Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1759: Chapter 1695: Special Department

Meng Xinian went around, opened the passenger car door, got in the car, and said, ”They are quite happy now.”

However, they will realize later on how fortunate it is to have trained under him.

To say nothing of, being able to knock others down in the military contest across the whole Alliance District, isn’t that something to be happy about?

However, Meng Xinian didn’t see that the Supervisor Guards’ eyes turned moist one by one as they watched him turn and exit the camp gate.

Sitting in the driver’s seat, Dai Gang started the car and asked, ”Great Officer, are we now heading directly to Anbu Town?”

Anbu Town is the camp where they have been transferred.

The Anbu Town Camp is quite a special place, being a special Alliance District camp, renowned within the Alliance District.

It is said that you can pull out any Supervisor Guard there and they’d be well-versed in all the eighteen martial arts; currently, it’s equipped with the finest gear, yet their missions aren’t something that ordinary Alliance Districts can compare to.

Although Anbu Town is a town, it is close to the Capital City.

This time, Yang Zhiqi and Meng Xinian were transferred to Anbu Town simultaneously, and it happened quietly; the camp just knew they were transferred and promoted, but temporarily, no one knew where they went.

This time Dai Gang went along, and it was through a selection process of which they were unaware.

They all thought the previous competition was merely a training exercise, not knowing that the result had future implications. Dai Gang performed excellently, achieving a beautiful victory.

But Zhao Xin and Gong Xinhe were left behind.

”Let’s go directly, does Xinian need to say goodbye to Chiang Xiao’s grandparents?”

”No, I already went yesterday.”

Fortunately, Zhao Xin and Gong Xinhe stayed in City M, so I can count on them to look after things if needed in the future.

Moreover, Chu Liang is still there.

Although Chu Liang is busy now trying to find Sixth Young Master Jiang, his eventual marriage will still be in City M, which means he can look after the grandparents too.

To maintain secrecy, it’s not yet time to tell anyone, so Meng Xinian hasn’t told them where he is going.

When Meng Xinian thought about Chiang Xiao’s reaction to learning he was transferred to Anbu Town, he couldn’t wait to see her.

The car sped away out of City M.

Yang Zhiqi looked at the scenery of City M passing by outside the window, and after a long moment, he withdrew his gaze and said, ”Do you know what kind of task you’re being assigned to at Anbu Town?”

Meng Xinian shook his head.

”The higher-ups are planning to establish a special department.”

Yang Zhiqi said, ”In the past two years, we’ve discovered several mysterious forces emerging in secret. They are eroding the public’s trust in the G Family through various methods and recruiting talented individuals to work for them, engaging in shady activities. If these forces are allowed to grow stronger, it could lead to chaos. Our G Family can no longer afford any turmoil; now is the time to strive forward, develop the economy, and establish alliances, so these covert forces must be thoroughly suppressed, scattered, and crushed with no chance given to them.”

Meng Xinian slightly frowned.

”Isn’t this the work of Yama King, Wei?”

”No, it’s different.”

Yang Zhiqi shook his head and said, ”Old Wei is mainly capturing foreign agents. What we need to suppress are various domestic forces, and the people we face are more than his, because it might involve entire institutions, financial group backing, possibly weapons, violent elements, and terrorists. These are things that Old Wei’s side cannot handle.”
