Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Chapter 107: Chapter 103: Weren’t you always wearing weights before, Brother Zhang?

”Alright, the money has been transferred. You can check it. In two days, on the morning of the 26th, our training camp will end, so you really have to give it your all for this last stretch!”

Kang Gu patted Zhang Beixing on the shoulder as he fiddled with his phone, informing him their training camp was about to end.

Hearing this, Zhang Beixing was taken aback. He clearly hadn’t expected time to fly by so fast. In the blink of an eye, the two-week training camp for Sophia Zhou and the others was drawing to a close.

He had thought there were many more days left.

What a pity.

He’d only earned a little more than one standard fee from them.

If only they could stay a few more months.

It’s quite possible that Zhang Beixing could have made enough from them to put a down payment on a car.

”Forget it; what has to end will end. There’s no such thing as a never-ending feast. Coach Kang, let’s keep in touch, yeah? If something like this comes up again, remember to hit me up. I’ll give you a 10% discount next time!” Zhang Beixing said with a smile, having adjusted his mindset.

Hearing this, Coach Kang replied with a laugh, ”Definitely!”

Then he gave Zhang Beixing another pat on the shoulder. ”Alright, go practice with them. Those little rascals have been clamoring for you since morning. They probably know they don’t have many days left to train and want to give it their all in this final stretch, really push themselves.”

”Deal, leave it to me. I’ll make sure they’re thoroughly trained and obedient!”

After stretching his limbs, Zhang Beixing agreed with a smile, then headed over to the group of sports students to start today’s training session.

He had been affected by Qi and Blood Deficiency for some time previously.

Although he was serious during practice, he still wasn’t at his peak.

Now that the Qi and Blood Deficiency was gone, Zhang Beixing naturally had to bring out his best to train with Sophia Zhou and the others.

...

During the practice, in the blink of an eye, it was twelve o’clock noon.

Having been busy all morning, Master Zhang sat in the stands, eating the meal Coach Kang had bought him, replenishing the energy and nutrients lost from the morning’s exercise.

After finishing all the food, Zhang Beixing let out a contented burp, feeling utterly satisfied.

He sat and rested for a while, feeling the food rapidly digesting in his stomach and intestines.

Zhang Beixing stood up, ready to call Sophia Zhou and the others to continue their training.

But before he could call out to them, a shout came from the nearby basketball court.

”Yo, Brother Bei, fancy a game of basketball?”

Hearing this, Zhang Beixing turned to look and saw an outgoing young man, about 1.8 meters tall, holding a basketball. He had a smile on his face and was looking at Zhang Beixing.

This person was an old acquaintance: Li Chang!

He was the one who had challenged Zhang Beixing before and ended up calling him ”Dad” after a sound thrashing.

But after so many days of training together, he had developed complete respect for Zhang Beixing and had even become quite friendly with him.

Obviously, Li Chang was the one who had just called out.

Zhang Beixing raised an eyebrow, pointed to himself, and asked in confusion, ”Play basketball? With me? Why?”

He was puzzled. He’d never given off the impression that he enjoyed basketball, so why would this person suddenly make such a proposal?

”Because you’ve got great physical fitness, Brother Bei,” Li Chang replied, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. ”Watching you during our training, you can do everything, and your explosive power and speed are excellent. I bet you’d be awesome at basketball too. How about a couple of games?”

”There’s really no need. Mainly because I don’t know how to play this game,” Zhang Beixing said, spreading his hands in a gesture of honesty.

If it were another sport, like soccer or badminton, he had some experience and could play along.

But basketball...

To be honest, Zhang Beixing had hardly ever played. His build back then hadn’t been as strong and robust as it was now, so naturally, he had shied away from it.

”Tsk, Brother Bei, you make it sound like everyone is born knowing how to play basketball. If you don’t know, just learn! With your physical fitness, picking up basketball should be a breeze, right? Plus, basketball is easy to play. You just get the ball, aim for the hoop, and shoot. That’s it. If it goes in, you score; if it doesn’t, you don’t. It’s dead simple!”

”Besides, we’re not playing any serious games here, just friends messing around for fun, for the atmosphere. C’mon, Brother Bei, join us for a couple of games,” Li Chang pressed, insisting that knowing how to play wasn’t important.

The real point was whether Zhang Beixing was willing to join.

Seeing Li Chang’s persistence, Zhang Beixing felt rather helpless.

So he looked at Coach Kang, hoping Coach Kang would intervene.

However, when Coach Kang learned he couldn’t play basketball, an inexplicable smile spread across his face.

