Immortal of the Nine Realms

Saintess Yuanyang frowned. “Those in the God Decree Ranking working with the True Immortal Ancient Mirror? Establishing contact with the Fallen Immortals? I’ve never heard of any of the things you’re talking about.”

“Drop the act. A few years ago, an elder from the Enlightenment God Palace went to your God Dao Sect to investigate this matter, and was detained by you,” Fang Chen said calmly. “Do you think I would ask these questions without some level of certainty? If you truly want to live, you shouldn’t keep lying. It won’t do you any good.”

There was a long silence. Finally, Saintess Yuanyang said, “Since you already know, why bother asking? Our God Dao Sect’s cooperation with the True Immortal Ancient Mirror is to facilitate entry into and exit from the Greater Immortal Realm.

Fang Chen smiled. “And the purpose of entering and leaving the Major Immortal Realm is to join forces with the Fallen Immortals. What do they want from you, and what do you want from them?”

Saintess Yuanyang looked at him in surprise. “You’re asking about this instead of the demon race? What meaning does it have for you? It’s common for sects to choose allies, especially in times like these.”

“Your God Dao Sect isn’t stupid.” Fang Chen shook his head with a faint smile. “You might ally with the demon Race, or even with the Motian Division, but you would never truly ally with the Fallen Immortals. They’re cunning, selfish, ruthless, and greedy. They’re suited only for transactions, not for alliances. So what exactly is your God Dao Sect trying to obtain from them?”

Saintess Yuanyang insisted she knew nothing. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Decisions made by the higher-ups are beyond my reach. Don’t be fooled by my title as a Saintess; there are at least ten like me within the God Dao Sect. I’m not a true power figure, nor part of the core lineage.”

Fang Chen continued calmly, “Let me remind you—the God Dao Sect once set a trap, capturing several Fallen Immortals from the Greater Immortal Realm. Those Fallen Immortals, under the cover of the True Immortal Ancient Mirror, were smuggled out of the Major Immortal Realm. They should now be within your God Dao Sect, right?

“I’ve thought about this again and again. If it’s not for forming an alliance and borrowing the power of the Fallen Immortals, then there’s only one other explanation. You intend to use the unique nature of the Fallen Immortal Path to cultivate more eighth- and ninth-transformation transformation demon experts. Then, through the God Decree Ranking, you would control them. This way, even if their temperament becomes unstable due to the Fallen Immortal Path, they would still be easily restrained by the God Decree Ranking.”

Saintess Yuanyang ’s face gradually turned pale with fear.

Fang Chen continued, “With such a force at your disposal, the strength of your Demonic Beast Race would increase greatly. Then, by taking advantage of your alliance with the demon race, you could indirectly eliminate human forces. After that, you would join hands with the Motian Division to suppress the demon race. And in the end, the Nine Mortal Realms would belong entirely to your Demonic Beast Race.”

After a long silence, Saintess Yuanyang let out a cold laugh. “Core Disciple Wang, I truly don’t know what you’re talking about. The God Decree Ranking isn’t limitless. It requires an immense cost. If you don’t understand it, don’t make wild guesses. And you say the God Dao Sect will join hands with the Motian Division? Have you forgotten? The Demon Race and the Motian Division are allies.”

“Recently, did your God Dao Sect lose an eighth-transformation Ancient Immortal?” Fang Chen asked.

Saintess Yuanyang could no longer control her expression. Her gaze turned dark and cold as she stared at him. “What do you know?”

Fang Chen’s eyes narrowed. “The deceased Ancient Immortal, is she close to you?”

“What do you know?!”

Saintess Yuanyang suddenly lunged at him, trying to grab his throat.

Slap!

Fang Chen struck her with a backhand, sending her flying far away. She tumbled across the ground several times before sitting there blankly, lost in thought.

“That eighth-transformation Ancient Immortal, what is her relationship to you?” he asked again calmly.

Saintess Yuanyang glanced at him, then sneered. “Why should I tell you?”

“That Ancient Immortal was also a Venerable of the Motian Division. But unlike Venerable Fatian and the others, she was of the Demonic Beast Race, and remained loyal to your lord until her death.”

“So it was you.” Saintess Yuanyang ’s eyes filled with venomous hatred. “She died at your hands. Who exactly are you? And what are you trying to accomplish with all this?”

“Let me sort this out,” said Fang Chen. “Earlier, I noticed that you were even more shocked than Great Virtue Heavenly Venerable at the betrayal of Venerable Fatian and the others. Taking that into account, along with Venerable Jinglan’s attitude and the ancient rumors, the lord of the Motian Division was likely originally a Demonic Beast.

“It’s said that before the human race arrived in the Nine Mortal Realms, all three realms were ruled by the Demonic Beast Race. The Nine Mortal Realms belonged to the Demonic Beast Race. The Underworld belonged to them. And the Immortal Realm... was also theirs. So that lord may have already been a major figure in the Underworld during that era, before the humans arrived.”

Ignoring Saintess Yuanyang ’s twisting expression, he continued, “So, as a Demonic Beast, why would the Motian Division truly ally with the demon race? In your eyes, the demon race, like the human race, are outsiders, foreign paths. From beginning to end, the cooperation between the Motian Division and the Demon Race was orchestrated by the demon race behind your God Dao Sect.

“Or perhaps it was the lord’s intention. The purpose is simple. While using the demon race to eliminate human cultivators, you can also gather intelligence on the demon race, their critical information. This way, once the human race is mostly wiped out, you can easily turn around and deal with the demon race, reaping the benefits as the final victor. That also explains why the Ghost Immortals of the Motian Division only protect the core members of the demon race and rarely take the initiative to act. Even their protection is rather passive.”

Fang Chen smiled faintly. “The excuse they used was that they didn’t want to directly participate in the war. But in truth, they don’t care who wins between the demon race and the human race. They only want both sides to exhaust each other.”

Saintess Yuanyang sneered. “You’ve said so much speculation, do you have any proof? Do you think the demon race would believe your words? Or are you humans planning to ally with the demon race against us? As far as I know, the human race was already nearly defeated in that great war.”

She burst out laughing. “You’re all nothing but demons wearing human skin that cannot awaken their past memories

“The chaos of the three realms back then was also our doing. From the very beginning, your human race should never have come to the Nine Mortal Realms, nor occupied the others. This is your retribution.”

Fang Chen calmly countered, “I’ve heard that even if the human race hadn’t come, your Demonic Beast Race was already being invaded by external forces and was on the verge of extinction. That’s just a convenient excuse you use to justify yourselves.”

Saintess Yuanyang sneered. “Whether it’s an excuse or not can’t be verified now. What I do know is this, this war is a three-way stalemate, and the outcome is still undecided.”

Fang Chen’s smile widened. “From what you’ve said today, I’ve confirmed quite a few of my suspicions. Now, will you go on your own, or shall I send you on your way?”

“You’re going to kill me? You don’t want to learn about the demon race from me?”

Only then did Saintess Yuanyang realize her situation. She hurriedly suppressed her anger and hatred, trying to grasp a chance at survival.
