Beastmaster of the Ages

Tianming only needed seconds to kill his foe. What was supposed to be a duel had morphed into nothing more than a test for Tianming’s attack power in the Realm of Chaos, and it had proven that Tianming could fight even more above his true level compared to the Realm of Order! Defeating someone eleven levels above him was a new record! Then again, the enemy had also underestimated Tianming, who didn’t hesitate to use his strongest move to achieve an explosive result.

The Godly Sands were completely silent after witnessing Yueling Xi’s death. Tianming basked in the astral glow of his disintegrating corpse as he walked towards the area where the betting chips were kept. Mu Qingqing and the Flame Universal Root were waiting for him. The scattering astral ash looked like romantic fireworks, making for the perfect backdrop for the handsome hero to reunite with his captured beauty. It was the perfect picture, save for the fact that Tianming held Mu Qingqing’s hand in one hand and the root in the other as he walked towards the members of Nullity Guild with a smile.

”The imperial son is invincible!” cried hundreds of them, but the others around them were still silent from the shock. Nullity had always been one of the weaker factions in the arena, and they had never experienced a moment of shared triumph in their long history of huddling together for warmth and protection. It wasn’t that Li Tianzi didn’t care about them; he simply had far more important missions to deal with such as defending the Chaos Star Ruins of Nullity. Even if he would go to the arena to protect the guild, other starcages could do the same too, which would create an arms race that would result in the arena losing its purpose in the first place.

Not to mention, there were far too many people who had lost hope due to the divine defect. Still, Tianming’s arrival would help alleviate some of their suffering. In fact, his personality and current level of power made him all the more suited to come to the arena to challenge destiny alongside those from Nullity.

This was Tianming’s key strength. He had risen up from the lowest of worlds and didn’t throw his weight around in the slightest. He was able to chat and riff with the likes of imperatores as well as have heart-to-hearts with normal people like Ying He. He blended in with the crowd and became their ruler. When he saw the tearful looks of Dao Feng, Qin Yan and the excited looks from the other guild members, he knew that his path towards sovereignhood in the Realm of Chaos was beginning.

”Come!” Tianming said. He handed the root to Qin Yan with a smile. ”I know you love that man of yours, so take it to him!”

”Thank you, Imperial Son!” Qin Yan received the root with shaking hands. While this was nothing but an opportunity for Tianming to show off, this was something that had changed the couple’s life. Dao Feng received the root from his wife and began to sob with jubilant relief. Yueling Xi had died while he lived, an outcome that he would’ve never dared to imagine. Their joy contrasted starkly against the sullen mood of those from Yueling Starcage.

Tianming sensed the countless cold glares coming from behind him, at least thousands. There would be more and more chances in the future, so he didn’t really mind. He would bear the weight of their animosity to spare the hopefuls of the Nullity Guild from their pressure as their imperial son. He even felt the skypole stars warm up gently. Grandpa, Grandma, you must be happy that I did what I did too, huh? This was enough for him.

”Imperial Son!” someone said, finally no longer able to hold on.

Tianming turned back and saw Yueling Momo in a dark corner in the distance, still smiling. ”Will you be fighting in the Dongshen Arena with the same ruleset of losing if you don’t defeat your opponent in fifteen minutes from now on?”

”Of course! I welcome anyone who wants to challenge me to go to Nullity Guild. Whether I’ll accept depends on what you’re willing to bet on it! Not to mention, I only have one wife, so I can only lose once. Challengers best be sure to find something to bet that’s worthwhile enough for me to chip my wife in!”

”Haha...” Yueling Momo still managed a laugh. ”Imperial Son, you truly are emotionally rich. Your straightforward frankness is refreshing.”

”You’re the emotionally rich one. How are you still able to laugh like that after your son died?”

The whole of Godly Sands fell dead silent. Yueling Momo’s face twitched before he calmly raised his hand. ”Imperial Son, I won’t be seeing you off today.”

”Keep holding it then, suit yourself.” Tianming turned to address the members of the guild. ”Brothers, let’s go back and celebrate!”

The others could smell the tension in the air and didn’t want to stay longer than they had to. They quickly followed Tianming out.

With them gone, Yueling Momo seemed to shed tears of blood. ”Make sure to dial up the heat against everyone from Nullity.”

”That’s right! Even if we can’t kill the imperial son, that doesn’t mean we can’t kill the rest!”
