Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1306: Chapter 1307: Tens of Millions in Dowry

”Huh, there’s even a loft?”

When Chiang Xiao saw there were stairs, she was truly overjoyed.

”Sure, but the attic isn’t big, it can probably only fit about six or seven tables.” Meng Xinian was still somewhat disdainful.

In the eyes of their generation, a place had to be big, and then as far as the eye could see, if there were a bunch of tables and chairs all arranged neatly, that was considered good.

”This is already a huge unexpected delight, okay?” Chiang Xiao felt that he really didn’t know what to do with his wealth. If the loft were cleaned up, with a glass window opened up, and properly decorated, it would be fine with just five or six tables, and it would definitely have character.

She didn’t know what was wrong with Meng Xinian in her past life, even if his legs were disabled, he could still rent out the place. Surely that would have brought in a large income, and at the very least, he wouldn’t have had to worry about food and clothing.

Could it be that in his previous life, there was really no one around to help him handle these things?

Chiang Xiao shook her head, thinking she herself was being silly for worrying about his past life.

It wasn’t the past life anymore.

”Take a look, and if you think it’s suitable, we can find someone to start the renovations.” Meng Xinian walked behind her and embraced her from behind.

Now, Chiang Xiao was somewhat hesitant.

If they started renovations now, she worried that the current construction team might not be able to meet her standards, and some materials might not even be available.

After all, she had a rough style in mind, and there were quite a few things that this era had not yet seen.

Yet, she definitely wanted to decorate the shop in a modern way, so it wouldn’t be easily outdated, especially since she knew the trends of the future.

”Let’s not rush, I’ll think about the design when I go back, I want to draw the plans myself.”

”Good, since the shop is yours now.”

Chiang Xiao turned around, wrapping her arms around his sturdy waist, and looked up at him excitedly, ”Do you think there are any other shops for sale on this street?”

Meng Xinian was at first stunned, then raised an eyebrow, saying with certainty, ”Do you think the value here will surely increase?”

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have such an excited look in her eyes.

”I think it will!” said Chiang Xiao. ”We open Youqingwei here, and then buy another shop and open a gallery, how does that sound?”

”Good. I’ll ask around.”

Since it was what she wanted, he would certainly try his best to find it.

Chiang Xiao, momentarily delighted, added, ”See if there are any houses or courtyards for sale nearby!”

”You’re planning to buy a house too?”

”We already have a house in City M, so when I apply to university later, do you want me to test into a school in the Capital?”

”Yes, test.”

Even if he didn’t transfer back to the Capital before he turned thirty-five, he would strive to return after that age. So, looking at the long term, it was best for her to attend university in Capital City.

”The art college isn’t far from here, if we have both a house and shop nearby, it will be much more convenient for me to travel back and forth.” She tugged at his shirt at his waist, looked up at him, and playfully asked, ”Don’t you want our own little nest in the future?”

The Meng Family Old Mansion was beautiful, but if she really had to live with Meng Chaojun and Duan Qingqing for half a lifetime, she felt she might not be able to refrain from hitting an elder.

”Okay, I’ll have someone ask,” Meng Xinian said right away.

After visiting one of her betrothal gifts, they returned to the Meng Family.

Aunt Guo was there.

Seeing their return, she let out a deep sigh of relief and whispered to them, ”Madam has been unwell these past two days, unable to eat, and she refuses to see a doctor when I suggest it.”

Chiang Xiao’s eyes flashed, ”What, is she still having constant nausea?”
