Immortal of the Nine Realms

Chapter 1587: Emperor Ye

We won’t die?

The village chief didn’t quite believe Fang Chen’s words. As that distinct, encroaching color completely assimilated the space, he instinctively shut his eyes and waited for his death.

A long silence followed.

”Chief, we... we seem to be fine!” shouted a demon.

The tender, high-pitched voice struck a chord of grief in the chief’s heart. He recognised that tone. Even the once brave and domineering Tiger Demon had been reduced to this pint-sized state!

”Senior is truly a man of his word! Henceforth, we shall reside within Senior’s Sword Domain. We hope for your kind tolerance,” said the village chief with a look of immense gratitude. ”If you ever need us, simply speak the word. We will help without hesitation!”

Fang Chen nodded. ”Tell me more about the Demon Immortal Army of the Nine Realm Immortal Alliance. I want to know all the details.”

The village chief’s expression shifted. He asked tentatively, ”Currently... has the Nine Realm Immortal Alliance won?”

”You lost. You lost quite miserably,” replied Fang Chen directly.

If the village chief wasn’t faking his ignorance, he was likely the third-transformation Sword Immortal who fought during the war against the Immortal Alliance. As a result of being gravely wounded, he had to dig his own immortal grave and bury himself.

In reality, these third-transformation Demon Immortals weren’t normal living beings anymore. They were somewhat similar to wandering souls in the Underworld. They didn’t inhabit the Underworld, yet they lived within that senior’s Sword Domain, persisting through the ages alongside the Sword Bone.

They didn’t require Yin Lifespan to exist, but they were forever bound to the Sword Domain and unable to receive official decrees. The only way out was the method the village chief mentioned earlier. To devour the host and seize their physical body to be reborn.

Upon hearing that the Nine Realm Immortal Alliance had been defeated, the third-transformation Demon Immortals present sighed in collective dejection.

The village chief let out a long breath and said, ”Since you wish to know about the Demon Immortal Army, I shall naturally tell you everything I know. This must begin with the legend of Emperor Ye.”

”Emperor Ye?”

Fang Chen was particularly sensitive to the word ”Ye” as he thought of the Yin Lunar God Beast.[1]

”Yes,” continued the village chief with a look of profound adoration filling his eyes. ”Emperor Ye was the only ninth-transformation Demon Immortal of our race, and the strongest existence within the Nine Realms! No one knew what Emperor Ye’s true form was. We only knew that in the history of the demon race, Emperor Ye’s power could even rival that of our progenitors.”

”The creation of the Nine Realm Immortal Alliance was pushed forward by Emperor Ye in collaboration with several ninth-transformation Human Immortals. Back then, the Nine Realms were already in utter chaos. The emergence of the Immortal Alliance was meant to end it all and restore the order that the Nine Realms were meant to have.”

Fang Chen sighed. Another brainwashed fellow,

Now that the demons were within his Sword Domain, they could not lie. If there were even half a word of falsehood, Fang Chen would perceive it instantly. This proved that even if the demon race was leading the conspiracy, only a handful of existences at the very top knew the truth.

The lower-level demons likely had no idea their leaders intended to use them to ”reclaim” the Nine Realms. They simply believed the Immortal Alliance was meant to break the old status quo, establish a new order, and secure some benefits for their race in the process.

”The Demon Immortal Army was personally founded by Emperor Ye. She traveled across the Nine Realms, gathering demon race experts from all regions to form this army. Though there were many allied armies within the Immortal Alliance, only our Demon Immortal Army was worthy of being called number one! Wherever Emperor Ye pointed was our battlefield. Wherever the Demon Immortal Army went, we were invincible!”

The village chief let out a heavy sigh. ”But unfortunately...a ninth-transformation Sword Immortal of unknown origin emerged from the Nine Realms. His strength was not only equal to Emperor Ye’s, but he also had a vast following. One by one, those Sword Immortals slaughtered our kind without mercy. It was truly the height of cruelty!”

”Cruelty?”

”Yes!” The village chief nodded. ”It was brutal. Many in the Demon Immortal Army were terrified into submission or became deserters. Once the first fell, the rest followed. You could say the downfall of the Demon Immortal Army was personally orchestrated by that ninth-transformation Sword Immortal. I hate him!”

”We hate him!” growled thousands of demons.

”Hmph,” scoffed Little Sword, unimpressed by their grievances.

She looked at the group of demons with a trace of smugness. In her mind, Sword Immortals were naturally the most elite beings in existence.

”And then?” prompted Fang Chen.

”Afterwards?” The village chief recalled slowly. ”Afterwards, it was too painful to look back on. The team I led became deserters and were eventually suppressed. All the kin you see here were members of the Demon Immortal Army who fled the battlefield.”

”Was this Emperor Ye a man or a woman?” asked Fang Chen.

”I once had the honor of catching a distant glimpse of Emperor Ye during a military review,” replied the village chief, his eyes filled with a mix of longing, awe, and adoration. ”Her demeanor was elegant and graceful—the absolute pinnacle of the world!”

The Yin Lunar God Beast is a female priestess, and Emperor Ye is also a female cultivator. It seems I can only get a clear answer to this once I see Master Yun He or the Old Man, Fang Chen thought. They should recall bits of this news. Also, Old Wang should likely know a thing or two about the demon race as well.

I wonder if the demon race had a hand in the current demonic calamity. If the ninth-transformation Demon Immortals have confirmed that the demons won’t receive further reinforcements, they might rejoin forces with them to plunder the Nine Realms once more.

Fang Chen realized that the predicament facing the human race was the demon race. They lurked in the shadows, though their strength might not be significantly greater than that of the humans. It all depended on how many ninth-transformation True Demons existed.

”Tell me more about the Nine Realm Immortal Alliance. Which factions were involved back then? For instance, the Five Element Grand Sect or the Rulai Monastery,” ordered Fang Chen.

The village chief confessed honestly. Before long, Fang Chen had a new list of names of all the factions that had participated in the Immortal Alliance. He hadn’t heard of a single one. Perhaps they had vanished entirely in the long river of time.

”The rest of you, speak up as well. Tell me everything you know,” commanded Fang Chen as he looked at the other demons.

After a long time, once he was certain these demons had divulged everything they knew, Fang Chen and Little Sword departed from this realm.

He opened his eyes, and his immortal essence surged frantically. It was already several times more powerful than a second-transformation immortal’s immortal essence.

”I thought this would take some time, but I didn’t expect the Mortal World to completely crush the Demon Suppression Sword Domain left by that senior.”

Fang Chen estimated that only about six months to a year had passed in the outside realm. Looking at Little Sword, her aura was also significantly stronger. Since Fang Chen had advanced to the third transformation, she had also advanced alongside him. Without a doubt, her ranking on the Spiritual Treasure Ranking had moved up.

With a thought, Fang Chen expanded his domain. Like flowing water, the Mortal World Sword Domain spread outwards. In an instant, a village appeared in the distance. It was the very same demon village from the Demon Suppression Sword Domain.

Now, it had officially relocated to the Mortal World.
