Supreme Warrior in the City

”Ah?” Su Yang’s eyes widened, his face full of an incredulous expression.

”How is it, are you shocked?” the man said coldly, ”Otherwise, how could my Holy Martial Realm rank in the top ten of the Intermediate World? Your White Jade Realm is nothing but food for the Demon Beasts, completely incomparable to my Holy Martial Realm!”

”Food for the Demon Beasts?” Su Yang looked at the man again in confusion, clearly not understanding what he meant.

”Don’t understand?” The man sneered, ”You all really live a pitiful life, so many people in an Intermediate World, even the Saint Emperor, have no understanding of this universe. Always kept as stored food by the Demon Beasts, unknowingly, truly pathetic!”

”Stored food?” Su Yang frowned and asked, ”What exactly do you mean?”

The man said, ”It’s simple, your area has been designated as a region for the Demon Beast Clan. The Demon Beast Clan’s regions don’t farm like the Guardian Gods; they directly devour worlds. However, the area allocated to the Demon Beast Clan includes more than just your world. They set a time before devouring, so your world is considered reserve food for the Demon Beast Clan!”

Su Yang’s heart stirred, this man seemed to know a lot about these matters. Could it be that he knows about farming? If that’s the case, it would be great, Su Yang might be able to ask him and find out what farming is all about!

On the surface, Su Yang pretended to know nothing, curiously asking, ”Farming? Reserve food, what... what are you talking about? Demon Beast Clan devouring worlds, why do they do that? And why do the Guardian Gods farm?”

”You really know nothing!” the man said coldly, ”Let me put it this way, by now you are considered at the Saint Venerable level. You should know, the cultivation of the Demon Beast Clan is different from your White Jade Realm. Their cultivation doesn’t absorb Spiritual Energy; they need Spiritual Sources!”

Su Yang nodded, as he was aware of this situation.

”But you should also know that the Demon Beast Clan is actually very powerful!” the man continued, ”According to their power, if they wanted, they could take over the entire White Jade Realm at any time. White Jade Realm has Spiritual Energy, why don’t they occupy an Intermediate World for cultivation, instead of using Spiritual Sources?”

Su Yang immediately shook his head, as this had been one of his long-standing questions.

”It’s simple because they can’t cultivate using the Spiritual Energy of an Intermediate World!” the man said coldly, ”Guardian Gods are protected by the Heavenly Dao, the Heavenly Warriors defy Heaven with Earth Principles. The Demon Beasts are just a bunch of animals; the Heavenly Dao doesn’t protect them, the Earth Principle doesn’t support them, they have nothing. The Spiritual Energy of an Intermediate World they cannot absorb directly, nor can they absorb the Heavenly Dao’s energy directly; they must find another way to cultivate.”

”Spiritual Sources are the cultivation pathway for the Demon Beast Clan. Spiritual Sources are the most original form of Spiritual Energy, essentially the state before Spiritual Energy is released. The Demon Beast Clan can only absorb this form of Spiritual Energy. Hence, they need a large amount of Spiritual Sources to support their cultivation.”

The man looked at Su Yang and asked, ”But do you know how Spiritual Sources are obtained?”

Su Yang shook his head, many things the man said were things he had heard before but didn’t know the specifics. And some were things he had never heard of, leaving him utterly shocked.

It’s undeniable that Su Yang’s encounter with this man here was well worth it. He finally managed to unravel some secrets, those he had desperately wanted to understand but couldn’t.

”I just mentioned, Spiritual Sources are the most original form of Spiritual Energy, the form before Spiritual Energy is released,” the man said, ”In any world, the origin of Spiritual Energy exists as Spiritual Sources. Spiritual Sources are the source of a world’s Spiritual Energy.”

”I see!” Su Yang was enlightened, and simultaneously, he said in shock, ”So, the Demon Beast Clan devouring a world is actually devouring the Spiritual Sources of that world?”

”You can’t put it that way!” the man shook his head, ”They devour a world to obtain its Spiritual Sources. The so-called devouring is after swallowing the Spiritual Sources, they then swallow the Spiritual Energy, swallow the life forms that absorb the Spiritual Energy, and return that Spiritual Energy to the Spiritual Sources. This process is actually very cruel; you should be able to understand. Once the Demon Beast Clan decides to devour a world, all life in that world is devoured, and the Spiritual Energy they absorbed is returned entirely to the Spiritual Sources.”

”In general, for the Demon Beast Clan, regardless of the Cultivation World’s level, as long as they can devour all life in that world, the total amount of Spiritual Sources remains unchanged. Therefore, the Demon Beast Clan will not devour all worlds in their territory, because once they exhaust their reserve food, it’s hard for them to develop further, so they gradually devour these worlds.”

The man looked at Su Yang and spoke softly, ”Your White Jade Realm is in such a situation, it’s reserve food for the Demon Beasts. Hence, no external force interferes with your cultivation, which leads to your cultivation level being low, far less than other Intermediate Worlds. Just two Demon Beast Dynasties defeated your three Saint Emperors, because you’ve never experienced a struggle for life and death. Your Saint Emperors have the realm, but their battle power is truly insufficient!”

Su Yang was completely shocked, he had never imagined that the so-called devouring of worlds by the Demon Beast Clan was like this.

If this man hadn’t explained it all to him, he wouldn’t have dreamed of such things.

Thinking about the situation of the Nine Realms, fortunately, the Demon Beast Clan finally compromised back then. It’s important to know that the Six Trigrams Saint Venerable wanted to devour the Nine Realms!

Thinking about the fate of the White Jade Realm made Su Yang shudder with fear.

Becoming food for the Demon Beast Clan seems to lead to an even worse fate!

Back then, the beings of the White Jade Realm couldn’t even escape, trapped securely by the Demon Beast Clan, ultimately completely devoured by those Demon Beasts, truly tragic.

”What about the Guardian Gods farming then?” Su Yang quickly asked, this was what he most wanted to know. Because the Nine Realms were the farming grounds of the Guardian Gods.

”That’s even more pathetic...” The man chuckled coldly, looking at Su Yang, suddenly said, ”Do you know what oxen plowing fields is?”

Su Yang nodded; of course, he knew this. He just didn’t expect it to exist in the Intermediate World too.
