Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

”Creature Swap?!”

Damon’s face darkened.

”That’s right. I choose my ’Mystic Tomato’ to give you.” Kira smiled. ”And you have no choice but to give me your only monster.”

”Tch…!”

Damon, grim-faced, chose his only monster: ’Despair from the Dark.’

The demon crossed over to Kira’s field; the little Tomato hopped over to Damon’s.

”Battle Phase,” Kira said. ”’Ryu Kokki,’ attack ’Mystic Tomato.’”

Ryu Kokki surged forward, its skeletal fist crushing the Tomato. The little Tomato exploded in a burst. Damon shielded himself, his sturdy frame taking the hit.

[Damon, LP 4000→LP 3000]

”At this moment, ’Mystic Tomato’s’ effect activates. When destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, I Special Summon a DARK monster with 1500 or less ATK from my deck.”

Syrus, the underachiever, was surprised: ”Huh? But Tomato was destroyed on the other side—shouldn’t the opponent search their deck?”

Chumley explained, ”At resolution, Mystic Tomato is in its original owner’s graveyard, so Kira gets the search.”

”Oh, I see.” Syrus glanced at Chumley. ”Even you knew that…”

He looked around at the others and suddenly realized—he was the only noob here.

”According to Mystic Tomato’s effect, I Special Summon ’Don Zaloog’ from my deck.”

[Don Zaloog, ATK 1400]

Damon scowled. ”You used Creature Swap to make me take the damage, but you still get to search your deck?”

”And now, ’Despair from the Dark’ attacks directly,” Kira said.

Chumley: ”Nice, if both attacks land, Kira will win!”

Alexis was less optimistic. ”But will it be that easy?”

Sure enough, Damon declared: ”Trap Card—’Draining Shield!’ Your attack is negated, and I gain LP equal to the attacking monster’s ATK!”

A glowing barrier appeared. The demon’s heavy punch was absorbed.

[Damon, LP 3000→LP 5800]

As expected, he used his trap to block the highest-ATK monster.

”Then Don Zaloog attacks directly.”

Don Zaloog drew his gun, and fired twice—one shot pierced Damin’s chest, the other shattered a card in his hand.

”Ugh!”

[Damon, LP 5800→LP 4400]

”Don Zaloog’s effect: when it inflicts battle damage, the opponent randomly discards a card.”

Damon glanced at the card his hand now displayed with a bullet hole through it, then chuckled.

”Heh, too bad. The card your monster hit is the one I just drew.”

He revealed it.

”Spell Card—’Card of Compensation.’ When sent from the hand to the Graveyard, I draw two cards!”

”Again, the effect works against him…” Syrus frowned. ”This guy’s draw is something.”

Jaden rubbed his hands. ”This is getting interesting—I want to duel him too.”

Kira: ”I set two cards and end my turn.”

”At this moment, I activate my remaining set card!”

Damon’s Trap flipped.

”Continuous Trap—’Miracle Draw!’ At the start of my Draw Phase, I declare a card name. If I draw that card, I inflict 1000 damage to my opponent. If not, I take 1000 damage!” (anime version)

Everyone was stunned.

”What a crazy Trap!” Alexis frowned.

”And you have to call a card from your entire deck? Isn’t the chance of hurting yourself way higher?” Syrus said, baffled.

”So cool, really interesting,” Jaden’s eyes sparkled.

”My turn, I draw!”

Damon closed his eyes, finger resting on the top of his deck as if immersing his whole being in the moment of the draw.

”The truth of card drawing is like flowing water, unchanged for millennia. I can feel it—I can feel the next card is—

—’Drawber!’” (anime card)

Damon swiftly drew and revealed it—it was the Normal Spell ’Drawber.’

”No way!? He drew it!?” Syrus was stunned.

Alexis was speechless, just looking this wild man up and down.

Could he have gained the power to see the future of his duels in his mountain training?

”So, you take 1000 damage,” Damon said.

”Amazing that you pulled it off,” Kira said. ”But I activate the Trap ’Energy-Absorbing Monolith.’ Any effect damage I take is converted to LP gain.”

A massive absorption panel appeared in front of him, soaking up the energy and turning it into golden light, which poured into Kira.

[Kira, LP 1400→LP 2400]

”As expected of Kira,” Jaden cheered. ”Not so easy to beat!”

Damon nodded in satisfaction. ”If my opponent weren’t this good, I couldn’t test my training.”

”Now, I activate the card I just drew—Spell Card ’Drawber!’ My opponent draws a card. If I can guess the type (Monster, Spell, or Trap), all cards in their hand and field are shuffled back into their deck!”

Everyone was shocked again. ”What kind of effect is that!?”

Alexis looked at Damon in disbelief. ”He can not only predict his draws, but his opponent’s too?”

That’s basically a superpower…

Kira drew a card as instructed.

Damon closed his eyes for half a second, then snapped them open, pointing dramatically like a certain famous child detective: ”You drew a Spell Card!”

Kira chuckled, revealing his card.

Spell Card—Pot of Greed.

”Correct.”

But Damon seemed to be holding back a little—when he used ’Drawber’ in the anime, he not only guessed Jaden had drawn a Spell, he even called the exact card ”De-Fusion”.

He could even predict the specific card—definitely supernatural.

Of course, it wasn’t always stable. In the anime, his next turn he guessed wrong—seems he was eventually overwhelmed by Jaden’s aura, and his draws fell apart.

”So, according to ’Drawber’s’ effect—”

Damon swept his arm.

”All cards in your hand and on your field—shuffle them back into your deck!”
