Crafting an Immortal Race with Daily Hexagrams

Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Literary Heart

What’s this?

Shen Yuan curiously looked at the light orb, wondering why the White Jade Turtle Shell had suddenly produced this thing.

With a sense of doubt, his consciousness slowly made contact with the egg-sized light orb.

In an instant, the light orb disappeared, and a myriad of strange sensations surged into his soul via his consciousness!

Shen Yuan was stunned on the spot!

The light orb carried a multitude of mixed things, which took him tremendous effort to fully digest.

This is... Shi Tou’s complete insights into breaking through to the Innate!

After digesting the information within the light orb, Shen Yuan was taken aback and then overjoyed!

Unexpectedly, the White Jade Turtle Shell had this function, directly feeding back his son’s insights into breaking through to the Innate Realm to him!

He could feel that with these insights, only spending some days absorbing enough of the Power of Heaven and Earth, he could quickly break through to the Innate Realm himself!

”Husband, what’s wrong with you?”

Shen Yuan stood in the valley field dazed, with an involuntary silly smile, causing Hu Yufen beside him to worry.

”No... nothing.”

Shen Yuan returned to his senses and replied with a smile: ”I was thinking about what to name Shi Tou’s child when he is born.”

Hu Yufen couldn’t help but laugh after hearing this.

”There are still several months left, isn’t it a bit early to think about it now?”

”Not too early, think of one name for a boy and one for a girl.” Shen Yuan adjusted the straw hat on his head and said, ”I thought of a boy’s name, want to hear it?”

Hu Yufen paused her work, quietly watching him.

”The boy’s name will be... Shen Chongming, how is it?”

Hu Yufen pondered and said: ”Have you planned the generations for the descendants yet?”

Shen Yuan nodded: ”Literary, Exalted Virtue, Clear Purpose, Peaceful Inheritance, Admirable Talent, Great Courage, Exemplary Conduct.”

”I’ve only thought that much for now.”

Hu Yufen repeated it, thinking this generation order has good meanings, then said with a smile: ”You are the head of the family, so we listen to you.”

”Chongming it is then.”

”What if it’s a girl?”

Shen Yuan threw down the broom in hand and said with a smile: ”I leave the girl’s name up to you, I won’t worry about that.”

”Alright, the sun is too hot, go and rest for a while, I’ll handle the rest.”

By evening.

Clouds drifted in the sky, Hu Yufen suggested whether to harvest the rice tonight, but Shen Yuan refused.

Because last night’s hexagram showed that the next few days would be sunny and clear, without rain.

When the couple returned home, it was already completely dark.

Upon entering, Huang Lingxiu greeted them.

”Father, Mother, you must be exhausted. Shi Tou has already prepared the meal, please wash up and eat quickly.”

”Shi Tou is back?” Shen Yuan put down the tools on his shoulder, curiously looked into the courtyard.

At this moment, Shen Wenxing was coming out of the kitchen carrying the dishes.

”Ah Die, let’s eat first, after dinner, I’ll tell you some good news!”

Seeing his happy demeanor, Shen Yuan smiled.

This kid, acting all mysterious!

Little did he know that he already knew about his breakthrough to the Innate.

The family sat together and finished their meal, Shen Wenyan quickly left the table.

Watching his back, Hu Yufen frowned: ”This kid, his brother said there was good news to share, yet he left without listening.”

”These days, with so much work in the fields, he just stays in the backyard and doesn’t come out, it’s truly out of line!”

”Mother, don’t scold Ah Nu.” Huang Lingxiu said with a smile: ”Ah Nu has a restraining order, and he’s not lazy in the backyard, recently he’s been studying with Master Lu.”

Hu Yufen sighed upon hearing this.

Initially, letting the second son study under Lu Zhiyuan was with the hope that he would achieve academically and gain fame.

But after the Lincang incident, not to mention achieving fame, now even the opportunity to take the imperial exams is gone.

What to do going forward?

After tidying up the bowls and chopsticks, the family sat in the courtyard to relax.

”Shi Tou, what’s the good news you mentioned?” Hu Yufen lightly shook the fan and asked.

