Upon hearing this, Eld quickly clutched his coat pocket, “It was just a joke.

Why are you taking it seriously?

I still need to keep this note for a while.

We from the classical literature department are going to have a reunion soon, and I need to boast about this with my classmates.

This is Lord Byron’s daughter!

Her status is not something those ordinary nobility daughters can match in the eyes of us classical literature researchers.”

Arthur frowned and said, “A reunion for the classical literature department?

Where do you plan to hold it?”

“Where else could it be?

Of course, on the campus!” Eld said with pride, “You know, the University of London is going through a tough time.

We, the alumni, certainly need to go back to the university to set an example for the juniors, to tell them that even without the Royal Charter, the graduates of the University of London can also carve out their own future with diligent hands and intelligent minds!”

“Yes…” Arthur said teasingly, “It would be even better if they had a relative who is an admiral in the Royal Navy.”

Eld glared at him, “Arthur, can’t you stop spelling things out so clearly?

You’ve got to give them some hope!

Do I really have to go tell those clueless graduates that they should stop dreaming of comparing themselves with those lords from Oxford and Cambridge?”

After thinking for a moment, Arthur mimicked Eld’s posture and crossed his legs, “Perhaps you’re right.

When is the reunion?

I might come with you.

I’ve also been planning to make a contribution to the job placement rate of our alma mater before I leave Scotland Yard.”

“Leaving Scotland Yard?” Eld furrowed his brow, “What happened?”

Arthur replied, without much concern, “Nothing serious, just the same as last time, I ended up scolding my boss.

But unfortunately, last time I was scolded, I happened to win Sir Peel’s approval.

This time, however, it just so happened that the Tory Party fell from power, so I’m in a rather shaky position.”

From the attitude of Director Rowan today, he seems to have made connections with some big shot in the Whig Party, so he couldn’t wait to come and give me a hard time.

Although I’ve thought about contacting Lady Copper to introduce me to some influential members of the Whig Party, our relationship isn’t close enough yet, and by the time I can get connected, I don’t know if it’ll be too late.”

Upon hearing this, Eld sprang up from the couch, “Damn it, who does he think he is?

Thinks he’s the only one with connections in the Whig Party?

Arthur, you’re usually smart, so how could you forget something so crucial at a time like this?

Don’t forget where you graduated from, and who is the spiritual father of our school?

The Tory Party may not be fond of Jeremy Bentham, but there are plenty of Bentham’s admirers in the Whig Party!

And in our university, aren’t there a few members running for Parliament?

Given the current situation, in this election, it’s quite possible for our university to get a few people into high positions.

I’m also hoping to use this election to get the Royal Charter for our university from the Parliament!”

Reminded by Eld’s words, Arthur pondered for a moment, and his tightly furrowed brows gradually relaxed.

He stood up, looked at Eld, and couldn’t help but pat his shoulder, “Eld.”

“What is it?”

Arthur smiled at him and nodded emphatically, “People often say you’re no good, but I’ve never believed them.

The longer I’m with you, the more I believe, you bastard, might really be a genius.”
