Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Once Tiger started ranting, he got carried away and forgot all his righteous indignation, which led to a barrage of mockery in the comments. Fortunately, Tiger managed to regain his composure and quickly steered the conversation back on track.

”So I think the biggest surprise that ’The Imperial Empire’ brought me this time is the screenwriter.”

”As we all know, the director of ’The Imperial Empire’ is Director Qiu, who directed many classic historical dramas in his early years. Although he gradually faded from everyone’s sight after going to work for the government, the aesthetic sense of the older generation is still amazing. Even though the domestic entertainment industry has been running for decades, Director Qiu is still as sharp as ever. His shooting and scene choreography are simply superb!”

”Even because the aesthetics of the older generation are completely different from the current assembly-line shooting mode, many parts will really be a breath of fresh air for the audience who are used to seeing the stereotypical mode. As for why, after so long, everyone still likes Director Qiu’s style, well, those who know, know, I won’t say more.”

”As for Xiao He, needless to say, any of my long-time viewers know that I’m a blind fan of Xiao He. I’ve already been labeled a biased and brainless Xiao He fan by some fans because of my speaking up for him several times. Uh, since that’s the case, I’ll just reiterate here—”

Tiger straightened his clothes, looked at the camera very solemnly, and said seriously:

”Those people are right, I’m just hyping up Xiao He. Anyway, I don’t know what others are like, I only know that as I kept hyping him up, Xiao He won Best Actor, and then as I kept hyping him up, Xiao He won Best Actor in a TV series. And now that ’The Imperial Concubine’ has landed smoothly, I don’t need to wait for the first day’s viewership data to come out before saying this. I’ll just say it here: if Xiao He doesn’t win an award for this role, I might as well just announce my retirement from the internet...”

”If the director and actors are both competent, then whether the show is good or not depends entirely on how the screenwriter performs.”

”Especially for a historical drama like ’The Imperial Empire,’ which requires careful research, if the character of Emperor Chen is not portrayed well, he may be criticized and cause the whole drama to fall apart. However, from the first episode’s seizure of power in the city to the fourth episode’s consolidation of military power and the southward march... the plot develops very quickly, but the pacing is quite good, making it very addictive to watch.”

”This screenwriter is truly a top-tier writer.”

Tiger gave a thumbs up: ”I even searched the screenwriter’s name and found out that this screenwriter’s main job isn’t screenwriting? Sure enough, those who beat their peers are all from other industries.”

”But why is this screenwriter named Qin Nianhuang? Is that his real name? Or is it a stage name? It seems like the screenwriter is a die-hard fan of Emperor Chen.”

”Although I don’t know how the plot of ’The Imperial Empire’ will unfold later, I think the current opening is a sure thing, and I highly recommend it to everyone...”

...

Tiger’s evaluation is indeed relatively true, and it reflects the same feelings of many people after watching the first few episodes of ”The Imperial Empire”. Therefore, many people also gave his video a thumbs up.

Before long, the video went viral.

Tiger, however, watched his video repeatedly after posting it, rubbing his chin and pondering in confusion: ”It’s strange, I feel like I’ve forgotten something.”

Especially when he was looking up information about the creative team, he felt that someone looked strangely familiar... but not exactly familiar, yet there was a strong sense of déjà vu—when exactly was this?

Who looks familiar?

”That’s strange, that’s really strange!”

Tiger scratched his head frantically, not understanding where his vague sense of familiarity came from.

But his intuition told him that if he figured this out, it might become another interesting topic—

Before Tiger could recall some details he had overlooked, his wild guesses about screenwriter Qin on the internet quickly gained approval from another account.

【This Professor Qin is really one of our professors! But he’s a contracted employee; his main job is as a history editor, specifically responsible for reviewing documents. He has an incredibly strong knowledge of history and culture, and he genuinely admires Emperor Chen. He even bragged to us about changing his name, saying he might be a descendant of Emperor Chen and would idolize him for life—but who knew Professor Qin would be so amazing, going straight into screenwriting!】

In order to prove the authenticity of their words, this account also attached a photo of themselves with their teacher when commenting.

The professor inside does look a lot like Qin, the screenwriter of ”The Imperial Empire”.

Netizens were utterly shocked.

