Wilderness

Jeremy Night felt the presence of a Tier-5 beast among the group. A second later, he darted away from the spot.

He was rushing toward the dense green area where it would be hard for the insect beasts to reach him.

If it were one-versus-one, he could do something about it. It is a different matter when it comes to a group, especially when the group has Tier-6 Corrupted Beasts.

The Tsetse Fly Beasts spotted another prey running from them. As usual, the Tier-6 Fly beasts stayed behind while the Tier-5 and Tier-4 Tsetse Fly Beasts moved forward.

The higher-tier beasts were intelligent; it was training for their kin to chase and hunt down their prey. It was different for the Darkshade members.

Because he was a Tier-6 Beast Tamer with a Tier-6 Lifeline beast, the Tier-6 Tsetse Fly Beast had taken action and killed him on the spot.

Buzz!

Jeremy rushed through the dense forest. He could hear the buzzing sound from behind. Each second was vital, so he didn’t turn around. He even started using ”Explosive Steps” to run faster.

Two Tier-5 Tsetse Fly Beasts were taking the lead. They were flying above the dense green trees; they couldn’t fly low because of the vegetation.

But their compound eyes had completely locked onto the prey. They could tell the prey was running forward, and they were maintaining a good distance.

As long as there was open cover ahead, they would rush forward to attack. But right now, they could only follow from behind. Jeremy understood this.

That’s why he was purposely going through the dense green cover, so the beasts wouldn’t have a chance to get near him.

Swoosh!

Suddenly, he found the path ahead was sunken. He slowed his speed the next moment, then raised his blade to cut down the thick vines entangled ahead.

Buzz!

One of the Tier-5 Tsetse Fly Beasts saw it as an opportunity. Its massive body tried to get closer. The tall trees were crushed, hindering the path.

The other Tier-5 Tsetse Fly was hovering in the air above the trees; it didn’t go downward.

The Tier-5 Tsetse Fly Beast still found it difficult to reach the prey. The only option left was to continuously smash down everything along the path.

Boom!

The trees and other vegetation were forcibly swept away by the force. Jeremy, who was cutting down vines, saw this scene behind him.

His expression changed drastically. He didn’t expect one of the beasts to come down to attack him.

He immediately changed his route and left the sunken spot, trying to walk around it.

Boom!

But the Tier-5 Tsetse Fly Beast didn’t give up. It continued to raze everything along the path.

It didn’t take long for the needle-like mouthpart to get closer. If the beast pressed further, the needle would tear through his back.

Jeremy felt a huge sense of crisis. Without turning back, he knew the beast had caught up to him. He gripped the blade tightly and sidestepped suddenly.

Swoosh!

The needle-like part just missed him and pierced the empty air. Jeremy’s gaze then fell on the huge compound eyes, which were similar to his height.

Cut!

He didn’t speak. Instead, his hand moved, bringing the blade downwards. The blade’s edge was already covered in starlight thread. The blade went in easily, cleaving the needle-like part in two.

Pfff!

Blood emerged from the wounded part the next second. Jeremy sheathed his blade and disappeared into the woods.

Scream!

The Tsetse Fly Beast made a weird sound. It was heard by the other Tier-5 hovering above the trees. The beast was injured and bleeding.

It was shocking news. The other beasts following from a distance heard the cry.

The Tier-6 Tsetse Fly Beasts were the first to react. They immediately darted forward.

A few seconds later, they arrived at the spot. They saw the mouthpart of one of the Tier-5 beasts was bleeding; it was severely injured.

The Tier-6 beasts didn’t expect the weak prey to cause such an injury. They sensed the level of the prey was close to a Tier-3 Corrupted beast.

Even the weakest beasts in the group were Tier-4 Corrupted beasts, so the Tsetse Fly Beast group was confused.

Swoosh!

On the other hand, Jeremy Night was able to widen the gap. He was now more than 300 meters away from the fly beast group.

He was using the footwork method non-stop. He forgot about the mission; he was looking for a hideout now.

Since the mission had a 7-day limit, he decided to think about it later. Right now, he needed to save his own life from these insect beasts.

Boom!

Just as he was moving fast, his right foot touched weak ground. It collapsed immediately. Before he fell, he sheathed his blade.

Tud!

He landed in a deep crater. Looking around, he found a small opening. Just as he was observing the place...

Buzz!

The buzzing noise disturbed him again. This time, the buzzing noise sounded different. He immediately thought of the Tier-6 Tsetse Fly Beast. His expression changed drastically.

He stood up and entered the small opening, which seemed like a cave entrance. The mouth of the cave was just enough for his body to squeeze inside.

Buzz!

The Tier-6 Tsetse Fly Beast followed the scent of the prey before finding the collapsed ground.

The huge body of the beast hovered above the trees. The area of the collapsed ground was small compared to the size of the beast.

The huge compound eyes of the beast were scanning every inch of the ground. The scent of the prey stopped here.

The Tier-6 beast was angry; one of its kind was injured by the weak prey. The eyes continued to scan, but it didn’t find the prey.

The beast was further enraged.

Boom!

The wing-flapping sound increased. The wind force generated by the wings swept the ground. The vegetation was uprooted by the force; trees, plants, rocks, and other debris were cleared out.

But there was no sign of the prey. The opening of the cave was unintentionally covered by a fallen rock. The compound eyes of the beast failed to notice the small opening near the crater.
