Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You

Vol 8. Chapter 54: Still as Stubborn as Ever, Our Brother Constantine

At those words, Leon visibly froze.

In his long-held image of old Constantine, that flame-breathing dragon wasn’t the sort who would even have dreams.

Dreams, after all, were reflections of the real world—echoes of a person’s mind, their inner cravings and desires.

But Leon couldn’t imagine Constantine, a dragon whose whole life revolved around combat and battle, having desires.

If he did dream, it would probably just be of brawling with someone again, right?

So how could he keep dreaming about the same person?

That wasn’t even the strangest part.

The strangest thing was that old Kang hadn’t just dreamed about someone—he had actually traveled all the way to the Silver Dragon Territory to consult Leon about it.

What possible field could Constantine be bad at that Leon, of all people, was supposed to excel in? Why come to him specifically?

Leon didn’t dwell on it. He simply asked:

“You’ve been dreaming about the same person? Do you know them?”

Constantine thought carefully before replying:

“I suppose... I do.”

Leon blinked blankly. “What’s that supposed to mean—‘suppose’? You either know them or you don’t. Don’t tell me you know them, but they don’t know you?”

Old Kang shook his head.

“No. That person knows me too, though we’ve only met once.”

“A woman?”

“...” Silence.

“Yes. A woman.”

Judging by that reaction, Leon knew instantly it had to be the opposite sex.

So... the great Flame Dragon King was finally feeling a spark of spring?

Well—maybe that was a bit hasty.

Dreaming of the same person didn’t necessarily mean you’d fallen for them.

After all, plenty of people back during the Dragon Corps days used to dream about a beautiful, elegant silver dragon—

And called her their “life-saving benefactor.”

In truth, they’d dreamed of the dragon and even had children because of it.

But back then, there was no way Leon himself had any interest in Rosvisser.

They hadn’t even met yet.

So Constantine dreaming of some woman didn’t directly prove he’d fallen for her either.

“She from your clan?” Leon asked again.

Constantine shook his head once more.

“No.”

“Then... from ours, the Silver Dragons?”

Leon’s guess wasn’t baseless. If the woman in Constantine’s dreams was from the Silver Dragon Clan, that would at least explain why he’d come here.

But the answer stayed the same:

“No. She’s not a dragon at all.”

That made Leon freeze even more.

Constantine rarely interacted with other races. The fact that he’d only met her once and still kept dreaming of her—

It was downright incomprehensible. Because you couldn’t use dreams to prove interest or affection toward someone.

And yet, at this moment, Leon started to waver.

“This person you’re talking about,” Leon asked, “would I know them?”

Constantine’s eyes flickered slightly. After a pause, he said:

“If I don’t answer that question, will it affect your final judgment?”

That was... surprisingly straightforward.

When Constantine had come, he’d already said he’d been dreaming about the same person and needed Leon’s interpretation.

Leon thought for a bit.

“Not much... but it’d be better if you told me.”

Constantine raised a brow.

“Why?”

“Because I’m nosy.”

“...I’m seriously asking for your opinion, Leon. Could you take this seriously?”

Leon scratched his hair and gave a sheepish laugh.

“Fine, fine, I’ll be serious.”

He leaned back, speaking with mock gravity.

“Based on what you just said—constantly dreaming about an opposite-sex stranger you’ve only met once, and she’s not even a dragon—that means...”

He drew the word out.

Constantine’s eyes widened slightly.

“It means?...”

“It means—”

“It means?—”

Old Kang half rose from his chair, impatient.

He’d probably spent days trying to figure this out himself and come up with nothing. Finally, Leon would tell him the answer!

“Hurry up, Leon. That’s why I came here!”

“It means she definitely owes you a lot of money.”

“Are you serious?”

Constantine sat back down, rubbing his forehead.

“I thought you were going to say something meaningful, and that’s what you give me?”

Leon laughed heartily and continued:

“Well, if it’s not about money, then it must be about feelings, right?”

“That’s what you really wanted to say.”

Of course, just saying it didn’t make it true—it was simply Leon’s opinion.

Right or wrong didn’t matter yet. The point was to give Constantine something to focus on, a direction to think toward. Once he followed that thread to the end, he’d figure it out himself—better than sitting there lost with no starting point.

“About feelings?... You mean, I want that woman... to be my mate?”

Leon: “?”

“Do you dragons always talk so stiffly? You can’t make it sound a little more romantic?”

“To make that woman my mate?”

Leon was speechless.

He began to suspect he’d given the wrong lead entirely.

Maybe it was better to let the fire dragon figure this one out on his own.

Still, judging from Constantine’s calm face, he didn’t seem particularly stirred by the topic of romance.

Which wasn’t surprising.

Constantine had lived for centuries, seen life and death, and endured the pain of losing a wife. His heart had long been numb to love between man and woman.

The only soft place left in him now belonged entirely to his daughter, Hefei.

As for this woman from his dreams, what she truly meant to him remained to be seen.

Still, if she’d managed to leave such a strong impression on him—enough for him to dream of her again and again—she must be someone extraordinary.

Leon decided not to dig deeper into whether Constantine had actually fallen for her. Pushing further would just invade the man’s privacy.

After a moment’s thought, Leon said:

“If you want a real answer, the best way isn’t to ask me or anyone else.”

Constantine narrowed his eyes. “Then what should I do?”

“Go spend more time with her.”

Leon said, “Whatever it is you feel for her, once you spend some time together, you’ll figure it out naturally.”

Hearing that, Constantine seemed to ponder. He lowered his gaze and murmured:

“I see...”

There was hesitation in his expression—something Leon immediately caught.

“What’s wrong? Inconvenient? Oh, right—she’s from another race. That can’t be easy.”

“Yeah.”

Constantine nodded. “And if I take the initiative to approach her, won’t that seem too deliberate?”

Leon blinked. “That depends on what matters more to you—what others think of you, or getting your answer.”

Constantine frowned slightly, then gave an unexpected answer.

“Neither matters.”

“...”

“I don’t care how others see me, and I don’t care what kind of feelings I have for that woman.”

Unexpected—but not entirely.

It fit the Flame Dragon King’s nature perfectly. The sort who’d never be tangled up in sentimental trivialities.

Whether that was honesty or stubborn pride, Leon couldn’t tell.

Constantine slowly rose to his feet.

“It’s just... I haven’t dreamed of anyone this frequently in centuries. She’s special somehow, so... I’m willing to spend some time and effort figuring out what this means. In any case, Leon, your advice was good. I’ll try to see her more often.”

Leon let out a quiet sigh of relief. At least the visit hadn’t been for nothing.

After a brief silence, Leon circled back to his earlier question.

“So, you still won’t tell me who this woman is?”

Constantine thought for a moment, then shook his head again and said seriously:

“If I told you, it’d become material for your jokes for years to come.”

“...You think you *aren’t already?”
