Immortal of the Nine Realms

While the Giant Sword Gate’s sword techniques mainly focused on brute strength, they were by no means clumsy. The Giant Sword Gate Master had clearly grasped the essence of his techniques and was able to execute each of his moves with great swiftness and tremendous force.

Huangfu Jie utilized his superior agility to evade the Giant Sword Gate Master’s onslaught of attacks as he simultaneously manipulated the seven profound blades to counterattack. However, the Giant Sword Gate Master was able to easily ward off the seven blades with this broadsword.

Neither side had gained the upper hand after hundreds of exchanges. The martial artists from various regions erupted into enthusiastic cheers at the spectacle; the seniors who had faced Huangfu Jie previously had only lasted for about thirty moves. Even the Azure Point Sword Sect Master, who was at the peak of Qi Manipulation, was defeated after thirty moves.

The strength that the Giant Sword Gate Master displayed was on par with Huangfu Jie, which made everyone delighted, especially since he was the leader of this operation!

”I think the Giant Sword Gate Master is the top martial artist in the southern region. Huangfu Jie doesn’t dare face him head-on.”

”Profound Blade Sect thought they could stop us with Huangfu Jie alone. Little did they know that the Giant Sword Gate Master could handle him!”

Whispers and discussions echoed in the surroundings.

Xian Kun and the others revealed a look of pride as they looked at the disciples of Profound Blade Sect with disdain.

The Giant Sword Gate Master laughed heartily. ”Is dodging the only thing you can do?” he taunted.

Huangfu Jie’s face turned cold.

Suddenly, one of his profound blades swiftly bypassed the Giant Sword Gate Master’s broadsword and aimed toward one of his vitals.

Clang!

At that critical moment, the broadsword had moved to block the profound blade, but nonetheless, it was not able to fully divert it away, and everyone saw a small cut appear on the Giant Sword Gate Master’s cheek, slowly oozing blood.

The Giant Sword Gate Master was injured, while Huangfu Jie remained unscathed.

Immediately, cheers erupted from the disciples of Profound Blade Sect, while the anticipation the disciples of Giant Sword Gate and the surrounding martial artists had died down. Their brows furrowed and their faces tensed.

Huangfu Jie indifferently said, ”My sect’s techniques are inherently lethal. They are not suited for sparring. If you continue, the next exchange will not only determine victory or defeat, but also life and death.”

The Giant Sword Gate Master touched the wound on his cheek and sneered. ”Let’s see it then!”

In the next moment, the battle seemed to intensify; each move made was extremely dangerous, causing the crowd’s hearts to be on tinterhooks the entire time.

By the time they exchanged dozens of moves, several wounds had appeared on the Giant Sword Gate Master. On the other hand, Huangfu Jie remained unscathed. The difference in their skills was evident.

After a few more moves, the Giant Sword Gate Master suddenly retreated rapidly. ”The title of the top martial artist in the southern region is well-deserved. If it weren’t for Duke Fang, you could’ve been the top martial artist in Grand Xia.”

”Since you’re well aware of Duke Fang’s strength, why did you rally people to besiege my sect? If we were related to the destruction of Heavenly Sword Villa, Duke Fang would have already destroyed my sect even without your intervention,” said Huangfu Jie calmly.

”Even if Fang Chen is powerful, this can’t be settled with just a few words,” replied the Giant Sword Gate Master.

“He’s right! What have we done wrong? Why should our Black Dragon Gang be targeted by the Valiant Saber Guards just because of Duke Fang’s words?! Over a hundred of our people were injured and killed!” someone exclaimed.

The Black Dragon Gang was one of the gangs in the Southern Immortal Prefecture.

“It’s the same for our Salt Gang! We’re just a group of merchants who learnt a bit of martial arts to protect ourselves. What have we done wrong? Why should we be disbanded just because of a few words from him?”

Voices filled with dissatisfaction echoed in the area.

“I think that the Heavenly Sword Villa must have been like us and offended Duke Fang. So...They were exterminated! Seeing that you’re so close with Duke Fang, I think you are working for him!”

