Beastmaster of the Ages

The white sphere looked like it was nature’s most beautiful creation.

“Why’d he become so desperate just from hearing the name Tian Jiu?” Moran softly asked.

“Because he knew the truth of the name,” Tianming replied.

“What truth...?” Moran paused in confusion.

Tianming picked her up, placing her in his palm. Looking at the thumb-sized girl before him, he said in a deep, serious voice, “Tian Jiu was the progenitor of the wonderians, and the origin of their ‘divine’ race!”

“I know that.”

“Then do you know how she created the wonderians?” Tianming asked.

“I don’t.”

“She directly split her own body, dividing herself into the first wonderian pairs, who then slowly propagated to today’s scale,” Tianming explained. The legend was still incredible even with his current knowledge. It was widely circulated across the Upper Star Ruin, and Yin Chen had long since relayed it to Tianming.

“One person splitting into ten pairs of people? Then did she perish afterward, or did she control those ten pairs of bodies and live on?” Moran curiously asked.

“She perished, completely vanishing from the long river of history in the Upper Star Ruin,” Tianming said.

“Oh... so that’s why there’s a legend of Tian Jiu’s rebirth?” Moran asked in a low voice.

“Yes!” Tianming took a slight breath and solemnly continued, “Therein lies the key! On the day Tian Jiu split, she left behind her last words!”

“What were they?”

“A person becomes a race, endlessly proliferating. On the day of ascension, Tian Jiu shall return,” Tianming slowly repeated the quote.

“The first part refers to the people she split up into growing to become today’s wonderians? And the so-called ‘day of ascension’ should be the day the race reaches the top of the Realm of Order, upon which she will be reborn and return? The question is, what’ll she do once she returns?” Moran frowned.

“That depends on how her descendants interpret it!” Tianming smiled.

“So how do the current wonderians interpret it?”

Tianming reached out and tapped the cosmic god essence several times. “The current mainstream theory believes that if Tian Jiu could divide herself to create a race, she could also recombine the race into herself, and the method would definitely involve devouring her own kin. The medium for that devouring would start with the wonders she created. That’s why, when you absorb other people’s wonders, people immediately consider you the legendary Tian Jiu reborn.”

“So that means absorbing wonders is just the beginning of Tian Jiu’s return, and her true purpose is to reclaim the race that proliferated to its peak back into herself? If it’s really that extreme, just how powerful would shebe?” Just imagining it made Moran feel terrified.

If the legend was true, what kind of monster was she? Splitting, proliferating, reunifying? Didn’t that mean that all wonderians, in the end, were fated to become part of Tian Jiu?

“How do the wonderians view the legend?” Moran asked, intrigued.

“There’s mainly two schools of thought. The first is the honor faction. They believe it’s a grand destiny, and the feat of their progenitor breaking the shackles of the universe. Those people eagerly await the day of her return, believing themselves to be part of Tian Jiu. Their faction was dominant throughout history, especially when the race was still weak. But now, things have changed...” Tianming explained.

“The second faction has risen?”

“Yes! The second faction is the pessimist faction. After the race ascended and grew powerful, they became more and more satisfied with their current existence. After all, they’re all individuals with feelings and desires, who would want to become part of a monster one day? For a long time, the wonderians lived in depression and the stifling, painful reality made them dwell on a hopeless future, leading to many twisted personalities. But in the end, a legend is just that. Today, few take it seriously anymore. So, right now, we can say it’s a golden age for the wonderians,” Tianming said.

To oppose a race, one must understand its history and soul. The wonderians’ rise to the top surely had its reasons, so Tianming paid close attention.

Moran roughly understood why Male Mo had become so desperate and lost control when Tianming said she was Tian Jiu. The progenitor had returned to reunify her race! From then on, the number one divine race in the universe would cease to exist. They would be reduced from trillions of peak bloodlines to one ancient monster.

“So is she the reborn Tian Jiu?” Ying Huo clicked its tongue. “You said Ling’er and Zi Zhen were reincarnations, too! Little Li, you sure have a fetish for snatching up reincarnated grannies!”

“Screw you!” Tianming glared at it.

“I don’t think I am,” Moran shook her head. “I can absorb wonders because of a mutation. Plus, I have so many sisters inside me—I’m not just one person. If I really were Tian Jiu reincarnated, how could I be so weak? Ling’er and Zi Zhen’s insane talents make them seem more like true reincarnations.”

“That’s what I thought, too, which is why I didn’t bring up the whole Tian Jiu thing before,” Tianming chuckled. “It was only when you mentioned your intuition today that I remembered it. So, in the end, we’ll just have to wait and see.”

“Alright....” Moran’s head fell.

“Heh.” Tianming gently patted her head with his large palm and smiled. “Who you are doesn’t matter. You’re my little fish.”

“What if my personality becomes twisted one day? What if I stop being myself?” Moran asked.

“Then I’ll be even more excited!” Tianming replied. Remembering her wild dancing in the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb after being infected by the red dust made his heart race. She really was talented!

Moran was speechless. What a pervert.

“Go give it a try,” Tianming placed her in front of the cosmic god essence.

The essence was only ten meters wide, still within her reach.

“Mm!” Moran was a bit nervous too. One by one, her sisters emerged. Fifty portions of happiness appeared before Tianming’s eyes.

“Hello, little brother,” the sisters smiled, beaming. Although they were just incomplete souls, unable to think much, their feelings for Tianming were absolutely pure.

“Hello, big sisters!” Tianming sat down.

After greeting him, the sisters eagerly gathered around the cosmic god essence as Tianming watched them in a trance.

If Tian Jiu was the progenitor of the wonderians, then before her rebirth, she must’ve stood alongside Di Yi and Huang Qi. Does that mean the reincarnated beings were the supreme deities of the Upper Star Ruin?

The three existences were all similarly named, each having a number as part of their name: Di Yi (One), Huang Qi (Seven), and Tian Jiu (Nine)!
