The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 109: Chapter 109: How Will You Reward Me?

BEEP... BEEP...

Gu Feiyun hung up immediately.

Gu Feiyun’s reaction was like a bucket of cold water being poured over Gu Chen’s head!

’Is Dad just leaving me to fend for myself?’

’Why is this happening?’

Gu Chen wasn’t a brainless rich brat; he instantly understood the crux of the problem.

The situation the Hu Family was facing must be even more dangerous than his own!

’Looks like I’ve been completely and utterly screwed today!’

Gu Chen abandoned all hope. With a THUD, he dropped to his knees. ”Brother Cheng, I really know I was wrong! Please, give me a chance to turn over a new leaf! From now on, I’ll be your dog. If you tell me to go east, I’ll never go west.”

Cheng Yuan snorted coldly. ”Sorry, I don’t need a two-faced dog like you! Do it!”

Zhu Yunhu was the first to rush forward. Because of this bastard’s instigation, he’d nearly had his head blown off by Hu Shishi. This was a grudge that had to be repaid!

”I’ll let you experience the joy of a haircut too!”

With a RATTLE, Zhu Yunhu whipped out his pistol and pressed it against Gu Chen’s head!

Gu Chen was terrified. ’Zhu Yunhu is this ruthless? He just pulls out a gun?’

”Brother Hu, don’t! Please don’t! For the sake of us growing up together! Spare my life!”

”It’s even more hateful precisely because we grew up together! We were on pretty good terms, yet you plotted to screw over our Zhu Family! Damn you!”

BANG!

The gun went off!

Gu Chen was so scared his legs went limp, and a warm stream flowed down his trouser leg.

A few seconds later, Gu Chen felt a burning sensation on his scalp. He subconsciously raised a hand to his head and felt a deep groove.

Everyone around them burst into laughter.

”Fuck! I thought Gu Chen was somebody, but he actually pissed himself in fear? When Sister Shishi gave Yunhu his ’haircut’ just now, Yunhu didn’t even blink.”

”Yunhu, your haircutting skills are terrible! Sister Shishi is way better. What kind of style did you give him?”

Zhu Yunhu curled his lip in disdain. ’How could I have been friends with such a piece of trash when we were kids? I must have been blind!’

Zhu Yunhu lost interest in punishing Gu Chen further and waved his hand dismissively. ”Beat the hell out of him!”

The younger members of the two families rushed forward with shouts.

Gu Chen was instantly swallowed by the crowd of people!

At first, Gu Chen could still beg for mercy, but after a while, his voice grew weaker and weaker.

Cheng Yuan snorted coldly, not caring whether Gu Chen lived or died, and turned to walk out of Yang’s Private Kitchen.

”Sister Shishi, it’s getting late. I have to go home. Otherwise, my mom will worry.”

”Alright, I’ll drive you.”

Hu Shishi drove Cheng Yuan to the high-speed rail station.

Cheng Yuan got out of the car and gave Hu Shishi a long, deep look. ”Sister Shishi, I’ll say my goodbyes here.”

Hu Shishi didn’t cling to him. She very naturally straightened his clothes. ”I’ll find some time to visit Luocheng and pay my respects to your aunt and uncle.”

Cheng Yuan’s head throbbed. ”Sister Shishi, the elder was just playing matchmaker without thinking. You don’t have to take it seriously. I can treat you like my own sister.”

Hu Shishi didn’t back down in the slightest. ”Cheng Yuan, I don’t need any more younger siblings. I need a man.”

As she spoke, Hu Shishi retrieved a briefcase with a combination lock from the back seat and handed it to Cheng Yuan. ”These are the cultivation resources for the direct descendants of the Hu and Zhu Families. The combination is your birthday. This is a three-month supply. When you run out, I’ll bring you more.”

”Thanks.” Cheng Yuan didn’t refuse and took the briefcase.

”You can give the medicinal materials to others, but not the Cultivation Technique. You must destroy it after you’ve mastered it.”

”Understood. Goodbye, Sister Shishi.”

