Chapter 210: Chapter 140: 0 Injuries, 17 Kills, Do You Understand the Value of a Single Man from Shishi!_6

Since the day of her birthday when she had parted ways with Zhang Beixing, she had been wanting to ask him about his trip to Yanjing—when he would leave, which train he would take. However, asking him so directly seemed too intentional.

So, Sophia Zhou had asked Chen Rourou to get Zhang Beixing’s booking information. That was how she had managed to ’coincidentally’ run into him and ’coincidentally’ end up sitting next to him.

Otherwise, if she usually took the train, no matter how good the view from the window seat was, she would never sit there!

Unaware of Sophia Zhou’s little schemes, Zhang Beixing simply turned to her and asked, ”Speaking of which, I didn’t get to ask you last time, what are you doing in Yanjing over the summer break? Working?”

”Not at all. I’m going to visit my brother. He works in Yanjing. For the past two years, I’ve visited him every summer break,” Sophia Zhou said.

”Oh, I see! How long do you plan to stay in Yanjing?”

”I’m not sure. It could be half a month, maybe a month, or even just a week. After all, my brother is pretty busy, so I’ll have to see how things go.”

As Sophia Zhou answered Zhang Beixing’s questions, she looked at him and inquired, ”Speaking of which, Beixing, what are you planning to do in Yanjing?”

”Me? I’m going for martial arts training!” Zhang Beixing replied candidly upon hearing Sophia Zhou’s question, feeling there was no need to hide such a thing.

”Martial arts training? Beixing, you’re already so skilled, you still need to continue training?”

Upon hearing Zhang Beixing say this, Sophia Zhou’s pretty eyes sparkled, brimming with curiosity.

In her eyes, Zhang Beixing—who was capable of producing the sounds of Tiger Roar and Rolling Thunder, and the rush of mighty rivers when he threw punches, and who could single-handedly defeat seventeen human traffickers—was already at an impressive level.

Yet Zhang Beixing still planned to continue training.

How strong did he intend to become before he would stop?

Sophia Zhou was genuinely surprised.

It was at this moment that Zhang Beixing replied, ”Of course, I have to keep training. There’s no end to learning, just as there’s no end to martial arts. I’m the kind of guy who aspires to be the Gun King Grandmaster. My goal is to use my spear to poke at people’s pimples!”

”What???”

Sophia Zhou was utterly baffled upon hearing Zhang Beixing’s words.

She couldn’t quite keep up with Zhang Beixing’s train of thought. Using a spear to poke pimples—was he sure it wouldn’t be the person’s head getting burst instead? Hmm... Come to think of it, the pimples would indeed be gone! Yikes, that’s strangely logical!

...

As their conversation continued, the one-and-a-half-hour train journey flew by in an instant.

By the time Zhang Beixing, Liu Yi, and Sophia Zhou got off the high-speed train, it was already noon.

Looking at the environment that was familiar yet mixed with a touch of strangeness, Liu Yi couldn’t help but feel a bit nostalgic.

How many years had it been since he last returned after that incident? Five years or six? He couldn’t quite remember. He hadn’t expected Yanjing to change so much in just a few short years. He almost didn’t recognize it. Change is good! Everything in the world must look forward! Even though he had once resolved to retire, hadn’t he come out of retirement after meeting Zhang Beixing?

Thinking this way, Liu Yi turned his head to look towards Zhang Beixing.

He saw Zhang Beixing walk over after bidding farewell to Sophia Zhou, who was being picked up by her sister-in-law.

Zhang Beixing looked at Liu Yi and asked, ”Teacher Liu, what’s our plan next? Are we going directly to see Martial Uncle?”

”No.”

Liu Yi replied and explained to Zhang Beixing, ”Your Martial Uncle is quite busy these next two days. If we went now, he wouldn’t have much time for us. We’ll have to wait a couple more days.”

”What does Martial Uncle do? Does he still run a martial arts gym?”

Zhang Beixing couldn’t help but be curious about this Martial Uncle whom he had never met. He wondered what he did that kept him so busy he wouldn’t have any time for two whole days.

Liu Yi’s answer was succinct:

”The gym is still there, but he hasn’t been in it lately. He’s been specially hired by the local military unit as a combat instructor. It happens once a year, usually around this time.”

Zhang Beixing suddenly understood. He recalled Liu Yi previously mentioning that their Yanjing Yue Family Fist Gym had official endorsement and military connections, which was why the gym had never been shut down.

At first, he had been quite puzzled. Considering how lethal the Yue Family Fist was, he had wondered why the authorities not only didn’t suppress it but actually endorsed it. Now it seemed the Yanjing Yue Family Fist Gym had already integrated with the officials; they were practically one of them. And why would their own people cause trouble for their own people?

Having figured this out, Zhang Beixing didn’t say anything more.