Noticing this, Zhang Beixing paused, instinctively feeling that this old fox was probably up to no good.

As if to confirm his suspicion, the next second, Kang Gu was heard chuckling. ”Hey, Zhang, if someone’s asking you to play basketball, just go play.”

”Even if you can’t play, just joining in on the fun is fine.”

”You’re all friends. What’s winning or losing among friends? Having fun is what’s most important, am I right, everyone?”

As he said this, Kang Gu’s voice suddenly rose several degrees, almost shouting the words out.

Hearing him, the sports students were initially taken aback, but they quickly understood what Kang Gu was up to.

They all burst into laughter, replying in unison, ”Yes!”

Even the onlooking students from Shi University joined in without exception.

It wasn’t that they were being disloyal.

The main thing was that Zhang Beixing’s performance had been just too versatile. Now, hearing from Zhang Beixing’s own mouth that he apparently couldn’t play basketball, they naturally wanted to stir things up and see just how bad he really was.

After all, compared to putting someone on a pedestal, seeing someone considered god-like reveal a human side was obviously a much more explosive event.

Zhang Beixing was clearly aware of this as well.

But he didn’t make a big deal out of it.

Because from the very beginning, he was human, not an all-powerful deity!

Listening to the egging sounds around him, Zhang Beixing sighed, ran a hand through his hair, and slicked it back. ”I really don’t know what to do with you guys,” he said.

Then he turned to Li Chang. ”Let me be clear: I really can’t play basketball. So, when we start, if I accidentally commit any fouls, don’t bother pointing them out. Like I said, I don’t know how to play.”

”Haha, of course, we all started out not knowing how to play. If you make a mistake, we’ll just give you a hint and... wait, what? Brother Bei, did you just say *not* to point them out to you?”

Li Chang paused, feeling something was off with that statement.

No, normally, if you couldn’t play, you’d want them to point out your mistakes so you could take their advice and correct yourself. But here he was, doing the opposite, rejecting advice... Man, talk about stubbornly heading down the wrong path!

”What’s wrong? Is there a problem? If there’s a problem, then I’m not playing!” Zhang Beixing said bluntly, seeing his remark nearly fry Li Chang’s mental circuits, ready to make a tactical retreat.

Hearing this, Li Chang quickly recovered and shook his head. ”No, no, no, how could there be a problem? Brother Bei, we’re really grateful that you’re willing to play with us. Come on, our team is one person short. Brother Bei, you come join our team. I’ll carry you!”

This kid’s got some nerve!

Seeing Li Chang’s confidence, Zhang Beixing stopped making excuses.

He just said, ”Hold on a moment.”

Then, to the confusion of everyone around, he began to remove the black vest he was wearing.

When they saw Zhang Beixing doing this, at first, the sports students didn’t think much of it.

But then...

THUMP!

A muffled sound echoed as the seemingly ordinary black vest hit the ground, instantly kicking up a cloud of dust!

In an instant, the sports students were stunned.

Kang Gu was taken aback; the smile of someone enjoying the show slowly faded from his face, replaced by astonishment and shock!

He rubbed his eyes, confirming several times that he wasn’t seeing things.

His eyes wide, barely able to contain himself, he let out an earth-shattering cry:

”HOLY CRAP?!”

With that exclamation, it was as if a chain reaction had been triggered.

Every single one of the sports students let out similar cries!

This was just too damn shocking!

Who would have thought that the plain black vest Zhang Beixing wore every day was actually a weighted vest?

”Look at all that dust! It must be at least ten pounds, right?”

”Ten pounds? Too low, you’re thinking too small! I say fifty pounds! Who agrees or disagrees?”

”I disagree! This is clearly heavier than fifty pounds. Remember, weighted vests get heavier once they’ve absorbed sweat. The actual weight is likely more than fifty pounds!”

”Damn! So, you mean, Brother Beixing usually trained with us while wearing that weight? And despite wearing something so heavy, he still demolished us?”

”My god! And I thought we’d pushed Brother Beixing to his limits! Turns out, Brother Beixing was still holding back, damn it! Crap, now I finally understand why Brother Beixing’s stamina and speed are so insane. Doing so much exercise every day with fifty pounds of weight—of course he’d be incredible!”

Seriously, man, are you training with the Eight Inner Gates? You think you’re some kind of legendary anime hero?

”Right now, I’m just wondering one thing: once Brother Beixing takes off those weights, just how terrifying will his overall strength be?”

”.......”
