Immortal of the Nine Realms

The Ping Yao Pavilion Master was startled and immediately said, ”I did not mean that at all, not at all. If you do not believe me, I still have a letter of agreement. Please wait a moment!”

He quickly searched his storage ring for the letter.

Fang Xiaotian and his sister exchanged confused glances. This was the first time they heard of this.

While searching, the master of the Ping Yao Pavilion continued, ”To be honest, I had a deep friendship with their parents. Before my friend, Canghai, left, he specifically asked me to look after Xiaotian and Xiaohua. Unfortunately, I have been busy with my cultivation and thus neglected them. I feel deeply ashamed...”

”So, Dad and the pavilion master were that close?” muttered Fang Xiaotian to himself.

At that moment, the pavilion master’s words were sincere, and his voice carried a deep sense of guilt, which made Fang Xiaotian believe him a bit more.

Fang Chen frowned slightly. ”Canghai?”

This was quite the coincidence. His own father was also named Fang Cangai.

Soon, the master of the Ping Yao Pavilion found the letter and quickly handed it to Fang Chen.

”Please take a look, senior.”

It was only a letter of casual conversation. Only at the end did it note that five hundred low-grade spirit stones had been left for Fang Xiaotian and Fang Xiaohua to use while cultivating in the Qi Refining Realm.

The name ”Fang Canghai” was signed at the bottom of the letter.

Fang Xiaotian stepped forward to take a look and quickly nodded. ”This is Dad’s handwriting.”

”This is really your father’s handwriting?” asked Fang Chen, raising a brow.

He gave the letter a closer look, then sized up Fang Xiaotian and Fang Xiaohua. Only then did he finally find a sense of familiarity in their faces.

He felt a bit speechless. It seemed that after his parent started following the Yang Spirit Path, they really had left quite a few younger siblings for him in the outside world.

Fang Xiaotian and Fang Xiaohua weren’t old, so his parents had passed by here recently.

If he found two siblings here in the Upper Three Realms, then he suspected he might have siblings all across the Nine Mortal Realms.

”Yes, I am absolutely certain this is my Dad’s handwriting.”

Fang Xiaotian nodded confidently, then looked at Fang Chen with confusion. ”Senior, why have Xiaohua and I never met you before...?”

Fang Chen replied, ”I wasn’t here before, so it’s perfectly normal that you haven’t seen me. But we are indeed family.”

Truly family!

The Ping Yao Pavilion Master was secretly startled. He assumed Fang Chen was Fang Canghai’s ancestor but had left the Great Victory Dynasty many years ago. He had to have achieved immortality and returned only now to bask in the glory.

He couldn’t help but feel fortunate that he had dealt with the situation decisively. If not, the Ping Yao Pavilion would be in grave danger!

”See how many spirit stones Fang Xiaotian owes you, then give me the rest back. After that, their debts to the Ping Yao Pavilion will be settled,” said Fang Chen with a faint smile.

The Ping Yao Pavilion Master smiled wryly. He had intended to keep Fang Xiaotian here for a while, but since this was the immortal’s decision, he could only do as told.

Fang Xiaohua murmured, ”If Big Brother isn’t here at the Ping Yao Pavilion, how will we cultivate in the future?”

”That’s a good point,” Fang Chen said, his expression shifting.

He turned to the master of the Ping Yao Pavilion and said, ”Forget about that for now.”

With that, he turned around and left with Fang Xiaotian and Fang Xiaohua.

The Ping Yao Pavilion Master felt a surge of hope. Perhaps, this time, he could turn this misfortune into a blessing!

Thinking of that, he kicked the young master, scolded him harshly on the street, and then dragged him back to the Ping Yao Pavilion.

Nearby, a group of young men and women watched this scene and gained some understanding of the situation.

Fang Xiaotian and his sister’s home was just around the corner, a small courtyard that was neither too big nor too small.

”Senior, how should we address you?” asked Fang Xiaotian as he served tea and water.

He felt a little uneasy as he stood before Fang Chen, holding Xiaohua’s hand.

Xiaohua’s bright, black eyes sparkled. Now that she no longer saw Fang Chen as a potential fraud, she was also very curious about what kind of relationship he had with them.

Fang Chen waved his hand, and his spiritual energy swirled, forming the figures of Fang Xiaotian and Xiaohua’s parents.

”Do your parents look like this?” he asked.

Upon seeing that, Fang Xiaotian and Xiaohua immediately burst into tears.

Xiaohua wailed, ”Father, you died so tragically!”

”Wait.”

Fang Chen dismissed the images and then looked at Xiaohua with a strange expression. ”Xiaohua, why do you think your father is dead?”

Xiaohua sobbed, ”Father and Mother left without saying a word, and they haven’t come back for years. Everyone says they were killed by the demon race!”

The demon race?

It seemed that the cultivators from Drunken Fate Star weren’t on good terms with the demon race, which was probably why the Ping Yao Pavilion was named as such.

Fang Chen’s thoughts shifted, and he couldn’t help but laugh and scold, ”Who told you your parents are dead? They’re just temporarily not on Drunken Fate Star, but they’ll definitely come back to find you. Well, as long as their memories are still intact...”

Xiaohua immediately fell silent, staring at Fang Chen in a daze.

Fang Xiaotian was overjoyed. ”Senior, are my parents still alive?”

Fang Chen nodded. ”Of course they’re alive, with utmost certainty.”

Fang Xiaotian asked eagerly, ”Senior, you must have seen them. Do you know where they are now? Are they in any danger...?”

Fang Chen revealed, ”I haven’t seen them in many years either.”

Fang Xiaotian was taken aback. ”Many years?”

This person in front of him was clearly an immortal, someone who had cultivated for many years.

Fang Chen said with a smile, ”Let me introduce myself. I am Fang Chen, your older brother.”

”Older... brother!?”

Fang Xiaotian stood frozen, as if struck by lightning.

However, Fang Xiaohua immediately believed it and exclaimed with joy, ”I knew it! That’s why you resemble us!”

”Now that you mention it, you do look a bit similar,” said Fang Xiaotian as he scrutinized Fang Chen’s face more carefully.

The more he looked, the more unsettled he felt. His mind grew chaotic.

Fang Chen continued, ”If I hadn’t happened to pass by today, I wouldn’t have known about your existence either. There are many things that, with your current cultivation and age, you wouldn’t be able to understand. But at least know this, your parents won’t die easily. Their existence is very special, so special that even the immortals you know are not as extraordinary as they are.”

Fang Chen’s expression became more serious. ”The only thing I can be sure of is that I’m a few hundred years older than you, so I’m your older brother.”

***

An hour passed.

Fang Xiaotian and Fang Xiaohua, after listening to Fang Chen’s explanation, began to understand their situation, though still somewhat confused.

Fang Xiaotian asked with a big smile, his eyes full of anticipation, ”Big Brother, do we have other brothers and sisters?”

”Yes, you have an older sister, Fang Zhixue. I’ll make sure you meet her if the opportunity arises.” Fang Chen nodded. ”As for the other siblings, your parents’ actions have always been shrouded in mystery. I don’t know where they are for now, but eventually, our whole family will be reunited. When that day comes...”

Fang Chen glanced at the empty sky, a faint gleam flashing in his eyes. ”It will be quite a lively gathering.”

He was nearly certain now that Fang Xiaotian and Fang Xiaohua were true human cultivators, inside and out. Perhaps this was the direction his parents had planned after they ascended to the Yang Spirit Path.
