Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 394: Chapter 394: The Requirements of the Exam

Chiang Caijiao felt as if her ears were going to be torn off, and she couldn’t help but start crying.

”Granny, I didn’t take them, I really didn’t!”

”Didn’t take them? Then why is there so little meat? I clearly cut more than a dozen pieces tonight!”

Meanwhile, there were only four or five pieces of meat in Chiang Baohe’s bowl.

”Granny, you only cut fourteen pieces, I saw you!” Chiang Caijiao cried out. She had seen the thinly sliced pieces of meat earlier. There were fourteen slices in total. Chiang Baoguo was not at home, and there were six other people to feed, giving five pieces to Chiang Baohe was already the maximum, and the remaining pieces would probably end up mostly in Chiang Lidong’s stomach. Chiang Songtao and Ho Laidi would have about four pieces each, leaving Chiang Caijiao with none as usual.

In the Old Chiang Family, she was like merchandise that lost money, completely without standing.

Of course, in the hearts of Chiang Songtao and Ho Laidi, not all daughters and granddaughters were considered a loss. For example, they were quite fond of their own daughter since they had three sons and only one daughter, who they felt was very thoughtful indeed.

Ho Laidi dragged Chiang Caijiao out of the house by her ear, and only once they were outside did she let go, glaring at Chiang Caijiao and scolding, ”You have no sense whatsoever! Go, set the table, and call your grandfather and your brother to eat!”

Chiang Caijiao, holding back tears, lowered her head and went to find Chiang Lidong.

The weather was getting hotter day by day.

As the cicadas chirped incessantly, stirring restlessness in people’s hearts, Song Tianyang informed Chiang Xiao, letting her know she should come to the town middle school in three days to take the placement exam.

Their elementary school exams were the day after tomorrow.

”Are you confident?” Song Tianyang had a distant relative who was the principal of the town middle school. It was with his help that Song Tianyang had been able to teach in Siyang Village.

But he had never mentioned it before.

It was only because he had taken the initiative to help Chiang Xiao apply for the placement exam that Chiang Xiao learned about it.

Now that he had come to inform her about the exam date, it meant the middle school had agreed to her application to skip a grade.

Chiang Xiao had not expected things to go so smoothly, and she nodded her head in pleasant surprise, ”Thank you, Teacher Song! I’m confident!”

Song Tianyang said, ”Don’t get too excited just yet,” frowning as he spoke, ”Do you know how many subjects you will have to take?”

”I know, Chinese, English, math, chemistry, physics - I have to take all of them, right?”

”Right, that’s correct.” The thought of her having to take exams for so many subjects still left Song Tianyang with no confidence at all. He doubted he could pass the chemistry and physics exams from junior high if he were to take them now, let alone Chiang Xiao, who had never been exposed to them before. ”And the principal said, because third-year students have the pressure of entrance exams, he wants to know if your fundamentals are solid enough. He wants you to take both the first and second-year exams.”

Song Tianyang sort of understood the principal’s intention behind such a suggestion; it was nothing more than an attempt to intimidate Chiang Xiao into backing down.

Chinese, English, math, chemistry, physics – having to take exams for two grades, which meant at least three consecutive days of exams. Could she handle it?

Chiang Xiao was momentarily stunned, not having anticipated this additional requirement from the middle school principal.

However, she didn’t mind. She had originally planned to take the Second-Year exams anyway, and now there was an additional set from the First-Year, which she felt was not an issue.

At most, she would rush to town today and buy a set of study materials for the First-Year to cram over two days.

As for the sixth-grade elementary school exam, she hadn’t even thought twice about it.

She had previously bought study materials for several Second-Year subjects at the bookstore, and aside from the time she spent drawing every night, she would also revise in the Bamboo Hut in her ”Space”.
