5th Zone, City A

Wilderness,

The Rat Beast bolted out from the spot to attack. It moved forward like a shooting star. Jeremy’s eyes never left the beast.

Under his gaze, the speed of the beast was fast, but not difficult to observe. His eyes locked onto its weakness.

He wanted to sever the blood vessels. So, he stood in the same spot with his katana blade pointing downward, ready to cut down the blood vessels.

Swoosh!

In a flash, the Blood Rat appeared in front of him. Just as the Rat Beast’s deadly claws were about to hit him, his feet moved. His body shifted at the right moment to avoid the blow.

The claws cut through the air. The sound of air whizzed past his ear. Right at that moment, Jeremy Night’s eyes flickered. His blade flashed before driving deep into the neck.

Pfff!

This all happened within seconds.

Boom!

The next second, Jeremy felt a sense of crisis. An overwhelming aura came from the beast. He withdrew the blade and retreated.

Boom!

Before he could stabilize his footing on the ground, something slammed into his body. He felt a terrific impact force, and his body was flung backwards.

Thud!

Like a projectile, his body flew across mid-air before crashing into the ground.

Right now, the aura of the Blood Rat Beast was that of a Tier-5 beast or above. The Blood Rat Beast had used its ability and increased its energy.

It could now fight against Tier-6 Corrupted Beasts and Beast Tamers. It looked at the human Beast Tamer and was completely enraged.

Pfff!

The blade had left a hole. Blood was leaking from the hole right now.

Swoosh!

The body of the Blood Beast shifted again. It darted out towards the target. This time, the sharp claws would taste the blood of the target.

Jeremy Night felt the sense of crisis again. He didn’t dare to be careless. He stood up from the ground, his senses heightened.

He could see the beast again. He moved his blade. The blade blurred before coming into contact with something solid.

Clang!

The metallic noise sounded again.

Jeremy’s blade encountered the claws of the beast. Before the impact force could hit him, he retreated.

The impact force was neutralized. But Jeremy felt his right hand go numb. He had neutralized the force at the last moment.

If he had waited, the force would have hurt him.

Swoosh!

The Blood Rat Beast moved again and was not planning to give up. It wouldn’t rest until it tasted the blood of the human.

Jeremy Night continued to use his eye ability. The body of the Rat Beast became clear and transparent. The katana blade had injured the neck.

Yet, the Blood Rat Beast used an ability to increase its strength. He thought that ability wouldn’t last long, so he decided to block the beast’s attacks until it ran out of energy.

Swoosh!

The Rat Beast tried to attack again. His katana blade flashed to defend.

Boom!

As time went by, Jeremy used the katana blade to block the continuous attacks. The energy of the Rat Beast began to decrease.

But he had already received an impact force. From that force, he could tell that the power was not that of an average Tier-5 Corrupted Beast.

His senses were heightened. He was extremely alert. If the claw attack were to hit him, he would be in serious mortal danger.

He had already caused a massive wound on the neck of the Rat Beast. He just had to delay it longer. He knew the beast would give up eventually.

Twenty minutes later,

The Rat Beast had lost a huge amount of blood. The speed of the beast had become slower. Jeremy Night’s eyes gleamed with a twinkle.

He had a good opportunity to slay the beast. He gripped the katana blade tightly. Just as the Rat Beast slowed down because of the blood loss..,

Cut!

He swept the blade across the wound again. The blade plunged into the wound. This time, the blade severed the main blood vessels without any obstacles.

A torrent of blood gushed from the wound as he withdrew the blade.

Scream!

The Tier-5 Blood Rat Beast made a sound of pain. The next second, the Blood Rat turned around and fled.

Seeing that, he didn’t chase after it. The beast had already lost too much blood earlier. Now that he had completely severed the blood vessels, the beast would die soon.

He collected his thoughts and raised his head. The commotion would definitely alert the corrupted beasts nearby.

Swoosh!

So, he left the place. He didn’t plan to go back to the bedrock.

As time went by, he left the current area and reached another place. He had reached quite deep into the inner area.

He already felt powerful auras nearby, so he quickly found a place to rest. His current place was sunken land filled with rocks of uneven size.

Jeremy sat down on one of them. He then felt something in his chest.

A trickle of blood leaked from his mouth.

He checked his condition. His mental zone was fine. The starlight was enough; he had only exhausted a little.

Although he was able to drive away the beast with deadly injuries, he was not fully unharmed. His whole body ached now.

The Blood Rat Beast was a Tier-5 Beast. He is a Tier-2 Beast Tamer. During the clash, his body received the impact force.

Though he had avoided the direct brunt many times, some of the force still affected his body.

A quick gleam flashed in his eyes.

He knew not all corrupted beasts were the same. Some corrupted beasts had abilities. He had underestimated the Blood Rat Beast.

The earlier cut was enough to make it immobile. Yet, the Blood Rat used an ability to fight longer. At that time, the strength of the beast was many times stronger.

It wouldn’t be wrong if he said it was close to the Tier-6 Corrupted Beasts.
