The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 288: Chapter 288: She Is My Ex-Girlfriend

Wu Xiuli was dumbfounded. ’This President Chen just dropped to his knees out of nowhere? What in the world is happening?’

However, Cheng Yuan was the one calling the shots at home now. As his mother, she didn’t interfere, just watched in silence.

Cheng Yuan laughed in exasperation. ”Chen, are you trying to play the scoundrel? You think kneeling down means everyone has to forgive you? You think a guilt trip will work on me? You’re wrong! You’ll only disgust me more! To be honest, if you hadn’t shown up today, I wouldn’t even remember who you were. I’d have forgotten you completely! But no, you just had to come knocking on my door!”

With that, Cheng Yuan pulled out his phone and dialed Mei Xing’an’s number. ”President Mei, you know a guy named Chen Weizhong?”

”I do. He’s just a nobody.”

”He’s at my house causing trouble. You handle it.”

”Don’t worry, Mr. Cheng. I’ll take care of it, no loose ends.”

Less than two minutes after he hung up, security guards from the Long Lake District arrived at Villa Number One. After getting Cheng Yuan’s permission, the guards rushed into the living room and dragged Chen Weizhong out.

Throughout this, Wang Shanshan remained silent, merely watching Cheng Yuan with a very complicated expression.

Wang Shanshan realized Cheng Yuan had changed. He had become somewhat of a stranger, more domineering, and in a way that made her admire him!

Cheng Yuan, of course, didn’t give Wang Shanshan a pleasant look. He asked coldly, ”What are you still doing here? Waiting for me to invite you to dinner? For old times’ sake as classmates, I’d rather not have someone throw you out. You should see yourself out.”

Wu Xiuli couldn’t hold back any longer. ”Cheng Yuan, why are you being so harsh to your classmate?”

With that, Wu Xiuli pulled Wang Shanshan to her side. ”Don’t be scared, dear. Xiaoyuan just has a bad temper. Since you’re his classmate, you should stay for dinner.”

A sour feeling welled up in Wang Shanshan’s nose, and she nearly burst into tears. ’If only I had held on for a few more days,’ she thought, ’this kind, elegant woman would have been my mother-in-law. With her backing me up, I would have had a powerful position in this family.’

But alas, she had ruined it all!

But Cheng Yuan had no intention of letting Wang Shanshan stay for dinner. He said in a low, serious voice, ”Mom, this is Wang Shanshan. My ex-girlfriend. I went to prison because of her, and she turned around and became Jin Pengfei’s girlfriend.”

Ex-girlfriend?

And she became Jin Pengfei’s girlfriend?

Wu Xiuli instinctively let go of Wang Shanshan’s hand.

”Xiaoyuan, isn’t Ruoxi your girlfriend?”

”Mom, it’s actually your fault. You were pressuring me to bring a girlfriend home, so I had no choice but to have Ruoxi pretend to be my girlfriend.”

Wu Xiuli asked, a little disappointed, ”Xiaoyuan, so you and Ruoxi were just acting? No, that’s not right. Haven’t you two already registered your marriage? Don’t tell me the marriage certificate you showed me was fake too?”

”The marriage certificate is real, of course. It’s a long story. At first, Ruoxi and I really were just acting. But as we kept it up, we fell in love with each other, so we went and got it registered.”

Wu Xiuli turned her head and shot Wang Shanshan a cold glance. ”In that case, I suppose I should thank you, Miss Wang. If it weren’t for your betrayal, how would I have ended up with such a wonderful daughter-in-law as Ruoxi?”

Wang Shanshan’s face went pale, then red, at Wu Xiuli’s words. She decided to drop all pretenses.

”Auntie, you think Lin Ruoxi is some saint? Crows are black the world over! Lin Ruoxi only married Cheng Yuan because she knew he was the owner of Villa Number One! If I had known he was the owner of Villa Number One, why would I have ever left him? When you get down to it, this isn’t my fault! It’s all Cheng Yuan’s fault! He had to pretend to be poor to ’test human nature’! Human nature can’t withstand that kind of test!”

