Path To Godhood Begins With Marrying Wife And Gaining SSS Rank Skill

Chapter 323: 323:The Group Of Rabid Dogs

The next day arrived gently. It was the day of the royal party.

The banquet was scheduled for five in the evening, yet Ethan had not made his way to the palace hall. He was still dressing after lunch. After all, no royal gathering ever truly began at the exact hour written on the invitation.

Ethan stood before the mirror, dressed in a refined combination of black and crimson. The clothes were simple yet elegant, fitted perfectly to his frame. The crimson lines ran along the edges like restrained flames, giving him a sharp and noble presence.

He turned slightly and extended his hand toward the beautiful soul beside him. He lifted her hand and kissed the back of her palm softly.

“Are you ready?” he asked.

“Yes,” Claira replied.

Unlike before, her voice was steady. There was no hesitation, no fear trembling beneath her words.

Soon, the two entered the carriage.

Even within the palace grounds, they needed to take a carriage to reach the main banquet hall. The royal complex was simply too vast to cross on foot.

When the carriage came to a stop, Ethan rose from his seat with calm grace and stepped down, already surrounded by his guards. He then turned back and extended his hand toward Claira.

She placed her hand in his without pause.

The view before them was overwhelming.

The royal palace stretched endlessly into the distance. Tall, regal, magnetic, and powerful. The structure itself seemed to command attention just by standing there. His eyes traced the magnificent buildings that spiraled outward from the central palace, each crafted from rare stone and precious materials. Everything here spoke of wealth, authority, and history.

When they finally arrived at the entrance to the banquet hall, two butlers stood guard. They prepared to ask for identification, but the moment their eyes fell on the insignia on Ethan’s chest, recognition flashed across their faces.

They had been informed in advance.

The guest list had been carefully prepared, and they knew that Baron Ethan would attend.

In fact,he was the only Baron rank noble to attend the banquet.

They did not dare question him.

With swift, practiced movements, both butlers bowed deeply. Then they turned toward the hall, their voices echoing clearly through the chamber.

“Baron Ethan Blank of the Western Region has graced us with his presence.”

Inside the banquet hall, most of the nobles had already arrived.

As tradition dictated, higher-ranked nobles came first, followed by those of lower rank. Nearly everyone was present except the royal family themselves.

The dukes had gathered together, exchanging veiled words and subtle mockery.

“Ho, isn’t that Phillips?” one of them said.

“You must be feeling quite proud after gaining such a son-in-law.”

Phillips smiled faintly. If not for Ethan’s habit of drawing trouble wherever he went, Phillips found nothing truly lacking in him.

Duke Longburn glanced at him and spoke, “But was it wise to marry your daughter to such a person?”

“What do you mean?” Phillips asked, frowning.

“I mean he looks like a playboy,” Longburn said casually. “With such a face, I doubt he treats women well.”

He turned slightly. “Isn’t that right, Keeves?”

“Of course,” Duke Keeves replied. “Beautiful exteriors often hide rotten interiors.”

“You were too hasty,” Longburn added. “The second prince would have been a better choice.”

Phillips’ lips trembled.

The second prince.

He snorted inwardly.

’I would rather throw my daughter into the sea to marry a fish than marry her to that bastard.’

Before he could respond, a clear announcement rang through the hall.

“Baron Ethan Blank of the Western Region has graced us with his presence.”

A frown appeared on many faces.

The wording was strange. Announcements usually stated that someone had arrived, not that they had graced the hall with their presence.

Some even glanced at the announcer, wondering if he had made a mistake.

The announcer himself was sweating while cursing inwardly.

He had only read what was written so everyone was eyeing him deadly.

Then the doors opened.

What greeted them stole the breath from the room.

A tall, handsome man stepped inside, dressed in a black suit traced with crimson stripes. His hair was styled neatly, matching his dignified bearing. His blue eyes shone like polished jewels, deep and endless.

Beside him walked a woman in a crimson floral dress.

The fabric flowed elegantly around her, hugging her figure without excess. A peacock-shaped mask covered half of her face, drawing attention instead of hiding it. The exposed half revealed amethyst eyes that seemed to pull at the soul of anyone who looked too long.

Holding Ethan’s arm, she walked with confidence, her steps firm and unyielding.

Together, the pair marched into the hall.

The room fell silent.

Everyone knew Ethan.

But no one knew the woman beside him.

And in that moment, curiosity burned brighter than envy.

At this point, there was no one who did not know about Ethan.

Especially the women.

The moment Ethan stepped inside, noble ladies began to flock toward him. The change was so sudden that even Ethan was taken aback. Claira, standing beside him, also found it absurd.

They didn’t even notice Claire’s presence and almost threw themselves at Ethan who just stepped back.

Ethan had not expected the noble ladies to be so bold and to disregard etiquette so openly. Still, they knew their limits and did not cross the line completely.

“Sir Ethan, the dresses designed by your workshops are truly fine craftsmanship,” one lady said with a bright smile.

“Yes, I waited for the new winter collection, but I could not even get a slot,” another added with a hint of frustration.

“The fabric quality is unmatched, and the designs are elegant without being excessive,” a third spoke eagerly.

“I heard the waiting list has grown unbearably long,” someone else said. “If possible, I would like to place a special order.”

More voices followed, each praising his work, his vision, and the businesses under his name. Apparently, the waiting list had grown so long that many were dissatisfied, and they wanted to use this opportunity to secure his attention directly.

Just as Ethan was about to sigh in relief,he heard.

“I have a specific design in mind, but it requires a very… personal touch. I wouldn’t trust anyone but you to handle the fabric against my skin.”

“My estate has the finest wine in the empire. Why don’t you come by for a consultation? I promise to make the trip worth your while business aside.”

Ethan coughed a bit and said”Ladies let’s skip business for later.”

“Sir Ethan would like to accompany me to dance.”

“What…No Sir Ethan please dance with me.”

“Shut up…It’s me who will dance with him.”

“Heheh…Ladies have you even seen yourself..Sir Ethan is a man of standard.”

“What did you mean by that..”

“Nothing…I mean stop embarrassing yourself and get out..It’s me whom he’s gonna dance with.”

“Back off, you hag. You already have three husbands; let the rest of us have a turn!”

And with that, the war for dance begins with verbal abuse thrown at such eloquence that even he started to question his own choice of words.

Ethan opened his mouth to politely refuse when a sharp voice cut through the crowd.

“Hey!”

The cold tone froze everyone in place.

“Despite being taught by the finest tutors, do you not know basic manners?” the voice continued.

“Also…..My husband doesn’t have a habit of playing with cheap second hand trinkets used by others.”

“So stop being rabid dogs begging for bones.”

“…”

The words silence the entire silence following which a scream erupted in Ethan’s mind..

’What the fuckkkkkkkkk?’

’Thats too sickk…Ahhh…Claira I feel my love for you gushing out.’

……

Thanks for the GT..

Love you all guys….
