Crafting an Immortal Race with Daily Hexagrams

Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Hidden Dangers

Xu Xiu once said that the Power of Heaven and Earth in the area of the Black Water Pool is slightly more abundant than elsewhere.

Combining this with what Li Heshan and another person mentioned about spiritual energy, Shen Wenxing thought that the so-called ”Power of Heaven and Earth” around the Black Water Pool is indeed spiritual energy!

The ”Yangnao Land” they spoke of probably refers to the territory of Yu Country, and perhaps even broader, including the Western Barbarian Race.

Shen Wenxing speculated that the ”barrenness” of Yangnao Land likely didn’t refer to the soil, but to the spiritual energy of that area.

If that’s the case, if the spiritual energy at the Black Water Pool is richer than elsewhere, does it mean that the Black Water Pool is suitable for planting Spirit Seeds?

With a new house being built, managing connections to save his brother Shen Wenyan, and daily expenses to be considered.

Relying only on dozens of acres of farmland and the orchard on the mountain felt a bit strapped.

If the Black Water Pool is suitable for growing Spirit Seeds, it might be worth a try.

If successful in cultivation, Shen Wenxing estimated it would certainly yield more income than planting fields and ordinary fruit.

However, this matter should not be rushed.

It is still necessary to look at the value of these Spirit Seeds and the difficulty of cultivation.

After all, Gongyang He also mentioned that the cost of investing in Spirit Seed cultivation is too high, and if they all end up dying, it would be another big loss.

Moreover, he had to discuss this big matter with his father.

Currently, Shen Yuan and Shen Wenping are temporarily staying at Huang Yunxiao’s home.

Shen Wenxing hurried over there after staying in the Ascension Pavilion until night break.

After a simple dinner, Huang Yunxiao left.

In the courtyard, Shen Wen’an was practicing swordsmanship as usual.

In the pavilion, the father and son sat facing each other.

Shen Wenxing spoke about the Spirit Seeds.

”Ah Die, what do you think of this matter?”

Shen Yuan didn’t answer immediately.

After thinking for a long time, he said solemnly, ”This matter is by no means as simple as it appears.”

”As you said, if the Immortals claim that the entire Great Yu is lacking in spiritual energy and the Black Water Pool is rich in it, what does that imply?”

Shen Wenxing froze slightly, his brows furrowed.

”It implies... the Black Water Pool is a special treasure land?”

Shen Yuan nodded: ”An innocent man gets into trouble because of his wealth. Our family occupying the Black Water Pool, such a treasure land, if known, especially if Immortals find out, what do you think will happen?”

Upon hearing this, Shen Wenxing felt a sudden chill.

He didn’t believe that his minor relationship with the Immortals would stop them from becoming greedy.

If the secret of the Black Water Pool were exposed, and the Immortals didn’t covet it, that would be fine, but if they did, the whole Great Yu would have no one to help them.

Besides, even if the Immortals didn’t fancy the Black Water Pool, what about other families?

There are countless families stronger than theirs in the Great Yu Dynasty, and even if the Black Water Pool was legally theirs, those eminent figures would find ways to take it away if they had ulterior motives.

They might even be silenced to keep the secret.

”Then we can’t plant these Spirit Seeds.”

Not planting Spirit Seeds would mean ordinary people wouldn’t detect anything unusual about the Black Water Pool.

”No.”

”The Spirit Seeds must still be planted.”

Shen Yuan slowly stood up and said: ”If the Black Water Pool is indeed a treasure land, it’s a waste not to make good use of it.”

”It’s just that the cultivated Spirit Seeds cannot be exchanged for silver coins.”

Shen Wenxing wondered, ”Ah Die, you mean... to keep the cultivated Spirit Seeds for ourselves?”

Shen Yuan nodded: ”We must wait until after the Spirit Root testing tomorrow to decide.”

”If Wen’an can truly achieve our wish and join the Immortal Sect, then these Spirit Seeds will be of great use.”

”At that time, whether for Wen’an to use or to wait until Wen’an stands firm in the Immortal Sect before taking them out, they will be a huge treasure.”

His thoughts were similar to Shen Wenxing’s.

Of the four children, Shen Wen’an had the most hope of entering the Immortal’s doors.

If Shen Wen’an were to be found with a Spirit Root and successfully join Qiyun Valley and become a disciple there, then as long as Qiyun Valley wasn’t a Demon Cultivation Sect, it is unlikely other disciples would be allowed to rob the fellow sect family’s possessions.

More importantly, if Shen Wen’an joins Qiyun Valley and begins cultivating Immortal Techniques, he will also understand the properties of these Spirit Seeds.

If these Spirit Seeds require no special refining and can be consumed directly.

At that time, he, his wife, and other family members could take the Spirit Seeds to improve their bodies. Even if the effects aren’t remarkable, at least they can extend their lifespan.

If Shen Wen’an didn’t have the aptitude for cultivation, then these Spirit Seeds would have to remain sealed, and even if they rot away, they can’t be sold.

Until a descendant with cultivation aptitude is born in the family and understands the medicinal properties of the Spirit Seeds, they can come forth for consumption.

”Ah Die, I understand!”

Shen Wenxing said: ”Then, after tomorrow’s testing, I’ll see if I should buy some Spirit Seeds.”

Shen Yuan nodded: ”Not too much, just a trial planting for now. Over at the Black Water Pool, Uncle Ya is an expert in agriculture, with him there, it will be more secure.”

”Moreover, there is one more thing.”

Shen Yuan’s expression turned serious: ”Do you remember Xu Xiu?”

Shen Wenxing was slightly taken aback: ”I remember, what’s happened to him?”

Shen Yuan sighed: ”In the past, Yu Country had no cultivators, and Xu Xiu became self-taught. Although he has been to the Black Water Pool, he didn’t know its specific secret.”

”Now that Ascension Pavilions are being set up in every county, the secrets of cultivation will slowly become known, and I’m worried Xu Xiu might deduce the secret of the Black Water Pool.”

Xu Xiu previously only practiced based on a Breathing Technique left by an elder suspected to be an Immortal.

No one ever told him about cultivators, he simply felt the Power of Heaven and Earth was a bit denser there.

”Ah Die is worried he will leak the secret of the Black Water Pool?”

Shen Yuan didn’t speak.

His instinct told him Xu Xiu probably wouldn’t.

But gambling on human nature was not the way he operated.

The line between good and evil is thin.

”Keep a close watch while in the Ascension Pavilion, and should there be any news about Xu Xiu, inform me immediately.”

”I’ll talk to him.”

Xu Xiu’s strength was not weak, and their relationship was currently still positive.

If that could be maintained, it would, of course, be ideal.

Shen Wenxing’s expression was somewhat serious.

Xu Xiu’s strength was formidable, and if greed did arise, with their current capabilities, they truly had no way to handle it.

”Don’t be overly worried.” Shen Yuan smiled: ”Xu Xiu knew about the Black Water Pool long ago but never stayed there to cultivate, which proves either he didn’t see it as significant, or he has even better places.”

”Let’s talk about it once we see him.”

Shen Wenxing nodded, his gaze drifting to Shen Wen’an not far away.

Everything depended on tomorrow’s test.

If Shen Wen’an could pass the test and join the Immortal Sect, then all problems could be easily resolved.

”It’s late, go to sleep.”

Shen Yuan turned and patted his shoulder.

In the deep night, perhaps because the bed was unfamiliar, or due to numerous pressing matters, Shen Yuan was unable to fall asleep for a long time.

Glancing at the time reaching midnight, he immediately sank his consciousness into his Sea of Consciousness.
