Path To Godhood Begins With Marrying Wife And Gaining SSS Rank Skill

Chapter 222: 222:The End Of Kingdom War

“Ethan… I am pregnant…”

TANG!

The pen in his hand slipped through his fingers and fell to the floor. His eyes widened as he looked at the lovely red-haired lady standing in front of him.

“For real…” he shouted, shocked. Then he jumped up, rushed forward and grabbed Rina by her waist. He lifted her up in the air with pure joy.

Before she could react, Ethan pulled her closer and kissed her deeply.

“Wa… Hmhmmpp!” Rina tried to speak but her words were swallowed by Ethan’s kiss. Her hands wrapped around his shoulders while he held her tightly in his arms. Her red hair brushed against his cheek as he kissed her again and again. Her lips trembled lightly because of his excitement, and her face flushed pink as she clung to him.

“Why are you reacting like this?”

Ethan finally pulled back and looked at her with shining eyes.

“Why won’t I?” he whispered against her forehead. “The child of you and me might be able to break through the chains and reach a new level.”

He slowly lowered her to the ground but kept one hand around her waist.

“Since when?” he asked.

Rina bit her lip softly. “I think it has been a month.”

“Month!” Ethan frowned hearing this. “You have been pregnant for a month yet you are telling me now?”

Rina felt shy and snuggled closer into Ethan’s chest. Her fingers curled into his shirt.

“It’s just… I didn’t know… You know I am too inexperienced.”

The soft tone in her voice sent a shiver through Ethan. His body heated up and he felt a spark of desire, yet he forced himself to stay calm.

’Amitabha… control Ethan, control.’

’Little brother, you need to hold back.’

“It’s okay,” he muttered and exhaled deeply. “Now you will have tons of experience.”

“You wanted a girl, right?” Ethan asked while brushing her hair back gently.

“Girl…” Rina paused as Miranda came to her mind. She really liked the girl, especially those chubby cheeks. But as she thought about the others too, she shook her head.

“It doesn’t matter. I just hope the child is quite cute and leads a good life.”

“Of course he or she will. I promise you,” Ethan said. Then he bent down and kissed her forehead with a soft smile.

……

Months later..

Ethan had not even settled properly when another piece of news slammed into him.

The event everyone in Ruthiana had been waiting for finally came to light.

The war was over.

The declaration spread through the kingdom like a wave and brought sudden relief to the hearts of countless people. Yes, the long-lasting war was finally over, leaving behind gruesome scars.

The ones who suffered the most were the nobles and the commoners. They had paid the heaviest price. Families lost members, farmlands were destroyed and many houses turned into ashes.

The reason?

Because bandits used this chance to loot, dungeon breaks and beast tides went noticed or the local forces reacted late.

So in a way everyone bleeded for this.

Ruthiana and Frontier signed a peace treaty to divide the loot. This left a very bitter aftertaste.

After all, why was the war started? It was supposed to be about claiming treasures for themselves, one-sidedly. Yet it ended with both sides dividing everything.

For the patriots and the people whose hearts always belonged to their kingdom, it felt like betrayal.

If you wanted such an outcome, then why fight in the first place? Why allow hundreds of thousands to suffer for nothing?

In every sense, the war seemed like meaningless bullshit.

Couldn’t they just divide things peacefully from the beginning? Why go through such a farce?

Many cursed under their breath. But the next events shocked them even more.

As if their voices were heard by the Gods..no the kings, post meditative measures followed.

The taxes were lowered immediately. The taxes had been raised three times the original amount, but now it was reduced to half of the original.

The second shocking event was the descent of the Star Knight.

Star Knight.

The kingdom’s elite legion of knights began operations to eliminate all evil cults, bandits and take out beasts. They moved like a storm. All rebellious forces were crushed without mercy.

No one was spared.

Then came the rewards. All nobles who participated in the war would have their ranks upgraded according to their contributions. Those who did not achieve anything significant would still be rewarded with monetary compensation.

In short, it became a proper time of rejoicing.

Declarations were made, and even though the final stages still needed time, the way things progressed shocked everyone.

“This is really the way of using carrots and sticks…” Ethan muttered as he read through the details. He nodded unconsciously because he had to acknowledge it.

The King handled everything brilliantly.

’Don’t people say he is quite narrow-minded, conceited and a bit foolish… but this…’

’One does not need great intelligence for such decisions, but a narrow-minded ruler would never allow such benefits.’

Throughout history, even when an empire had vast strength, it failed because emperors did not know when to show leniency and when to strike.

The brief period after a war needed true peace that benefited everyone, yet many rulers destroyed that chance because their ego refused to bend.

But this time the Royal side pushed through everything.

Because they did not let ego drag them down.

’If I am correct, the King might not be as easy going as he looks.’

“Bullshit…”

A loud angry scream interrupted his thoughts.

“?????”

’Did she hear my thoughts!’

“AHHHH!”

“Bullshit….That bastard did it again.”

Huh?” Ethan snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Sophia, who slammed her hand on the table hard enough to rattle the ink bottle beside it.

Her eyes were burning with irritation and anger.

’Now who pissed my little demoness!’ Ethan thought.
