The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 717: Chapter 283: Old Friends and New Street, Buying a Watch_5

”Wow, is what Qu Shao said true? Then, Sister Jiang, you are so lucky!”

When they arrived at a certain spot in the Wangfujing commercial district, those in front, like Wang Feiyu, suddenly stopped, and Zhou Wang heard Yueyue’s exaggerated shout.

Initially, Zhou Wang didn’t want to pay attention, but seeing Wang Ying and others also heading over, and noticing that Wang Feiyu seemed to be waiting for the two of them, he reluctantly took Jiang Mo along.

Wang Feiyu was indeed intentionally waiting for them; he smiled and pointed to the store sign behind him as Zhou Wang approached.

”We need to pick up something here, how about we go in and have a look together?”

Zhou Wang looked up and noticed that behind him was actually a Rolex specialty store. The store’s luxurious facade had a gold crown gleaming on it, with the word ”ROLEX” engraved below.

”Brother Yu, are you guys planning to buy a Rolex?”

Wang Ying and Cindy were clearly not very familiar with this; they looked puzzled, while Brother Jie, having some knowledge as a guy, asked in surprise.

The two girls couldn’t understand the English, but upon hearing the word ”Rolex,” they seemed to have some impression.

”Is this brand very expensive?”

Wang Ying asked curiously.

”Expensive isn’t the word; it is the king of watches, you know?”

Knowing more, Yueyue laughed and said, ”I only shouted earlier because I heard Qu Shao say he was going to give Sister Xiaobai a Rolex. Wang Ying, can you guess how much the watch Qu Shao is giving costs?”

”How much?” Wang Ying instinctively asked.

”Sixty to seventy K!”

”So expensive?”

Wang Ying was truly shocked, and Cindy also showed a surprised expression.

They were still inexperienced students, and considering their family backgrounds, hearing that a watch cost as much as two years of their living expenses was quite shocking.

”Sixty to seventy K isn’t considered a very expensive watch, and there’s something Yueyue said wrong. Rolex isn’t the king of watches; it’s only among the top of the pyramid. The true king of watches is Patek Philippe, though it has a purchase threshold not everyone can meet...”

Wang Feiyu smiled, waved his hand, and corrected Yueyue’s statement.

Qu Jie also laughed and added, ”Sixty to seventy K is just entry-level for Rolex, and Rolex is always low on stock, so this is the only one we could order in a hurry. It’s just a first meeting gift for Xiaobai... Here, your Brother Yu is the one actually picking up a watch; the ’Yu Wenle’ he ordered has arrived. I’m just tagging along.”

”Isn’t Yu Wenle a star? What does he have to do with Rolex?”

Wang Ying was even more confused.

”There’s a Rolex watch called the ’Yu Wenle.’ It’s not an official name; people just call it that, just like the ’Coke Bezel’ I’m wearing is just a nickname.”

Wang Feiyu showed off the watch on his wrist at the right moment.

Zhou Wang didn’t know how many times he almost laughed today. Qu Jie always acted so high and mighty during meals, but surprisingly, he knew how to play the sidekick at crucial moments so Wang Feiyu could effortlessly show off. The two were indeed good buddies...

”Brother Yu, how much does this watch cost?”

Zhang Jie took a look and asked with a bit of envy.

”The ’Coke Bezel’ I have isn’t too bad, it’s over ten K if bought with a markup. But the ’Yu Wenle’ I just ordered is a bit more expensive, probably thirty to forty K...”

Wang Feiyu mentioned it nonchalantly, once again stunning Wang Ying, Zhang Jie, and others.

If they thought tens of thousands for a watch was just luxurious, then a watch costing hundreds of thousands really exceeded their understanding.

That could buy a house in a small town...

Seeing Zhang Jie showing a look of longing, Wang Feiyu laughed heartily and patted his shoulder. ”Keep working hard, maybe one day you can afford a Rolex too.”

”Brother Yu, I know my limits, I can’t even dream about a Rolex...”

Zhang Jie quickly shook his hand.

”Well, there are tons of watch brands. If you can’t reach Rolex, think about others, like the IWC watch Zhou Wang is wearing. The average price is only two to three K; you still have a chance if you work hard.”

”Wow, Zhou Wang, is your watch that expensive too?”

Wang Ying and Cindy looked at Zhou Wang in surprise again.

But maybe because they had already been shocked by the ”astronomical” price of a Rolex, plus Zhou Wang was wearing shoes worth thousands, they felt it was alright.

”IWC has both cheap and expensive ones, and mine’s alright.”

Zhou Wang just smiled at this.

Wang Feiyu curled his lips aside. What’s with ”expensive ones” and ”mine’s alright”? It’s just IWC—how expensive could it be?

He had little regard for Zhou Wang trying to save face in this way. But seeing Jiang Mo beside, who showed no response and seemed a bit distant, Wang Feiyu couldn’t help but feel frustrated.

He put on a show, yet it seemed to have made no impression on her.

Damn, how could a girl be so hard to chase? How did Zhou Wang manage to win her over back then...

He even wanted to pay Zhou Wang for some consultation if possible.

”Shall we? Want to take a look inside together?”

Wang Feiyu quickly perked up and suggested again.

”Momo and I will pass, you guys go ahead.”

Zhou Wang shook his head.

”Then... we won’t go either. Cindy wants to buy a sound card, so I’ll go with her to check it out. Brother Yu, you guys buy your watches, and we’ll meet up at the restaurant later.”

Wang Ying hesitated for a moment, then quickly said.

After more persuading from Wang Feiyu, Qu Jie also got tired and finally nodded with a reluctant smile, ”Alright then, see you later.”

Wang Feiyu, Qu Jie, Jiang Mubai, and Yueyue entered the Rolex store together, while Brother Jie, after hesitating a bit, couldn’t resist the longing and curiosity and went in too.

Only then did Wang Ying sigh in relief and mutter, ”Who would be interested in showing off wealth? It’s not like I’m flaunting it for you to see...”

Zhou Wang gave a wry smile, and Cindy also chuckled.

Wang Ying felt a bit embarrassed and quickly changed the topic, asking Zhou Wang, ”So Zhou Wang, are you joining us to buy the sound card?”

”No, I just remembered I need to buy something too... I recall you saying earlier that it’s not far from Qianmen Street, right?”

Zhou Wang asked.

”Yes, just crossing the square will get you to Qianmen Street... Hey, we were heading there too, do you have an exact address?”

”Hold on a second.”

Zhou Wang pulled out his phone to search for a moment, then showed the screen to Wang Ying. ”I need to go here; if it’s on the way, we can go together.”

”Let me see!”

Wang Ying leaned in and read aloud, ”Dong Dajie 23, Building 1, Qianmen East Street... Huh, your buying address is that precise? Hahaha, looks like it’s on the way... Wait, what kind of ’weird name’ is ’Patek Philippe Yuan Mansion’?”

Wang Ying was stunned as soon as she repeated it, for some reason finding a couple of the words familiar, like she had heard them somewhere just now...