”For the order in the southern region to be restored, we must be offered an explanation, and justice must be served!”

”The matter of Heavenly Sword Villa has nothing to do with Duke Fang’s plan to reorganize the Southern Immortal Prefecture. If you are innocent, why would the Valiant Saber Guards find trouble with you? Don’t think you can do whatever you want in the southern region just because it’s far from the imperial capital,” snapped Huangfu Jie sternly.

”We southerners have our own set of rules, and all of us are law-abiding citizens. If someone makes a mistake, we sit down together and talk it out to find a solution. Why did the Valiant Saber Guard intervene? Only with various factions present could we have a martial arts scene in the southern region. If most of the sects in the Southern Immortal Prefecture are eliminated, it is only a matter of time before the remaining eight prefectures are eliminated. At that point, the southern region would be just like the northern region—without a martial arts scene!”

The Giant Sword Gate Master said in a deep voice, ”Heavenly Sword Villa is the cause of this matter. Since it started with them, it should end with them. Give us a proper explanation. Otherwise, we will take it upon ourselves to maintain the order of the southern region’s martial scene.”

”How arrogant!” shouted Jue Panshi, who had been trapped inside Profound Blade Sect for many days, furiously. ”Do you really think you can act lawlessly? A group of ragtag people. As long as I have tens of thousands of elite soldiers, I can easily wipe out all of you!”

”Haha...” Many martial artists laughed.

The Giant Sword Gate Master also laughed. ”Commander Jue, where are the tens of thousands of elite soldiers? Why haven’t they moved? Are you really that clueless about the situation?”

Jue Panshi was momentarily speechless.

”Ah...” Huangfu Jie suddenly sighed. ”My lord was right. The martial scene in the southern region is in chaos. When there is chaos, the ones who suffer are the commoners.”

The Giant Sword Gate Master shook his head slightly. ”You are wrong, and he is wrong too. The martial scene in the southern region has never been in chaos. Only by maintaining the previous system will the martial scene in the southern region be peaceful.”

”Exterminate the Profound Blade Sect! Show the northern region our intentions!”

”In the past, we didn’t interfere with each other. However, Fang Chen insisted on intervening in the affairs of the southern region. He is not even a martial artist of southern region’s martial arts scene, so why is he meddling in our affairs?!”

”Send Huangfu Jie’s head to the capital. Fang Chen will naturally know our stance then. If he doesn’t let us off, the southern region will tear itself away from Grand Xia and become independent!”

”In terms of strength, we are much stronger than them. How many soldiers in Grand Xia are from here? So many people from the southern region died at Three World Mountain, yet Fang Chen still dares to make a move against us?”

”Exactly! Several generals in Grand Xia came from the south. Not to mention that there are people from the southern region everywhere in the army. When fighting outsiders, they can obey the northern region’s orders, but if they are fighting their people, see which side they will stand on!”

”Since the strongest sect masters from each prefecture are all here, why not hold a martial arts conference? We can select a leader, and in the future, we can set the rules of the southern region ourselves!”

The expressions of the crowd changed slightly.

The Azure Point Sword Sect Master subconsciously glanced at the Giant Sword Gate Master, his expression becoming serious.

”Oh, no! Our Profound Blade Sect will be the one to be put on the chopping board!” The Profound Blade Sect Master expression shifted erratically. He immediately shouted to Huangfu Jie. ”Escape, now!”

”We can first avenge Heavenly Sword Villa before choosing a leader. From the remaining sects, we can choose one of them to represent the Southern Immortal Prefecture,” said the Giant Sword Gate Master indifferently.

Upon hearing that, the eyes of thousands of martial artists suddenly glittered. Being able to control Southern Immortal Prefecture was something they had dreamed of. It was the place closest to the northern region, making it the most prosperous among the nine prefectures!

After today, the situation in the southern region will undergo earth-shattering changes, and they will all benefit greatly from it. It could be considered a revolution in the martial scene of the southern region!

Thousands of martial artists slowly approached the Profound Blade Sect. After being besieged for many days, today was finally the start of the bloodshed!
