Beastmaster of the Ages

”Xian Xian managed to suppress it, but not completely eradicate it.” In terms of bloodline, Tianming believed the Radix World Tree was far above the voidheart worm. However, symbiotic cultivation had limited Xian Xian’s growth to match Tianming’s cultivation level and the manna he gave it. It couldn’t grow unabated, unlike the voidheart worm, causing their level of maturity to differ. If it weren’t for that, Xian Xian and Yin Chen would easily trump the worm.

As the Evernight Curse continually flowed out, the giant mass of worms formed and collapsed a few more times. Raging storms tore at Xian Xian’s tree, targeting the rose, but Tianming, his totems, Lan Huang, Ying Huo, and Meow Meow intercepted the attacks. The abilities and sea of swords combined swatted the giant’s fist away, but not without cost. The terrifying power of the gigantic mass of worms had sent them flying into the ground.

”How terrifying.” Tianming’s current capabilities could just barely measure up to the sun emperor. He was probably stronger than Sovereign Greenvoid. And even while he was supported by the power of his Omnisentient Threads, the voidheart worm still managed to suppress him.

Their fight reached a stalemate. Tianming and three beasts protected Xian Xian and managed to hold on, since they had the Greenspark Tower. After some time, Yin Chen finally sent good news. ”I found... main body!”

”Are you sure?”

”If you... don’t trust... me then... don’t ask!” it snapped.

”Feisty one, aren’t you?” Tianming didn’t hesitate and charged toward the place as Yin Chen instructed. ”Protect Xian Xian, you hear? If you don’t, I’ll strip off your skin!”

”Shut up! I don’t need you to say that!” Ying Huo said before it launched a Sixpath Infernal Lotus to disintegrate countless powder bugs. Both Ying Huo and Meow Meow’s abilities were rather effective against the child spawns of the voidheart worm, but there seemed to be an endless number of them filling the entire Sky Palace Formation. Even now, a lot of them were still flooding toward Xian Xian’s branches and Lan Huang’s flesh. They also formed storms that slammed down with impressive might, though Tianming was relieved that the three of them were around. If Yin Chen had really spotted the body of the voidheart worm, all of this would be a success. Tianming was already wrapped up in the powder bug storm anyway, so there was no turning back.

”Over here!” Yin Chen said, its bodies scattered far apart from each other by the storm, which increased its field of detection. ”That human... head over... there is... the one!”

”Human head?” Tianming seemed surprised. The only head he saw in the whole area was Granny Yuan Long’s husk. It didn’t even have eyes or a tongue, how could it be the voidheart worm’s main body? ”You aren’t joking, right?”

”The most... dangerous place... is the... safest place!” Yin Chen said as it mechanically chuckled, almost like it was constipated.

”In other words, the voidheart worm’s main body is weak despite having powerful child spawns, so it has to hide it in the most unlikely place we’ll search!” If Yin Chen hadn’t reminded him about it, he wouldn’t even have suspected that empty head. ”But when I fought Granny Yuan Long and cut off her head, shouldn’t that have ended it?”

”No because... it is... constantly transforming.” In other words, the voidheart worm had taken Granny Yuan Long’s head and made it its main body after the fight. ”Quick or... it will... transform and... hide again!”

”Got it!” Tianming opened a path through the storm with the Godsin and his sword ki. A vortex appeared amidst the powder bugs as Tianming carved his way to his target with Yin Chen guiding him. As he needed to be fast, he struck without even seeing the target himself, sending the Godsin piercing toward where Yin Chen directed. He saw nothing but a mass of cotton-like powder bugs before him, so piercing a single head seemed difficult.

The decapath era godswords split into millions of providence swords and burst through much of the mass that obscured his view, allowing him to make his way to where Yin Chen pointed. There, he spotted the empty head for an instant.

”Without Yin Chen, I’d never be able to find its main body amidst all the child spawn!” How could a massive voidheart worm have such a small main body?

As the powder bugs scattered, the voidheart worm realized that it had been found. ”Did these little silver bugs help you find me?” Surprisingly, it didn’t sound panicked and attempted to speak with Tianming.

”Die!” He didn’t waste any words and retracted the Godsin, then used his providence swords to seal off the entire area. Then, using the Godsin, he executed Saintdragon Annihilation on the head. All of his sword ki and divine hazards scattered the cloudy fog, vaporizing everything within.

”You made me mad! I’ll kill you! I’ll take your life!” it cried, the expression on the head contorting even more. Yet it didn’t seem intent on dodging the strike.

What could a single head do to avoid it? Tianming furrowed his brow. Then the empty head opened its mouth wide, seemingly tearing itself apart. The mouth eventually opened so wide that it was half the size of the head, squishing the eyes and nose flat. The dust particles around it began flooding inside the mouth. All of them were its child spawns! It was ingesting its own child spawn!

”Can it suck back what it gave birth to?!” Tianming seemed rather shocked. Not even a fierce tiger would consume their young. Then again, the child spawns of a voidheart worm weren’t really the same as the offspring of a tiger, as they couldn’t grow and mature into other voidheart worms.

The powder bugs seemed like they were being summoned back as they flooded toward the head. As they were swallowed, a strong storm brewed, rapidly forming a vortex around Tianming that absorbed the Saintdragon Annihilation, neutralizing it. Countless powder bugs were also pushing him toward the vortex!