Cheng Yuan turned and walked away, forcing himself not to look back. Only when he reached the end of the corridor did he finally give in and glance back, only to find Hu Shishi still standing at the entrance, staring fixedly at him.

Cheng Yuan sighed.

’Having too many romantic admirers is also a kind of trouble.’

Two hours later, as the sky grew dark, Cheng Yuan returned to Luocheng. His trip to the Provincial City had come to an end.

When Cheng Yuan arrived back at No. 13 Small Villa, Hua Yao had already prepared dinner.

The family of three was sitting at the dining table, their spirits clearly a little low.

”Ruoxi, Mom, Dad, I’m back.”

”Xiaoyuan, you’re back? You must be hungry. Hurry up and eat.”

Speaking listlessly, Hua Yao served Cheng Yuan a bowl of rice.

”Thanks, Mom. Everyone seems a little down. Did you run into some trouble?”

Lin Ruoxi pursed her lips and said nothing. ’Cheng Yuan doesn’t understand business,’ she thought. ’Telling him will only add to his worries.’

Lin Xinghe sighed. ”What else? It’s about the auction house. We’ve hired all the other staff, but so far, only seven Treasure Holders have signed contracts with us, and that’s only after we drastically lowered our commission. Meanwhile, Huanya Auction House has already signed contracts with over thirty Treasure Holders! If we hold our initial auction at the same time, Huanya Auction House will crush us to dust! What’s worse, Elder Lin has considerable influence in the antique world. He’s put the word out, and we haven’t been able to hire a single Antique Appraiser. I’m afraid...”

Cheng Yuan smiled. ”I was wondering what the big deal was. It’s just an Antique Appraiser and some Treasure Holders, right? I can handle that! I’ll make a call in a bit and ask around.”

”Getting an Antique Appraiser and Treasure Holders isn’t enough. The most critical part is the wealthy businessmen who attend the initial auction! Because Elder Lin put the word out, only three out-of-province tycoons have confirmed their interest so far. Meanwhile, the local and Provincial City chambers of commerce will send at least a hundred wealthy businessmen to support Huanya Auction House.”

Cheng Yuan narrowed his eyes. ”Elder Lin has that much influence in the chamber of commerce?”

”Elder Lin’s childhood friend is the vice president of the Dongshan Province Chamber of Commerce. With his friend putting in a word, all the tycoons in Dongshan Province will give him face.”

Cheng Yuan frowned. ”I don’t know much about the chamber of commerce, but as for finding some VIPs to show support, I think I can handle that.”

Lin Ruoxi looked at Cheng Yuan with a skeptical gaze. ”Cheng Yuan, don’t make empty boasts. You haven’t even graduated from college yet. Do you really have connections in this area?”

Cheng Yuan grinned. ”I’ll make a call and find out.”

Cheng Yuan took out his phone and dialed Shen Jiangnan’s number. The call connected quickly, and Shen Jiangnan’s hearty voice came through. ”Xiaoyuan, what can I do for you?”

”Uncle Shen, my Ruoxi opened an auction house. The initial auction is the day after tomorrow, and we need some heavyweight guests to lend support. I was wondering if your schedule is free?”

Shen Jiangnan laughed. ”Actually, it’s not convenient for me.”

Cheng Yuan was slightly disappointed. ”Then I won’t impose.”

Shen Jiangnan said reproachfully, ”You kid, why are you in such a hurry? My going wouldn’t be of any use! You need people from the right fields. I’ll give a heads-up to the Deputy City Lord of Luocheng in charge of the economy, as well as the Directors of the investment, commerce, and fire departments. They’ll stop by for a look.”

Cheng Yuan smiled. ”Thank you, Uncle Shen.”

Cheng Yuan hung up the phone and gave Lin Ruoxi an ”OK” gesture. ”Honey, the wealthy businessmen are taken care of. I can’t speak for the Provincial City, but the tycoons of Luocheng definitely won’t be missing the initial auction for our Yuanxi Auction House. So, how are you going to reward me?”
