Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”The specific contract is enclosed with this letter. Our Chief of the Spiritual Mystery School, Ragnar Yasmani Blackmore, has already signed it.”

”Also signing were two Vice Chairmen and over a dozen high-ranking Legends...”

’Magic knowledge from the destiny divination system...’

’An equal contract...’

Wei’en put down the letter and glanced at the dozen or so books on his workbench. He then picked up the nearby parchment, examining it for a moment. After a few seconds of thought, he didn’t open it right away. Instead, only after making ample preparations did he have the little Messenger untie the cord binding the parchment.

The letter was sincerely worded, but since this was a contract involving the supernatural, it was best to be cautious.

Once the little worm opened the parchment and confirmed there was nothing unusual, Wei’en read the contents of the contract, which was written in Gonzalez.

”Under the witness of Yog Fred, the God of Contract, the Spiritual Mystery School shall enter into a contract of equals with you to complete our transaction. The specific articles are as follows:”

”One: The Spiritual Mystery School guarantees that we shall never act as your enemy, on the condition that you do not first act to harm our School.”

”Two: Each year, the Spiritual Mystery School will fulfill two of your requests. (This includes, but is not limited to, knowledge exchanges, gold pounds, and providing assistance. The specifics are to be determined by mutual communication between both parties.)”

”Three...”

After reading the contents of the equal contract and the long list of signatures below it, Wei’en wore a rare, almost comical expression.

’Damn, what kind of one-sided terms are these...’

Not a single article required him to do anything for the Spiritual Mystery School. Everything was a perk they were providing him, added on top of the original terms of their deal.

’Compared to benefits like fulfilling requests, providing intelligence, hiring guards, and supporting research, could not actively harming the Spiritual Mystery School even be considered a restriction?’

’If so, he hoped all the other Wizard Schools would use this contract as a template and send a few more his way...’

’What’s going on? Why do I get the feeling the Spiritual Mystery School is a bunch of masochists?’

Wei’en muttered to himself, completely baffled.

After all, even he had felt that the conditions he’d demanded in his reply were excessive.

He never expected that not only would the Spiritual Mystery School agree immediately without haggling, but even more frighteningly, they had added more than a dozen extra articles so good they were jaw-dropping.

’Could some unforeseen event have happened?’

Wei’en thought for a moment, his eyes on the contract’s articles. In the end, he couldn’t resist an ’equal’ contract that was so completely in his favor. He wrote his name on it: Faceless.

[Under the witness of Yog Fred, God of Contract, you have signed a contract of equals with Ragnar Yasmani Blackmore and others from the Spiritual Mystery School. Evaluation: I feel like I’m looking at a Child of Destiny. Have the Wizards of the Spiritual Mystery School been corrupted into morons? Special Reward: Survival Points +3, Spirit Level +1, Resilience Level +1.]

[Yog Fred’s attention toward you +1??? Current Rank: 345. Evaluation: Even that garbage God of Contract was stunned by this absurdly one-sided contract! Special Reward: Origin +5.]

Reading the evaluation on the panel, Wei’en pursed his lips. ’Morons? They’re clearly my dear countrymen, my generous benefactors.’

’Compared to the Spiritual Mystery School, the things the Ghost Soul School gave me were the real trash!’
