The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 340: Chapter 175 Let’s go eat duck! (Requesting monthly tickets)_4

”Young Master Zhang, that’s not right, they’re not letting the cars go.”

Tang Yiming pointed to a spot not too far away.

The group turned their heads to look and only then realized that some security guards had appeared on the track at some point, blocking the cars trying to enter.

”Hmm?”

Zhang Zhiyuan frowned upon hearing this, quickly walking over to check the situation. A surprised Zhou Wang and the others followed him.

As they approached, there wasn’t any tension. The uniformed guards were all quite polite. The middle-aged man who seemed to be the leader took the cigarette Zhang Zhiyuan handed over and smiled wryly.

”Sorry, the manager you mentioned, Mr. Zheng, we really don’t know him. Our management only knows a Mr. Wang from the Group Company. I just confirmed over the phone with him, and this place isn’t open to the public for now. Do you think there might be a misunderstanding here?”

”You don’t know Manager Zheng?”

Hearing the security leader’s words, Zhang Zhiyuan was taken aback. He took out his phone and tried dialing.

A moment later, even though Zhang Zhiyuan didn’t say anything, Zhou Wang and the others already guessed what was going on from his expression.

”Got scammed?”

Zhou Wang asked.

”Seems like it... that damn phone can’t be reached.”

Zhang Zhiyuan was so mad he wanted to smash his phone, feeling more than a bit embarrassed, probably not expecting to fall for such a basic scam.

”Should we call the police first?”

Tang Yiming asked quickly.

”A few thousand bucks isn’t a big deal, we’ll talk about it later. Mainly, it’s a bit hard to explain to everyone...”

Zhang Zhiyuan barely managed to calm down, looking at the club members waiting a bit further back for their negotiations, frowning again.

”It’s one thing normally, but this is the club’s first group event since it was founded... Damn it!”

Ultimately, he couldn’t help but curse once more.

Zhou Wang also understood. After all, someone had already mentioned that they came for this. Some of them, although they bought supercars, had never truly experienced a real track because there’s no suitable venue in Yunan Province...

It didn’t necessarily have to be professional, just thrilling would be enough.

Young Master Zhang made painstaking efforts to find such an unfinished track to best meet everyone’s needs.

As a result, the first event turned into such a blunder, understandably a bit humiliating for him...

”How about this, Brother Yuan, I’ll go and explain to them first, you come over later, no worries, I think everyone will understand...”

Tang Yiming suggested at this point.

At the moment, there was no other choice. Just as Zhang Zhiyuan was about to nod, Zhou Wang, who had been pondering for a while, stopped them.

”Wait, let me see if there’s another way.”

Zhang Zhiyuan and Tang Yiming were a bit puzzled about what Zhou Wang could do, but without much explanation, he motioned for them to wait and approached the security leader.

”Hey there, brother, I noticed the banners outside the track. Is this circuit being developed by Yalong Real Estate?”

”Yes, our Mr. Wang is the deputy manager of the project department at Yalong Real Estate...”

The security leader nodded.

After confirming, Zhou Wang pulled out his phone and made a call to Lu Conglin, the executive vice president of Yalong Real Estate Group—the same person who had helped Zhou Wang swap houses.

”Hey there, Mr. Zhou, you finally have time to have a meal with me?”

As soon as the call connected, Lu Conglin’s laughter came through.

During this time, Lu Conglin had invited Zhou Wang several times, and although they never managed to meet up for a meal, Lu Conglin had visited Zhou Wang at home, keeping up appearances.

”Mr. Lu, sorry to bother you, I should be the one inviting you, but I haven’t had the time... I’m reaching out today because I need a favor.”

After a brief exchange, Zhou Wang got straight to the point.

”It would be my honor to help you, ha ha, just say the word!”

”Here’s the thing...”

Zhou Wang briefly explained the situation.

”The Guangwei Interchange? Oh, I remember now. There’s a piece of land there that’s been converted into a racetrack project, but the contractor’s cash flow has had some issues recently, so the project is on hold for now...”

Upon hearing it was a matter like this, Lu Conglin felt relieved and spoke more casually.

Given Yalong Real Estate’s scale, a project this small was completely under his control.

”So, Mr. Zhou, no need for us to go back and forth over this. I’ll give Mr. Wang at the project department a heads-up, and if you want to use that land, feel free. The project hasn’t found another backer yet, and it’s just a piece of wasteland for now, ha ha ha...”

”Great, I’ll take you up on that, Mr. Lu. We should plan a time for me to visit your place...”

Zhou Wang laughed and thanked him, then hung up the phone.

When Zhou Wang made the call, he didn’t avoid Zhang Zhiyuan and the others, and they had already gathered the gist of it.

”Brother Dog, did you contact Lu Conglin from Yalong Real Estate?”

Tang Yiming, being the ”local source,” figured out who Zhou Wang called just from the greeting and asked, intrigued.

”Yeah, it was Mr. Lu. The problem should be resolved. Young Master Zhang, I just sent your number to Mr. Lu, and Mr. Wang, who’s in charge of the site, should contact you soon...”

Zhou Wang replied while fiddling with his phone.

Finally, he added a reminder, ”By the way, Mr. Lu also mentioned to me that this little racetrack might be an abandoned project, and they’re looking for a new buyer. So, if you’re interested...”
