Crafting an Immortal Race with Daily Hexagrams

Chapter 95: Chapter 94: Laying the Plan (7/10)

”Master, you... can speak now?”

Lu Zhiyuan slowly opened his eyes, stood up, and smiled at him.

”Sound is vibration.”

”I merely used a little technique.”

His mouth did not open, yet the voice was clear to the ear.

Shen Wenyan found this incredible.

”This misfortune has turned into a blessing for me, forging a new path.”

”The vast righteous Qi of heaven and earth endures forever.”

”We literati should take ’preserving righteous energy, rectifying oneself’ as our duty.”

”Heaven and earth have righteous Qi, diverse in form.”

Shen Wenyan seemed thoughtful.

The changes in Lu Zhiyuan appeared like a bright lamp in the vast night sky, suddenly illuminating his path.

”Is there something you need?”

Lu Zhiyuan looked at him with a smile.

Shen Wenyan, without pondering on the matter of ’vast righteous Qi’, immediately cupped his hands and spoke about his mother’s ”arranged marriage” pressure.

”Master, I don’t know how to choose.”

After hearing this, Lu Zhiyuan subtly smiled: ”If this had happened earlier, I might not have been able to solve your problem.”

”But now, there is a way to achieve both goals.”

Shen Wenyan hurriedly cupped his hands: ”Please, Master, enlighten me.”

Lu Zhiyuan nodded: ”Fulfill filial duty with the body, pursue the Literary Dao with the spirit.”

...

In the evening, Shen Wenxing returned home and sat with Shen Yuan in the courtyard, discussing the management of Jinliu Village.

”Ah Die, I think we shouldn’t make big moves, just gather the villagers and announce the matter.”

”Then select some capable people to help manage things.”

Hearing his words, Shen Yuan scoffed.

”Hmph... You brat, this is lack of action.”

”The whole village, one hundred and forty-five households, more than five hundred common people, that will be our family’s foundation in the future.”

”Without proper management, how can we let it loose?”

”Times have changed.” Shen Yuan sighed deeply with his hands behind his back and said, ”I’ve always told you, ’Relying on mountains, they will crumble; relying on people, they will flee.’”

”We must become strong ourselves.”

Shen Wenxing scratched his head awkwardly: ”Ah Die, what do you plan to do?”

Shen Yuan thought for a long time and said: ”Ah Nu has agreed to marry Zhao Xuan from your Uncle Zhao’s family, and our relationship with the Zhao family is pretty good.”

”Zhao family’s two sons have also grown up; they can both support us.”

”Before you arrived, I reviewed our village’s farmland, totaling nearly three hundred qing.”

”That much land, and just that old rascal Scholar Li’s family alone holds nearly a hundred qing.”

”Now that Jinliu Village is ours, we cannot ignore this.”

”Moreover, as the village is handed over to us, we must be accountable. I plan to select some of age children from the villagers and teach them martial arts.”

”In the future, when these children grow up, they will be of great use to us.”

...

Shen Yuan shared numerous plans in one breath.

Shen Wenxing could barely remember at first, but in the end, due to the sheer amount, he had no choice but to ask Shen Wenping to bring pen and paper to write everything down.

”For now, that’s about it.”

Waving his hand slightly, Shen Yuan finished saying all he could think of and left anything unforeseen to be supplemented in the future as practice ensued.

”Ah Die.”

Shen Wenping organized the papers in front of her and said: ”Daughter has a suggestion.”

”Little sister, don’t cause trouble.”

Shen Wenxing quickly interjected.

”Let her speak.”

Shen Yuan turned to look at his daughter.

The little girl had been smart and clever from a young age, having learned quite a bit of reading and writing under the second child over the years. Now, at over ten years old, it was normal for her to have her own perspectives.

Moreover, he was not someone who favored sons over daughters.

”We could open a winery in the town.”

”The wine Ah Die brews is definitely going to be more popular than that from Kang’s Winery!”

”And there are our family’s peaches and millet!”

”They can be sold separately!”

Hearing this, Shen Wenxing frowned, just as he was about to speak, Shen Wenping continued: ”Ah Die, now the whole Jinliu Village belongs to us.”

”You can later share the fermentation technique with the villagers, allowing them to cultivate rice as refined as ours.”

