Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 3048: Chapter 2984: Not Returning for the Wedding Banquet

”Grandpa, will you come to the Capital City then?” Jiang Xiao asked.

Chiang Songhai hesitated for a moment, ”Qingping is still so young, bringing him to the Capital City would be a hassle. If you and Xinian come back to host the wedding, then we won’t go over.”

Perhaps fearing Jiang Xiao would be upset, he quickly added, ”Of course, you still need to discuss it with Xinian. This matter still requires his agreement. If he disagrees and decides to host in the Capital City, then your grandma and I will definitely come.”

Jiang Xiao mumbled a response and said, ”I’ll discuss it with Brother Xinian, but Grandpa, I don’t really want to go back to City M to host the wedding.”

”Why?” Chiang Songhai was taken aback, hesitating to articulate his thoughts.

”My great-grandfather wishes for us to host the wedding in D State, so with that, we will have already hosted it twice, in the Capital City and D State.”

”To D State, huh...” Chiang Songhai felt a slight bitterness in his heart, ”It should be, it should be. By then, it’ll also be considered returning to recognize our roots.”

”Yes.”

”Alright, alright. Then your grandma and I will prepare ourselves and head to the Capital City. Is there anything you need us to prepare?”

”No, nothing. Just come over when the time comes. If you find bringing little uncle inconvenient, I’ll arrange for someone to drive and pick you up. Taking a car yourself won’t be an inconvenience.”

Chiang Songhai quickly said, ”No need, no need. Having to make a round trip like that is too troublesome. We can just take the train.”

After hanging up the phone, Ge Liutao came out holding their son and asked, ”What did Little say? Not coming back during the holidays?”

”Yeah, she said she’s really busy and won’t be coming back.” Chiang Songhai sighed.

Ge Liutao paused, ”You haven’t told her about Baoguo and them, have you?”

Chiang Songhai shook his head, ”No, I haven’t. I initially thought if they could come back for the wedding, I would tell her on the joyous day when she’s in a good mood, but she said they’ll be hosting in D State. They likely won’t come back to City M.”

”Little might have even less time to come back in the future.” Ge Liutao also sighed slightly, ”Uncle Hai, do you think we should return the house to Little?”

”Return?”

”This house is originally in Little’s name. Aren’t we planning to rent land to grow flowers now? I think we can build a few brick houses by the Flower Field and move there. After Little gets married, she’ll have in-laws, and later on, children. When Qingping grows up, we also need to save up for his house. We can’t let the uncle occupy the niece’s house.”

After listening to her, Chiang Songhai was stunned for a while before regaining his senses, ”Ah Tao, you make some good points. In the past, relying on Little was fine, but now that we have Qingping, staying in Little’s house is inappropriate. Alright, I’ll discuss it with Old Xue. He helped find that land; I’ll ask if we can allocate a plot there for a homestead.”

Ge Liutao nodded.

Just then, Chiang Qingping wet himself and started crying loudly. She hurriedly took him to change his diaper and didn’t bring up the matter of Chiang Baoguo again.

This matter, Jiang Xiao decided to discuss with Meng Xinian fairly soon.

The feelings in her heart were somewhat complex and hard to put into words.

”No hosting the wedding there.”

Meng Xinian didn’t hesitate at all and said it just like that.

”Alright, I thought the same.”

”My dear, relatives on the Chiang Family side, of course, we continue to interact with them as before, but I think it’s good if your grandma and grandpa focus their energy and affection on little uncle.” Meng Xinian said while holding her face.