Shen Wenxing stood up and looked at Shen Yuan.

”Ah Die, I’ve broken through to the Innate!”

”Moreover, because brother joined the Immortal Sect, both the sect and the Court have given rewards.”

As he spoke, he handed the silver notes to Hu Yufen, and the Qi Nourishing Pill to Shen Yuan.

”One thousand taels!?” Hu Yufen couldn’t help exclaiming at the denomination of the silver notes!

For all these years they’ve been married, the silver coins in the home have never reached a thousand taels.

These one thousand taels of silver are a huge sum for her.

”Mother, these one thousand taels are rewarded by the Court to the Ascension Pavilion of Anyang. I can’t take it all for myself, so I rewarded over two hundred taels to the people below.”

”You’ll have to give some Current Silver to me later to make up for this money.”

Hu Yufen nodded: ”Sure, I’ll get it for you.”

”Ah Die, the Immortal originally rewarded five Qi Nourishing Pills, I ate one and with Immortal’s help, luckily broke through.”

”The remaining four are for you to arrange.”

Shen Yuan nodded.

Last time there were five Qi Nourishing Pills, still one left, plus these four, it’s five again.

In the Sea of Consciousness, the White Jade Turtle Shell has already fed back the insights from the eldest breaking through to the Innate. He’s planning to use some time to attempt a breakthrough with the Qi Nourishing Pills.

Leave one each for his wife and daughter-in-law, and the rest prepare for the future grandson or granddaughter.

In case the little one is born with talents, these Qi Nourishing Pills can give them a better foundation.

”The Immortal said, aside from the reward silver, Your Majesty might also confer rewards, estimating the Imperial Decree should arrive in these days.”

Receiving the silver from his mother, Shen Wenxing spoke again.

Upon hearing, Shen Yuan couldn’t help but feel deeply moved.

This is truly a case of one person achieving immortality bringing chickens and dogs along.

The youngest son joined the Immortal Sect, not only bringing elixir and reward silver to the family but also rewards from the Court.

Thus, the Shen Family, though not to say in Yunzhong County, at least in entire Anyang County, can be regarded as an affluent family.

Backyard.

Shen Wenyan and Lu Zhiyuan sat facing each other.

Mute and unable to write, Master Lu was accustomed to using his mouth to hold a pen to communicate with him.

[Literature carries the way, the universe is embraced]

[Inside hills and valleys, under the pen is the world]

[This is my recent insight, I call it ”Literary Heart”]

[If you can comprehend it, you may continue my teachings, create new learnings, transcend the sages]

Having written these words, Lu Zhiyuan smiled, quietly watching Shen Wenyan who was deep in thought.

Not sure if it was a misconception, or what.

When Shen Wenyan looked up, he vaguely saw a peculiar light glint in his eyes.

”Master, your eyes...”

Lu Zhiyuan faintly smiled, turned and walked towards the bed.

Shen Wenyan knew he was going to rest, so didn’t ask further, gently picked up the paper in front of him, and turned towards his own room.

Late at night, candlelight flickered.

Shen Wenyan continued examining the sixteen words in front of him.

Literature carries the way, the universe is embraced.

Inside hills and valleys, under the pen is the world.

”Literary Heart...”

”What is Literary Heart?”

He had been pondering for a long time but still couldn’t understand what Literary Heart meant.

Recalling the flash of peculiar light in Lu Zhiyuan’s eyes, Shen Wenyan slightly furrowed his brow.

After returning from the Royal City, Master Lu, having suffered cruelty, was despondent for a long time.

After revitalizing, he found Master was undergoing an indescribable change.

That change he couldn’t articulate, but just felt that compared to the Master of the past, the current Master possessed more of a glow, Returning to the Essence.

Seems like, Master had taken a large step along the ”Way” he often spoke of.

Wind blew through, and the flickering candlelight interrupted his thoughts.

He stood up, shook his head, carefully folded the paper in front of him, preparing to post it by the bedside tomorrow, observing it daily to comprehend the ”Literary Heart” Lu Zhiyuan mentioned.
