Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 3011: Chapter 2947: Reporting to Her

Jiang Xiao was also pleasantly surprised.

”Really? Is it the same position as before?”

”No,” Meng Chaojun was still very excited, ”I’ve been promoted one level up. Now I’m the general manager of that project.”

Jiang Xiao raised her eyebrow.

No wonder, try as he might, he couldn’t hide the excitement in his eyes.

”Dad, congratulations.”

”Little, all of this is thanks to you, Dad knows that, thank you. Let’s find a time, and I’ll treat you to a meal, how about that?”

”There’s no need.”

”There is, at the Capital City Grand Hotel, I’ll host another day, and you can bring Xinian along.”

”Then let’s find another time.” Jiang Xiao smiled, ”Dad, I must remind you, work is important, but you need to take care of yourself, eat your three meals on time, move around more, and make sure to rest.”

”I understand, I understand,” Meng Chaojun nodded, ”This life was picked up thanks to you, I have to take good care of it.”

What he wanted to say was, in his lifetime, he still hoped to have some opportunities to support his son and daughter-in-law. Even if they didn’t need his strength, he wanted to work hard, not becoming a burden to them, so that people wouldn’t talk about Meng Xinian and then turn around to criticize Meng Xinian’s father as useless and holding Meng Xinian back.

At least, when they talked about Meng Xinian and the Meng Family, they would also mention Meng Chaojun, knowing that Meng Xinian was not from a declining family.

And Jiang Xiao, if she ever encountered any problems in the future, he could stand up for her and show everyone that Jiang Xiao did not marry poorly.

These were all things he wished to do for them.

Hopefully, he could achieve all of them.

”Alright then, I’ll head back now. I still need to prepare. Starting tomorrow, I’ll work from eight to five, with Sundays off. Once everything is settled there, I’ll give you my address and phone number, and if anything comes up you can just come find me.”

Jiang Xiao pursed her lips and smiled.

Was he planning to report his office address and phone number to her?

He even told her his work hours in detail.

”Alright, I got it.”

Meng Chaojun finished his tea and stood up, ”You also need to rest more often.”

”Got it, take care, Dad.”

Meng Chaojun walked outside, waving his hand, ”When you have time, come home more often.”

Once he left, Jiang Xiao made a call to Meng Xinian, and soon, Meng Xinian came out from the bedroom. They had already arranged that he would come to her when she was alone, using the Thousand Mile Talisman Diagram.

When he came, he held two very fresh tomatoes.

”These are grown on our rooftop, waiting for these two to ripen so I could pick them for you, they’re washed, try them.” Meng Xinian handed her the tomatoes.

The fruits and vegetables they grew on the rooftop of their barracks dormitory were also watered once with spring water by Jiang Xiao, and covered with a bit of black soil, so the fruits and vegetables there tasted very good.

Jiang Xiao took them, bit into one, the tomato juice burst in her mouth, very sweet and sour, a refreshing taste, incredibly delicious.

She suddenly got an idea, ”It seems I can plant a tomato in the space too, it’s really delicious.”

”There are plenty of things you find delicious, if you plant them all, there won’t be enough space to plant anything.”
