Beastmaster of the Ages

It was a shame that Tianming couldn’t clearly see what was going on outside. Thankfully, Yin Chen was still able to control its bodies that were outside the cage. Tianming could also feel his soul undulating when he heard that girl’s cold voice. Unlike Shenxi Shang’s sharp, offensive soul power, her voice seemed gentle and firm, seemingly impenetrable. It was nothing to scoff at.

Perhaps my turn’s coming. Just as Tianming thought that, he heard a metallic, crunching sound again, but it didn’t come from him. So three out of six people will be eliminated. What happens after that? Lin Hongchen was already out, leaving only five behind. Shenxi Shang possessed two mini stars at that point.

Just now, Lin Hongchen was put up against the first-ranked Shenxi Shang. Maybe it’s the second-ranker’s turn. In other words, Yi Taoyao’s definitely here! The feminine voice from before wasn’t Yi Taoyao’s, however. Tianming reasoned that, since it wasn’t his turn yet, it would definitely be Yi Taoyao’s. If Lin Hongchen was the sixth most powerful among them, then the next round should pitch the second most powerful against the fifth, and the one after should pit the third most powerful against the fourth.

After the crunching sound stopped, a cold, calm youth emerged. ”Yi Taoyao, you’re here, too. Why’d you keep so quiet?” The youth wasn’t Shenxi Shang, nor was he the girl who had been speaking.

”Jiangbei Cheng of the ebons... ranked fifth?” Yi Taoyao said, her voice cold and haughty. She recognized the one she was facing off against.

If the girl who spoke just now was an ebon, there’s a total of three of them here, Tianming figured.

Jiangbei Cheng said, ”I used to be ranked fourth, but Lin Feng, that son of Lin Mu, got ranked above me for some reason.” As he said that, he glared in Tianming’s direction.

Tianming felt another set of eyes on him—Yi Taoyao’s. Though she’s not saying anything, I bet she’s utterly shocked. I would’ve been completely crushed by her during our last encounter. He didn’t want to say too much, and was only able to see what was happening through the little hexagonal holes.

The two that were set up for the next duel couldn’t see their respective opponents within the spheres either, so there was little time for preparation or conversation and they immediately started fighting without wasting words. Bestial roars shook Tianming’s eardrums this time around.

Jiangbei Cheng was from the Jiangbei clan, not the Jiang clan. The Jiangbei Clan was one that was on the same level as the Guchi Clan. The fact that Jiangbei Cheng was ranked fifth meant that he wasn’t that far off from the seventh-ranked Guchi Xiaoyin, and also had divine soul eyes.

That means the other girl who spoke is ranked fourth beneath me. She probably isn’t too powerful. Though, based on the tone of voice she used while speaking with Shenxi Shang, she didn’t seem to be a simple character, either.

Man, Yi Taoyao is fierce! Tianming could see the white-haired beauty outside. As the only totem user among them, her totems hovered above her head. It was hard to count how many of them there were, but they were all rather powerful. The totem ki they radiated caused even Tianming to shudder inside his cage.

But the fight didn’t last that long. Jiangbei Cheng couldn’t take the assault at all, even being dragged out when he tried to hide within his warbeast.

What weapon is that? Nunchucks? Yi Taoyao was wielding two sticks, one black, one white, connected by a chain. She seemed able to dominate the entire battlefield with those alone. Dang, seeing a cold beauty like her wielding such a brutal weapon is just exciting.

If the nunchucks struck someone’s head, it would no doubt explode. While Tianming couldn’t see the entire fight, his brain made up for the spots he couldn’t see, imagining a beauty with an immaculate figure dancing around, causing her dress and white hair to flutter in the same manner as her nunchucks, twirling behind, underneath, and ahead of her. Once Jiangbei Cheng’s head was struck, his Oldgod Ring exploded.

Wow, she took down the fifth ranker so quickly. Impressive. I still need to take her middle finger.... How should I go about it? Tianming was rather troubled by her impressive prowess. After getting to know that breaking an Oldgod Ring was enough to release the opponent, Yi Taoyao didn’t go for the killing blow either. Her own Oldgod Ring was still on, after all. Eventually, Tianming heard her assimilate her second mini star.

”Lin Feng, you’ll pay back what you owe me,” she hissed right as Tianming thought his turn was coming up. It looked like the following fights wouldn’t be easy. Thankfully my prime wonder is more or less recovered. Though it had been destroyed by Lin Jianxing, divine wonders could recover faster than totems.

Right after the threat, Tianming felt his own mini star free him, allowing him to step out onto the battlefield. My opponent should be ranked fourth. The Infinitum Stele judged her to be weaker than me while I didn’t have my divine wonder, so she shouldn’t be an issue. It shouldn’t take much time to deal with her.

He confidently surveyed his surroundings. As expected, he found himself inside a sealed, sphere-like space that was large enough for a few people to fight. There were three mini stars hanging above the battlefield, two large and one small. The larger ones should belong to Shenxi Shang and Yi Taoyao, while the small one was probably that of Tianming’s opponent. Right at that moment, the mini star began to shudder and crumble, causing a golden mist to seep out through the entire battlefield in an instant.

”She....” The moment he spotted her, he furrowed his brow.

......

”Lin Feng showed up!”

Cheers began rocking the silent Infinitum Swordsea once more. The members of the Lin Clan had waited long for this moment.

”He shouldn’t have much of a problem defeating Shenxii Yao!” [1]

They could only see Tianming from Shenxii Yao’s Oldgod Ring, as he wasn’t wearing his.

”That’s great! Aside from that, news from the Oldgod Domain says that Lin Hongchen has returned.”

”Hopefully Lin Feng can return as the third ranker as well.”

”As long as he defeats her, he’ll definitely be able to hold on to his rank.”

”Yeah. The two higher ranks are too far off. It’d just be a pipe dream.”

”Let the fight start quickly!”

When the cheering ascended to a crescendo, something shocking happened. Shenxii Yao’s Oldgod Ring broadcast suddenly vanished.

”Did she lose?”

”How could that be? Lin Feng hasn’t even seen her yet!”

”She must’ve removed her Oldgod Ring!”
