High School DxD: Return of the Crimson Dragon Emperor

Chapter 509: Chapter 499 Against the Princess in that form

”Against the Princess in that form, the current me wouldn’t stand a chance. That’s why I’m going to display everything I have right here. Allow me to invite you all into my domain!”

Snap! Vika snapped her fingers—and in the very next moment:

The scenery within the reach of her aura began to warp. The ruined earth and the blood-red sky bled together like mixed paint...

When the shift in the world settled, we found ourselves standing in a desert domain covered entirely in white sand. Pure white sand, a deep blue sky featuring a full moon, and—countless weapons plunged into the desert floor. From swords, spears, and daggers to firearms like handguns and cannons, an endless variety of armaments littered the white desert landscape.

”Could it be... this world is...”

Alice murmured with a grim expression as she looked around.

What Vika had been granted by Assem was the ’Armory: Arsenal’. I see, how simple to understand.

Vika smiled gently as she spoke.

”I’m glad you understood before I even had to explain. That’s right, this is my world. An alternate space that I own—my personal armory.”

”So you’ve deployed a specialized barrier unique to you. In short, we can’t leave this barrier unless we defeat you, right?”

”Yes, that’s about the long and short of it.”

I scanned our surroundings once more. People other than us—members of the Allied Forces who were our allies—had been dragged into this barrier as well. If we couldn’t break through this barrier without defeating Vika, it meant every ally present here was trapped. It was bad enough if it were just us, but having our allies held back too was definitely dangerous.

Alice pressed Vika with another question.

”You really pulled one on us... or is it too early to say that? You’ve got plenty of other tricks up your sleeve, haven’t you?”

”Of course. This is my world, after all. It’s inside this domain that my true strength can be unleashed. Well, it’s probably faster if you just test it out for yourself♪”

Vika lowered her stance, leveling her spear.

”I was planning to do that from the start.”

Alice leveled her spear to match Vika, her eyes sharpening instantly. The moment intense murderous intent filled the air between them—both of them vanished from sight.

A deafening roar resounded from above. Looking up, I saw Alice, clad in white lightning, engaging in a fierce clash with Vika.

Alice’s Divine Maiden Transformation—White Lightning Goddess Tachyon Vasilissa. A pseudo-deity governing light. Current Alice possessed not only immense power, but vastly enhanced speed. An ordinary god-class entity would be toyed with and defeated by that speed alone.

It was the same back in Agreas. Vika couldn’t keep up with that speed, making the battle entirely one-sided.

Yet look at them now. Vika was battling evenly against Alice in her transformed state. It seemed that within this barrier, Vika’s physical capabilities were boosted exponentially as well.

Swinging her spear at speeds that rendered the tip invisible, Vika chuckled.

”Ufufu! To think you can fight evenly with me as I am now—not bad at all!”

Alice shouted back while countering with godspeed movements.

”That’s my line! You were hiding this much power all along! If you couldn’t use this, you would’ve been finished in a flash!”

”Well, wouldn’t it be boring if things ended in a flash? If there’s still potential left to get stronger, it’s only natural to want to see what lies ahead!”

A sharp horizontal sweep deflected Alice’s spear. Her stance broken, Alice dodged Vika’s follow-up strike and leaped backward, spreading wings that shone like a seraph’s light wide behind her.

Numerous platinum-gold spears manifested around her, locking onto Vika before all launching forward with lethal precision.

However, the launched spears were intercepted and negated—by countless swords that suddenly rained down from above.

Alice clicked her tongue.

”Your weapons are way stronger here than in the outside world...! I had a feeling, but don’t tell me—”

To those words, Vika replied with a wink.

”That’s right♪ The weapons deployed inside this world are on a completely different dimension in both quantity and quality. Every single weapon manifested here is of the Divine Artifact class. They’re on a whole different level compared to the holy and demonic swords I’ve used until now!”

Vika caught one of the flying swords and gave it a light swing.

In the next instant—

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!

The entire area shook violently! Before the path of Vika’s swing lay a pulverized wasteland. What used to be flat ground had been transformed into a massive canyon. Furthermore, that single strike wiped out a huge portion of the allies trapped inside the barrier...!

All that power from a single swing...! The claim that they were Divine Artifact class was real... but you’re telling me countless weapons with such absurd power exist here...?!

”And as a bonus, I can even do things like this.”

Vika snapped her fingers.

At her command, the swords, spears, and massive hammers plunged into the ground rose into the air, pointing their tips toward the Allied Forces.

And then—every single armament shot forward toward the Allied Forces!

The number of weapons swooping down on the Allied Forces wasn’t just a hundred or two! Because every single one possessed the power of a Divine Artifact, a single falling sword inflicted devastating casualties on our allies!

”If I rain down thousands of Divine Artifacts, no matter how many you are or even if there are gods among you, total annihilation is inevitable. Even if you deploy defensive barriers, it’s useless. Before overwhelming power, they’re no better than paper.”

As if proving Vika’s words, the pouring storm of Divine Artifacts crushed our allies right through their defenses. There should have been quite a few formidable fighters among them, yet they couldn’t resist Vika’s attack at all. Some tried to target Vika directly to escape the barrier, but in an instant, they were caught in a rain of divine swords, erased without a single scrap of flesh remaining.

This was Vika’s true strength...!

”Ah, by the way, the weapons in this world can only be used by me. You can’t steal them or anything, so keep that in mind♪”

As a rain of blood poured over the vast barrier she controlled, Vika wore a captivating, seductive smile.
