just now...?”

Looking down at me as I coughed up dust, Asem wore his usual nonchalant smile.

”I’m the one who created this world, you see. To construct a world, one needs to understand the structure of space and dimensions. What I just did was a sort of byproduct of world-building—instant teleportation using the structure of space itself. It’s a handy technique that lets me go anywhere as long as I know the coordinates.”

~ Afterword Mini-Story ~

Ignis: ”I came up with yet another new technique!”

Issei: ”Let me guess, it’s another ’Oppai Cannon’ or something, right? Give it a rest, we’ve got enough of those already.”

Ignis: ”Tsk, tsk, tsk... how naive, Issei. Do I look like a goddess who lacks innovation? This one is a technique specifically for Alice-chan and Rias-chan!”

Rias: ”Exclusively for us...? I have nothing but bad feelings about this, but... what kind of technique is it?”

Alice: ”Ignis-san might look like she’s just fooling around, but she actually gets results... Should we at least hear her out?”

Ignis: ”That’s the spirit♪ The technique made just for you two is called: Oppai-fusion! You both raise your Oppai-Power to the exact same level, and then press your breasts together! Doing so will give birth to the ultimate Switch Princess!”

Issei: ”They merge?! The Switch Princess is finally fusing?! What on earth is that gonna look like?!”

Ignis: ”A Switch Princess with the absolute ultimate breasts in size, firmness, beauty, sensitivity, and feel will be born!”

Issei: ”What?! I wanna see that so bad! Please make it happen—”

Alice: ”Denied!”

Issei: ”Gwah?!”

Rias: ”I knew it was going to be something like that...”
