Outside Of Time

Chapter 1812: Brilliant Heaven

A brown wind swept across the darkened sky, wailing as it passed over the desolate land.

It carried death. It carried emptiness.

The dust it stirred, illuminated by the dim light, resembled fragments of time crushed into mottled, twisted shadows.

The entire world seemed cursed, exuding an aura of utter despair.

The sky was a sheet of ash-black.

Like a massive, oppressive curtain, it hung heavily over the earth, as if it might collapse at any moment, crushing everything into endless darkness.

The air was thick with wisps of anomalous matter, undulating like living tendrils—twisting, entangling, and condensing into a near-solid mist that spread endlessly in all directions.

The earth had long lost its vitality, reduced to a state of decay.

Cracked and fissured, the ground was scarred with ravines of varying depths, like grotesque mouths howling against fate.

Yet life was not entirely absent.

From those ravines, tenacious plants grew—but warped by the environment, the anomalous substances, or perhaps their very nature, each exuded an aura of malevolence.

Their branches twisted like tormented spirits, covered in sharp thorns, some glinting with eerie light as if warning intruders to stay away.

Their leaves took grotesque forms—some broad as palm fans but riddled with holes, as if gnawed by unseen forces; others slender as swords with serrated edges that trembled in the wind, ready to lash out like blades.

Beyond the flora, this desolate and perilous land was prowled by colossal divine beasts.

Their appearances were even more grotesque.

Some bore countless eyes, each gleaming with cold, cruel light, as if piercing through all disguises.

Others were armored in iron-hard scales that shimmered with a sinister luster under the ashen sky, each step leaving deep imprints that made the earth tremble.

A few sported massive wings whose gusts carried a decaying aura and the icy touch of corruption, chilling to the bone.

Yet the most striking features of this grotesque wasteland were not these creatures...

But the towering temples!

Each temple radiated primal grandeur, as if standing since antiquity, uniformly styled and scattered across the expanse.

Their walls were built from monolithic stones carved with obscure runes that pulsed faintly, like the breath of the world.

The towering gates bore intricate reliefs, each depicting—above all else—vertical strokes symbolizing light!

As if light itself was these temples’ object of worship!

This place was called Brilliant Heaven!

It existed beneath the ancient continent, its scope mirroring the lands above. Historically... Brilliant Heaven was the true Wanggu.

The first realm beheld by cultivators ascending from the Profound Earth Star Ring.

The cataclysmic war between cultivators and the Brilliant Heaven God Race in ages past had cost the former dearly, yet they emerged victorious.

The fruits of victory were sweet and profound—granting cultivators entry to the upper star ring, a homeland, and the creation of Wanggu.

Wanggu became Brilliant Heaven’s sky.

The Brilliant Heaven God Race fell. Most gods were suppressed, their imperial lineage sealed away. Their crown prince could only endure as a Golden Crow, atoning beyond.

The entire Brilliant Heaven continent was buried.

The reforged Wanggu loomed above.

With Heavenly Daos elevated, the cultivator system blossomed for the first time in the Ninth Star Ring, further sealing Brilliant Heaven’s fate.

Thus, with time, Brilliant Heaven faded into legend.

The Brilliant Heaven God Race became history.

Few cultivators ever came here.

Until today!

A day destined to appear ordinary yet prove extraordinary.

First, a wail echoed from the sky as a figure tumbled down.

Then, an unprecedented sound of heaven-rending erupted across the ashen firmament!

BOOOOM!

The deafening roar instantly swept through Brilliant Heaven. As it reverberated, invisible hands seemed to tear the sky apart—a colossal rift splitting the heavens!

Two figures emerged from the fissure!

The moment they appeared, the anomalous substances of Brilliant Heaven churned. An alien presence radiated from the duo, sweeping across the land.

Where it passed, anomalous substances began melting away!

For this was the aura of immortals!

Suppressing Brilliant Heaven!

The instant this aura manifested, the entire realm plunged into surreal turmoil.

The sky twisted.

Corruption dissipated.

Flora trembled.

Beasts prostrated.

Most affected were the silent temples dotting the land!

As if infused with life, they shuddered violently in an instant.

Accompanied by deep, resonant booms, it was as though this primordial world was awakening—

And gradually unleashing a heaven-shaking roar!

Within these temples, divine statues shuddered.

The auras they emitted were formidable, seemingly transcending mortal comprehension. Yet now... many of these statues, unable to withstand the pressure from the sky, began to crack.

The source of all this was the two figures who had stepped out of the rift in the heavens.

”This... is Brilliant Heaven!”

Old Master Seventh gazed down at the land, observing the temples and sensing everything around him, his tone tinged with nostalgia.

”Back then, I followed my elders here... to wage war against the Brilliant Heaven God Race!”

At this, he turned to Xu Qing, his expression grave.

”Do not underestimate the Brilliant Heaven God Race. Though They may seem weaker compared to other formidable gods...”

”They are one of the rare god races gifted with soul talents—not just a few individuals, but Their entire race!”

”In all my years, I’ve never seen another god with such a trait.”

Xu Qing’s eyes gleamed with intrigue upon hearing this.

Gods with soul talents were exceedingly rare—he had only encountered two.

One was Lord God Chiuz of the Fourth Star Ring, devoured by Erniu.

The other was the Starry Eye Goddess, now resting in his storage bag.

”So, our war against them came at a devastating cost. The entire Profound Earth Star Ring was affected... After our victory, the elders conducted extensive research on this race.”

”Due to my status, I participated and learned the final conclusion.”

”Brilliant Heaven itself... holds an extraordinarily unique significance!”

”We even speculated that Brilliant Heaven... might very well be the first star born within its star ring!”

”And the Brilliant Heaven God Race—its first indigenous inhabitants!”

”Otherwise... why would the fragmented-face descend here?”

Xu Qing’s mind reeled at these words.

”The Primordial Home Planet!!”

He immediately thought of the star in the Fourth Star Ring, but upon closer consideration, the two didn’t quite align.

”The Primordial Home Planet is tied to the secrets of divine resurrection, hence the presence of divine sins. But this place... doesn’t fit.”