”In non-farming seasons, they can make wine, and you can also teach them the method of planting peaches.”

”In the future, let the entire Anyang County, and even the whole of Yunzhong County, know about the products of Jinliu Village, enabling the villagers to earn more money.”

”Once they have money, they’ll eat better, and then can buy medicinal meals from Uncle Huang, and then won’t we have more martial artists?”

Facing the bright gleam in her eyes, Shen Wenxing was stunned.

He knew that this sister had always been particularly interested in business and making money since childhood.

Today’s words truly amazed him.

A series of interconnected plans, seemingly premeditated.

”Haha...”

Shen Yuan suddenly laughed.

He truly didn’t expect his daughter to have such advanced commercial thinking.

Sharing techniques, collective production, pursuing high-end routes, building a brand, ultimately maximizing benefits for the Shen family.

”Shi Tou, what do you think of your little sister’s ideas?”

Shen Wenxing smiled wryly: ”I don’t understand, but it sounds feasible.”

Shen Yuan nodded: ”Then, in a few days, take Wenping to Yunshui Town, ask your mother for some money, and set up a few shops.”

”Also, visit your father-in-law’s family and ask them to help identify the ingredients and formulas for medicinal meals that martial artists use to train their bodies.”

The medicinal meals at Huang Qingzhou’s Martial Arts Hall were not of his own concoction.

With long-term planning, Shen Yuan felt it would be best to uncover the formula for these medicinal meals.

The areas around Black Water Pool still had plenty of vacant lands. If the herbs used in the medicinal meal formula could be cultivated, it could save a significant amount of money.

Shen Wenxing nodded.

At dawn the next morning.

The father and son visited the home of Village Chief Yang Changlin in Jinliu Village.

As the Village Chief of Jinliu Village, Yang Changlin had already received orders that henceforth Jinliu Village was the Shen family’s fief.

The Shen family was the authority in Jinliu Village.

”Ah... Patriarch Shen.”

Yang Changlin was accustomed to calling him ”Ah Yuan,” but realizing it was inappropriate, he immediately corrected himself and bowed in respect.

Shen Yuan gently helped him up with a smile: ”Uncle Yang, there’s no need for such formalities. You are of high virtue and prestige; I will likely need your assistance in the future.”

Yang Changlin, feeling a bit flustered, straightened up with a chuckle: ”Shall I gather everyone now?”

Shen Yuan nodded.

The serene sound of the copper chime echoed, and the villagers, hearing the sound, began to make their way to the village square one after another.

Some well-informed villagers had already caught wind of the news, saying that the Immortal Sect had bestowed Jinliu Village to Shen Yuan’s family.

This time, seeing Shen Yuan and his son behind Yang Changlin, their feelings were complex.

Seeing that most of the villagers had arrived.

Shen Wenxing glanced at his father, who nodded, and then stepped forward to announce various matters.

In addition to what Shen Yuan had talked about yesterday, there were some new regulations included.

Upon hearing that the Shen family planned to reclaim all the fields and redistribute them based on the headcount, Scholar Li in the crowd could not hold back and began causing a commotion.

His three sons arrogantly refused to give up their land.

They knew well that the money the Li brothers had earned back in the day from running the mountain wanderer’s business had mostly been used to purchase fields and become landlords.

Now having to give up the land was akin to taking their lives.

Glancing at the most vocal eldest son of the Li family, Shen Wenxing furrowed his brow and slowly walked forward.

”The Immortal Sect has gifted Jinliu Village to our Shen family, and everything in Jinliu Village is Shen family’s.”

”Including...your life!”

”If you dare to say one more word, don’t blame me for disregarding neighborly bonds.”

The eldest son of the Li family was intimidated by his powerful aura, his face flushed with embarrassment and unable to speak.

Shen Wenxing slowly withdrew his aura and faintly said: ”If you are dissatisfied, you are free to leave Jinliu Village at any time.”

”But... everything in your home also belongs to the Shen family, not even a copper coin can be taken.”

Behind him, Shen Yuan watched this scene with a satisfied smile.

The previous night, he had specifically told Shen Wenxing to assert himself today.

The obedient ones would be neighbors, elders.

The disobedient, however, were enemies, and there was no need to tolerate them.