Wu Xiuli smiled. ”Young lady, you’re wrong. Xiaoyuan wasn’t pretending to be poor; he *was* poor! When Ruoxi and Xiaoyuan got married, he wasn’t the owner of Villa Number One yet! Do you think everyone is as materialistic as you? For the sake of the time you and Xiaoyuan once shared, let me give you some advice. You can’t treat relationships with ulterior motives! Don’t treat love like a business deal! Otherwise, you will end up alone for the rest of your life! Now, please leave. You are not welcome in our home!”

Wang Shanshan was kicked out, but Cheng Yuan paid it no mind. He had long since exhausted all his feelings and patience for her; she couldn’t stir any emotion in him at all.

Even if Wang Shanshan were to drop dead in front of him, he wouldn’t feel a thing.

”Mom, I’m going to be in seclusion for a bit. Don’t disturb me unless it’s important.”

”Alright.”

Cheng Yuan returned to the Alchemy Room, refined two batches of Essence Enhancing Pills, and then eagerly tested their effects.

It had to be said, the Medicinal Power of the Essence Enhancing Pills far surpassed that of the Qi Enhancement Pills.

Cheng Yuan could pop Qi Enhancement Pills like candy, but when it came to the Essence Enhancing Pills, he felt his Meridians stretching uncomfortably after just ten.

If Duan Yanming and Danba were to see this, they would be scared stiff. They would need a whole month to digest just one Essence Enhancing Pill, a High Tier Elixir like this one.

But Cheng Yuan had swallowed ten at once!

Cheng Yuan worked to refine the surging True Essence in his body, but the speed of refinement couldn’t keep up with the rate of generation, causing his Meridians to stretch more and more.

If not for the incredible resilience of his Sacred Body, he might have already exploded and died.

However, Cheng Yuan wasn’t nervous. He took out a few Essence Pills to help refine his True Essence.

After he swallowed the Essence Pills, the pressure on his Meridians instantly eased. The True Essence was quickly refined and compressed, becoming denser and more potent!

In just half an hour, all the True Essence in Cheng Yuan’s body was successfully compressed.

The compressed True Essence rapidly began to fuse with his Spiritual Power and his physical body.

In that short half an hour, the True Essence in his limbs had finished fusing. If Cheng Yuan unleashed the full power of his limbs, he could easily suppress a Martial Emperor Middle Stage expert!

Cheng Yuan wanted to press his advantage and fuse the True Essence in his torso all at once, breaking through to the Grandmaster realm in a single stroke.

But a knock on the door of the Alchemy Room forced Cheng Yuan to interrupt his Cultivation.

Cheng Yuan activated his Double Pupil and saw his mother outside. He could only suppress his annoyance and force a placating smile as he opened the door.

”Mom, didn’t I say not to disturb me unless it’s important? I’m in seclusion!”

”Your dad’s old army buddy is celebrating his birthday. He invited the whole family, so we shouldn’t be late.”

An old army buddy?

Cheng Yuan’s expression darkened. ”What’s the point of a get-together with Dad’s old buddies? When I was in trouble, not a single one of them stepped up to help.”

”Xiaoyuan, you’re wronging your uncles. Most of them did try to help, but they didn’t have much influence. Your Uncle Xiao did the most for us; he hired a lawyer for our family! And today is his birthday!”

Cheng Yuan’s expression softened. He did remember that it was Uncle Xiao who had helped hire the lawyer.

”If it’s Uncle Xiao’s birthday, then we should definitely go.”

「Xiao Ziqiang’s birthday banquet was being held at the Hao Ge Grand Hotel. Cheng Hongbing’s Maybach pulled into the hotel’s parking lot, and the family of three headed straight for the Xiling Pavilion on the second floor.」

Because Cheng Yuan had been delayed by his Alchemy, his family was the last to arrive. The Xiling Pavilion was already full of people.

The old comrades were gathered together, chatting enthusiastically.

The deputy squad leader, Yan Song, frowned in displeasure. ”It’s past seven. Why isn’t the squad leader here yet? He’s certainly putting on airs!”
