The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 345: Chapter 176 Just Happy to See You_3

Thinking about what Cheng Zhe said, Xu Wenqian’s mother, even if she wasn’t as disbelieving as her father, couldn’t help but worry.

”Mom, do you know how long I’ve taken off and how much work I’ve missed?”

Xu Wenqian looked helpless, but her tone was firm, ”My boss is really nice, but that doesn’t mean I can act recklessly just because he favors me... If I don’t go back, I’ll have to resign.”

”Favor?”

Xu Wenqian said a lot, but Xu’s mom obviously only caught that keyword, looking suspicious, ”You and your boss, are you really...”

Xu Wenqian blushed, then shook her head, ”Mom, how many times have I said it, my boss and I have a purely professional relationship, do you really choose to believe Cheng Zhe over your own daughter?”

Although Xu Wenqian had always been submissive to Zhou Wang, and she couldn’t deny that she had feelings for him, possibly even to the point of no return, but...

Deep down, she knew very clearly that she and Zhou Wang couldn’t have a future like an ordinary couple.

With her parents’ conservative mindset, there was no way they could accept her being a ”lover” for Zhou Wang, and she couldn’t admit to this relationship.

For this reason, Xu Wenqian didn’t want Zhou Wang to know her current predicament. She just wanted to escape all this and return to Zhou Wang as soon as possible, waiting for time to ease the tensions with her parents...

Maybe it was a bit selfish, but Xu Wenqian missed Zhou Wang so much she was going crazy.

When she was with him every day, she didn’t feel it, but being apart for so long now, Xu Wenqian only saw him, closing her eyes and opening them. She wanted to hear Zhou Wang’s voice again, hoped he would jokingly scold her, or tear everything apart in a rage...

Even when she finally saw Zhou Wang, she could only hide these girlish feelings, but...

As long as she saw him, it would be enough.

”Of course Mom believes you, otherwise I wouldn’t have argued with your dad.”

Xu’s mom sighed, ”But you know your dad’s stubbornness, he believed Cheng Zhe’s words and now thinks people are talking behind our backs. He forces you to find a job in Yi County and even says if you dare to leave home, don’t come back... Mom is also helpless!”

”Mom, you’ve listened to Dad for a lifetime, and what’s the result? If it weren’t for Dad, your job at the textile factory... Forget it.”

Seeing her mother’s uncomfortable expression, Xu Wenqian couldn’t bear to continue. She thought for a moment, took a thick envelope from her bag, and put it in her mother’s hand.

”Mom, here’s ten thousand yuan, take it secretly and don’t give it to Dad, get yourself something nice...”

”Qianqian, Mom doesn’t want it... You’re alone in Ming City, you need to pay rent, you should keep it for yourself...”

Xu’s mom quickly refused.

To prevent misunderstandings, Xu Wenqian told her parents that her new job only paid ten thousand a month, and she had just started. The money from Cheng Zhe hadn’t been retrieved yet, so Xu’s mom believed her daughter didn’t have much money and couldn’t imagine that Xu Wenqian didn’t need to pay any rent now...

Xu Wenqian could only explain, ”Mom, don’t worry, I have enough money, the company even gave me a bonus this month...”

Even though it was only her first month on the job, theoretically she only worked nine days the previous month, but Zhou Wang generously paid her a full month’s salary.

A basic salary of thirty thousand, plus a bonus of twenty thousand, meant Xu Wenqian earned fifty thousand for a week’s work, and without any living expenses, she was quite well-off now...

Seeing Xu Wenqian insisting, Xu’s mom had to accept the money, ”If you run out, you must tell Mom...”

After taking the money, Xu’s mom thought for a moment, then made up her mind, ”Alright, Qianqian, leave before your dad gets off work. I’ll find the car keys for you...”

”You took my car keys?”

Xu Wenqian was stunned, quickly rummaged through her bag, and discovered that her Volvo’s keys were indeed missing...

”Mom, I said it’s the company’s car, not mine, how could you do this!”

Xu Wenqian felt wronged.

”Mom didn’t want to, but your dad was afraid you’d run away and insisted... Wait, let me get them.”

Looking guilty, Xu’s mom hurried to the bedroom, rummaging through and finally taking out the Volvo’s car keys.

Xu Wenqian got the keys and was about to pick up her suitcase to leave when there was a commotion at the door.

Both Xu Wenqian and Xu’s mom turned pale, thinking it was Xu Wenqian’s father, but then there was a knock and a loud shout:

”Aunt Qian, are you home? Cheng Zhe’s family is causing trouble again, and Uncle Xu is blocking the community gate!”

Xu Wenqian’s face changed. She rushed to the window, looked down, and could vaguely see a crowd gathered at the narrow community entrance.

Reluctantly giving up her plan to leave, Xu Wenqi and a somewhat flustered Xu’s mom hurriedly went downstairs toward the community gate...
