Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 344: Chapter 344 Let’s Live Together

Moreover, if she were to go out in the future, leaving only her grandparents at home, she’d feel somewhat uneasy. If everyone lived together, there would be no problem.

Seeing that Chiang Xiao hadn’t spoken, Chiang Songhai hastily added, ”We’ve only mentioned this to your aunt and uncle so far; nothing has been decided. Your grandmother and I have both said that you’re in charge when it comes to our family’s affairs, so if you have any concerns, just speak up, and we can all discuss them.”

”Little Little, living with your uncle and aunt, we promise not to bother you!”

Xu Linjiang really wanted to convince Little to stay with them. He was particularly fond of Little, and the more time he spent with her, the more he liked her, so he especially wanted to live with her.

Chiang Xiao smiled and nodded, ”Okay, if Uncle doesn’t mind me being noisy, then after we sell our things we can go look at the house!”

Although she said they were just going to look at the house, in reality, she had already decided to rent it with them.

Luckily, they had a good harvest today, and after selling their goods, they would certainly have quite a bit of money to divide. The rent for a month was sixteen yuan; split between two families, that would only be eight yuan each.

At present, eight yuan was certainly something she could afford.

Seeing her agreement, everyone was very happy.

Chiang Songhai let go of his worries, his attention now fully on their spoils.

”We gathered so much today?”

This time, they didn’t want to rent a bullock cart from the village because of the last conflict. If they went to rent a cart again, the villagers would surely guess they had another large haul, which would be too conspicuous.

So, this morning before leaving, Ge Dejun had already rented a bullock cart from the town. Originally, they had arranged for Liu Pei to come to Bai Gu Mountain when the time came, but since Chiang Songhai was there, he naturally took over.

Moreover, they had changed their route down the mountain, choosing a direction further from Siyang Village. Although there was no path and it was harder to travel, it was more concealed. They could only see the farmland on the outskirts of Siyang Village from a distance, so the villagers shouldn’t be able to see them.

”Brother-in-law, come and see, we got some good stuff today!” Ge Dejun immediately pulled him over to open a burlap sack. They had already brought down a load of goods before, and only the best were chosen for the last trip down.

As soon as the sack was opened and Chiang Songhai saw the head of a badger, he blurted out in surprise, ”A badger?!”

”Heh, isn’t it? I caught this! It was trapped by the snare I set last time!” At this moment, Ge Dejun was as proud as a child, nearly beaming with pride.

”De Jun, you’ve done well!” Chiang Songhai truly didn’t know what to say for joy. He reached out to touch the badger and then thought of something, ”De Jun, are you planning to sell this thing?”

According to Chiang Xiao, any game caught in his traps wouldn’t be split for money, but Ge Dejun disagreed. Previously, they had agreed to split the profits from any game caught that day between the two families. Therefore, this badger would mean a half share for Chiang Xiao as well.

However, since it was Ge Dejun who had caught it, how it was dealt with was ultimately up to him.

Chiang Songhai looked at him nervously, fearing he would want to sell the badger.

Such a creature was a rare find, and it would be a shame to sell it.

Moreover, Chiang Songhai was already itching to try something.

”Grandpa, Uncle already said on the mountain that we’re not selling the badger. He’s leaving it for you to deal with, and we’ll split the badger oil evenly between our families.”

Seeing his nervousness, Chiang Xiao couldn’t help but laugh.

”Alright, alright, alright!” Chiang Songhai exclaimed with excitement, repeating ’alright’ three times.

Looking at the pheasants and wild rabbits, Chiang Songhai was even more thrilled. Suddenly feeling a surge of energy, he began to help load the goods onto the bullock cart, showing no sign of his injury.

”I think I should also come hunting with you in the future. Little Little will eventually have to go to school.”
