Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2689: Chapter 2625: Want to Meet You

Guan Tiezhu was about to speak when Chiang Xiao interrupted him.

”Did you just return from your hometown?”

”Yes.” At this point, Ding Haijing didn’t bother with other issues. He looked at Chiang Xiao, and said seriously, ”Xiao Chiang, I have something to discuss with you.”

”Let’s go inside first.”

After entering the house, Chiang Xiao quickly went to wash her face and hands. She originally wanted to take a shower, but considering Ding Haijing seemed to have something urgent to discuss, she had to hold off.

Having just spent two days on the road, she would usually disregard everything else and wash up thoroughly first.

Sitting in the living room, Ding Haijing took a deep breath and said to her, ”My father wants to meet you.”

His father?

Ding Haijing’s father?

Wants to see her?

Why?

Chiang Xiao felt somewhat baffled, only thinking of one possible reason.

”Is it because he knows you’re working as a bodyguard for an eighteen-year-old girl and thinks it’s particularly unreliable?”

Ding Haijing wanted to roll his eyes, ”What are you talking about?”

”What is it then? Isn’t your father in your hometown? Why does he suddenly want to see me?”

”He came to Capital City.”

Chiang Xiao was once again stunned.

Ding Haijing said, ”My father agreed to come to Capital City only because he wants to see you.”

”Came here for me?”

”Yes, but he asked me to tell you first that he looks quite frightening and hopes you’re mentally prepared, so you won’t be scared. Also, he wants to explain the reason for meeting you personally.”

Ding Haijing asked, ”Are you willing to see him?”

”Your father looks very frightening?” Chiang Xiao felt even stranger.

”Years ago, he was chased by people, had his leg broken, and a knife slashed across his face, leaving a long scar. It almost destroyed an eye. Now, he limps badly, and his eyes look rather intimidating, with only half vision left. In our village, many children cry when they see him, so he hardly goes out.”

This was Ding Fu’s request; he insisted on letting Chiang Xiao know his appearance clearly and prepare mentally. If she couldn’t bear to see him like this, he wouldn’t come, or they would think of other ways.

Ding Haijing kept telling him that Chiang Xiao wasn’t someone who judged by appearance, but Ding Fu was adamant.

Thus, Ding Haijing had to comply and explain clearly to Chiang Xiao what Ding Fu was like.

”Chased by people...” Chiang Xiao murmured, also determined to meet her. Why?

Ding Haijing looked at her, saying, ”If you don’t want to meet... ”

”No, that’s not the case.” Chiang Xiao hurriedly said, ”Let him come, or should I go over?”

”It’s better if he comes here; outside, he’s not very comfortable. If you don’t mind, I’ll bring him over tomorrow morning.”

It was already getting late.

”Okay.”

After discussing this, Ding Haijing thought of something else and casually asked, ”Did you have any inconveniences staying at Mingtian’s?”

”What inconveniences?”

Chiang Xiao saw Guan Tiezhu and Luo Yongsheng looking over and immediately gave them a signal.

This was not the moment to expose her; she didn’t want to hear Ding Haijing’s nagging.

Truly, she didn’t know why she felt so guilty as an employer.

In the evening, Chiang Xiao went to Youqingwei, where Cheng Qiulian settled accounts with her again.

This month earned more than before.

And the handicraft workshop quickly went on track, with everyone starting to work methodically.

Chiang Xiao’s thoughts were all about Shi Xiaoching.

Qingshuang, she had heard this name somewhere before?
