Immortal of the Nine Realms

Seeing that Zhong Ying had arrived, many of the disciples of the Azure Point Sword Sect turned to greet her. They were visibly angry.

”Junior Sister Zhong.”

”Senior Sister.”

Zhong Yingn nodded at them, then turned her attention toward her sect master. ”Are you okay, Master?” she asked worriedly.

”It’s fine, I was just caught off guard.” The sect master shook his head slightly. He then looked at Huangfu Jie and sighed. “The Profound Blade Sect has such outstanding talents. It is no surprise that they can stand tall among the four major sects. Our Azure Point Sword Sect is still much weaker in comparison.”

”Sect Master,” interjected one of the disciples, his face indignant, “Huangfu Jie only won because he’s young and is in his prime.”

”Hehe.” The sect master shook his head, chuckled, and said, ”We martial artists should not be timid, but we shouldn’t also be blinded with arrogance. He’s strong, and I am weak. That’s it. There is no need for us to fish for excuses.

“The Profound Blade Sect focuses only on practicing the Profound Blade Technique, but their sect master can only control up to five Profound Blades at once, and when he was his at son’s age, he could only three. You say he only won because he’s young?” He shook his head. “His talent is truly the best in the southern region. Perhaps... only just slightly inferior to that Divine General Fang.”

The group was struck with surprise; it was a little unnatural for their sect master to praise Huangfu Jie’s talent to such a high degree. While it was well-known, and widely accepted, that the martial arts scene in the southern region was much more prosperous than the scene in the Northern Region, there was still one name that made everyone feel stifled at the mention of it—Fang Chen, the Divine General.

He was the youngest person to reach the Qi Core Stage in history. And recently, news broke that he had become the Duke of Grand Xia and that he had defeated the Earth Profound Stage heaven chosen of the Frost Water Empire!

By the time the Azure Point Sword Sect Master had finished speaking, the Qi Condensation expert who was fighting against Huangfu Jie had already been defeated and sent flying dozens of yards away with three gaping wounds on him.

Huangfu Jie stood with his hands behind his back, his seven Profound Blades revolving around him, a scene which left the martial artists present pensive. It was truly rare to have such precise control over one’s internal qi!

Behind him, the disciples of the Profound Blade Sect burst into enthusiastic cheers. As for the defeated Qi Condensation expert, his face turned green. He was helped off the ground and to the side with the support of some disciples.

Yuan Zhuang quickly noticed Yuan Yu and the others standing amongst the disciples of the Profound Blade Sect, cheering wildly, and his expression turned strange.

The thousands of martial artists around were wary and on edge, but they found comfort in their huge numbers. Even if Seven Profound Blade was the top expert in the southern region, he was only one man. How could he possibly withstand their charge all alone?

”Huangfu Jie, how dare you act so heavy-handed against your seniors? The Qishan Sect Master is more than ten times your age, shouldn’t you show some humility and courtesy?” shouted a sect master furiously.

”It seems that becoming one of the four major sects has made the Profound Blade Sect look down on others. What they are unaware of is that the only reason we have yet to make a move is because of our old friendship!” added another sect master.

Hearing that, the disciples of the Profound Blade Sect couldn’t help but feel that these people were truly shameless.

Yuan Yu turned her head toward the several constables by her side and said, ”Do you see this, too? Isn’t this too shameless?

The constables from the Grand Brilliance Bureau nodded awkwardly.

They were the ones who had surrounded the Profound Blade Sect, yet they were now complaining that Huangfu Jei was being too heavy-handed...

”You are the ones who wanted to attack us, yet you’re actually blaming me for being too heavy-handed? If I hadn’t held back earlier, these seniors I fought might have not been able to survive,” said Huangfu Jie coldly.

A middle-aged man walked to Huangfu Jie’s side and clasped his fists toward the martial artists around him. ”Everyone, my son has already shown mercy. Isn’t it about time you stop?

“Our Profound Blade Sect has absolutely nothing to do with the destruction of the Heavenly Sword Villa. The criminals have long been found and killed by Divine General Fang. I hope everyone can be understanding and reasonable.”

He was the Profound Blade Sect Master and Huangfu Jie’s father.

When the martial artists heard Fang Chen’s name, the surroundings immediately quieted down. ℴ

However, after a few breaths, a deep voice rang out, ”Sect Master, words alone are not enough. You claim that Divine General Fang has killed the criminals. Then what is the full name and background of these criminals? Where are their corpses? All of these details can’t simply be left out. Otherwise, how can we believe you? Now that Heavenly Sword Villa is gone, the Southern Immortal Prefecture has seemingly fallen right into the hands of your sect. Don’t you think that’s a little suspicious?”

The person who had just spoken was a middle-aged man with a well-built figure that was comparable to Huang Sihai. Beside him was a huge sword that resembled a door. It exuded a cold aura.

Jue Panshi also walked out of the crowd and said amicably, “Giant Sword Gate Master, I can testify for Profound Blade Sect regarding this matter. Not long ago, Divine General Fang came to the southern region, but for some reason, he left as soon as he found the criminals he was searching for, perhaps due to some urgent matters in the capital. As for the corpses of the criminals, he must have his own reasons for not leaving them behind. I hope everyone can be reasonable.”

”Jue Panshi, how can we trust your words? You are siding with Divine General Fang, and we all know that Huangfu Jie is friends with him, so it’s normal for you to speak up for them. What we want now is evidence.”

”You led your troops and besieged so many sects in the Southern Immortal Prefecture. Was it... you who destroyed the Heavenly Sword Villa?!”

“What exactly are you trying to achieve?”

Everyone was cursing loudly.

Jue Panshi’s face turned pale. He instantly understood. These people didn’t break into the Profound Blade Sect to attack them. No. They were waiting for an explanation. And the absence of his elite subordinates indicated that they were currently being restrained by certain people.

At that moment, he finally realized how chaotic the situation in the southern region was. Among his guards, it was likely that most of them had close ties with these sects!

Huangfu Jie squinted. ”Giant Sword Gate Master, what exactly are you trying to achieve?”

”I am simply seeking justice for the southern region’s martial scene. Otherwise, the southern region would undoubtedly become a river of blood.”

The Giant Sword Gate Master chuckled. He grabbed his broadsword by the handle as he looked at Huangfu Jie calmly. ”Seven Profound Blade, I am more than twenty years older than you. Even though you claim to be the top martial artist in the southern region, we never had the chance to fight each other. Today, let’s have a fight!”

The Giant Sword Gate Master unsheathed his sword, and as the broadsword was drawn, the ground beneath it instantly cracked open, and numerous cracks spread over a dozen yards away.

Everyone was amazed by the internal qi of the Giant Sword Gate Master, but soon, they became extremely delighted. Perhaps he would be the one to finally defeat Huangfu Jie!

”If I win, are you willing to take these people and withdraw?” asked Huangfu Jie in a deep voice.

“Obviously not.” He laughed heartily. “Even if I’m defeated, the martial artists who came with me today have not yet lost.” He lifted the broadsword like a giant primordial beast. Then, step by step, he charged toward Huangfu Jie.

His movements appeared heavy, but in just a breath’s time, he appeared in front of Huangfu Jie. His internal qi surged as he swished his broadsword down fiercely!

Seeing that, Yuan Zhuang glanced at Fang Chen instinctively. However, he saw Fang Chen calmly closing his eyes, which reassured him. If his lord wasn’t anxious, it meant that everything was still within his control!