【If that’s the case, I admit his admiration for Emperor Chen far surpasses mine.】

【So people really can change their names to what they like? To be honest, I’ve liked a certain anime waifu for a long time, could I...?】

【When you suddenly realize that you can actually change your name to ”be like”:】

【If that’s the case, I’ve always wanted to change my name to Lin Nianxiao. My brother Xiao is someone I’d follow for a lifetime!】

【Wow, that makes sense! Then I’ll change my name to Wang Sixiao!】

【Let me think about it. Brother Xiao and I share the same surname! So I’ll call myself Xiao Qulan!】

【Ahem, the name on your ID card isn’t your online name, don’t change it randomly!】

【Friendly reminder: While you can change your name, it’s a very complicated process, so please be cautious.】

【Looks like I can watch ”The Imperial Empire” with peace of mind now. True fans wouldn’t go so far as to portray the protagonist negatively, would they? If they dare to make Emperor Chen a love-struck fool, we’ll smash their heads off!】

Immediately, the hashtag ”【The screenwriter of Emperor’s Ambition Qin’s passionate true fans】” also became a trending topic. It then surprisingly overtook the promotion of ”Emperor’s Ambition” itself and Xiao He’s fan traffic at an astonishing speed, firmly occupying the top spot on the list, and is still spreading outwards like a virus.

For a moment, it was unclear whether the screenwriter’s decision to change the name for love was abstract enough to attract everyone’s attention, or whether the script of ”The Imperial Empire” was so excellent that it won everyone’s unanimous approval.

In the temporary rest area at the event venue.

Xiao He raised his head, exchanged glances with Director Qiu, and finally looked at Screenwriter Qin.

So, does this mean our scriptwriter became famous first?

Xiao He’s expression was complicated.

This wasn’t just a simple moment of popularity; it went viral and became an overnight sensation.

Following Tiger, various bloggers also posted videos to discuss and analyze the topic.

Screenwriter Qin’s popularity across the internet far surpasses that of the other main actors, even surpassing that of Xiao He, a pillar of the show’s popularity.

This is absolutely outrageous!

Fortunately, screenwriter Qin is very talented and of good character. He has no blemishes in his early life and is also popular with students because he was a university professor for a period of time. Therefore, he was not negatively affected by this wave of attention.

Currently, most of the online jokes are made by early students about Teacher Qin, and netizens are also playing along, giving themselves idol-themed names online.

In response, screenwriter Qin scratched his head, feeling both pleased and confused: ”I don’t know why they suddenly care about this, especially since it happened so many years ago, yet they still dug it up.”

Actually, this can be considered a good thing. The fact that screenwriter Qin changed his idol’s name was just a trigger. The reason why it has such a high level of discussion now is that screenwriters’ presence is gradually rising in the public eye.

After all, the ecosystem of the Chinese entertainment industry is not particularly good.

Good scripts exist today, but screenwriters have historically had little say in the matter.

As a result, all the remaining good scripts were ruined, making it increasingly difficult to stand out. Moreover, there are very few screenwriters in the industry who can directly break out of the circle. In most cases, even if a work is a huge hit, no matter how excellent or eye-catching it is, in the end, it is the actors and directors who are promoted, not the screenwriters.

This time, the mind-bending concept of the first four episodes of ”The Imperial Empire” truly showcased screenwriter Qin’s solid skills. She was able to restore real history in such an exciting and logical way without ruining the character of Emperor Chen. It’s no wonder that screenwriter Qin is so popular now.

As the person who became an instant hit after the premiere of ”The Imperial Empire”, screenwriter Qin said that she had something to say.

”I can really explain why I changed my name! My idol was definitely a factor in the decision, but another major reason was that my original name didn’t sound good, so I changed it!”

Screenwriter Qin was deeply saddened.

“Back then, my name was given to me by my grandfather, but he wasn’t very educated and just gave me a lowly name on the spot. Later, when it came time to register my household registration, he couldn’t think of a name, so he just slapped his forehead and changed the lowly name into my real name.”

”So when I grew up, I really wanted to change my name to something more impressive. At that time, I was particularly fond of Emperor Chen, so I just slapped my forehead... and that’s how it ended up like this.”

Well, it’s clear that the Qin family likes to make decisions on a whim.

Xiao He’s lips twitched: ”Teacher Qin, in the future, when you make decisions, please don’t just act on impulse!”

After all, the name Qin Nianhuang is certainly not unpleasant to hear, but it does sound a bit cringeworthy.
