Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2049: Chapter 1985: Deeply Troubled

Cheng Cheng was about to speak when he heard her lower her voice and ask anxiously, ”What does Kuang Kanzhi mean by what he said? Why do I hear that Ah Zhu is no longer with the Kong Family? He said she went into the hospital earlier and now can’t be found? Kuang Kanzhi said a man took her away, but Ah Zhu doesn’t know anyone in the Capital City apart from the Kong Family. Did Little’s dad really take her away?”

Cheng Cheng already recognized the voice of Ge Liutao.

”Grandma, it’s Cheng Cheng.”

When he had visited the Chiang Family in the Alliance District of City M before, he had also had a meal there, so Ge Liutao knew him.

But she initially didn’t recall the relationship between Cheng Cheng and Ah Liu, only thinking he happened to be in the Capital City, got to know Meng Xinian, and thus sought him out.

Moreover, he had mentioned before that Chiang Xiao had saved him, so it was normal for him to visit during the New Year.

She was quite upset at the moment.

”Ah, yes, it’s Deputy Officer Cheng.” Ge Liutao covered the receiver with her other hand, turned away from the people in the living room, and asked in a lowered voice, ”Isn’t Xinian there?”

”He’s not here, Grandma; he went to the Alliance District and asked me to guard the door.”

Ge Liutao was worried about Chen Zhu and quickly said, ”Do you know what I just said? Does Deputy Officer Cheng have time? I beg you to do me a favor, okay? Little isn’t here either, and I don’t know what to do.”

”Grandma, what do you want me to do?”

”Can you, can you go find Little’s mom? She was originally living with the Kong Family and was said to have gone to the hospital, but now no one knows where she is. Ask Little’s dad if he really took Ah Zhu away....”

Just now, Kuang Kanzhi’s manner seemed really not like he was lying.

So, Chen Zhu really was taken away from the hospital by someone.

Aside from Chiang Xiao’s biological father, Ge Liutao couldn’t think of anyone else who could have taken her.

Knowing before that Chen Zhu was living with the Kong Family, and that Kuang Kanzhi was nice to her, Ge Liutao, although not able to recognize Chen Zhu, wasn’t very worried about her.

But now it’s different, what if Chen Zhu is really alone out there? What should be done?

Cheng Cheng was stunned by Ge Liutao’s words.

Wasn’t it agreed upon that we’d consider Chiang Qingzhu dead?

Wasn’t it agreed upon to treat Chen Zhu as a complete stranger?

How could Ge Liutao now use terms like Little’s mom or Little’s dad?

”Grandma, wasn’t Little’s mom already dead?” He immediately interrupted Ge Liutao.

Ge Liutao was taken aback.

She thought Cheng Cheng didn’t know about it and didn’t know how to explain it for a moment. Then she remembered Cheng Cheng was, after all, an outsider, and it really wasn’t right to tell him this, so she immediately changed her approach.

”Is Little’s dad there? Let him answer the phone, I want to ask him.”

Although she was somewhat timid about talking to Ah Liu, she felt that this was a special time and had to muster up the courage.

How could Cheng Cheng possibly let Ah Liu take this call and hear Ge Liutao ask about Chen Zhu?

”He is not here. Grandma, you might want to tell me first.”

”How come no one is there? That can’t be, I’m truly worried about Ah Zhu...”

Hearing her keep saying this, Cheng Cheng immediately became serious.

”Grandma...”

Just as he was about to speak, he heard Ah Liu’s voice.

”What’s going on, is it a call from Little’s grandmother?”

”Is that Little’s dad?” Ge Liutao also heard the voice on the other side.

A hand reached over from the side, quickly took the receiver, and said nothing was wrong, then hung up the call.
