STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

9th Zone, City-B

All five City Governors patiently awaited the results. They could tell that the Lords were negotiating with the Tier-8 Corrupted Beasts.

Once the deal was reached, there would be no danger for the city. Besides, they could also see the Tier-9 Lifeline beasts.

The two massive beasts gave them assurance. If the Tier-9 Beasts started fighting, they would decimate the whole area.

The two old men looked at each other. The slightly obese old man was not satisfied. He wanted more.

”Brother, it’s not enough,” he muttered.

The tall old man frowned. He contemplated whether the compensation was adequate or not. The tall old man thought that he could bargain for more.

A few minutes later, he said, ”A few months is not enough. We want a six-month peace period. During this time, no corrupted beasts from your three tribes will attack our Beast Tamers or the City.”

The tall old man wanted at least one year. However, he knew that if he demanded a year, the three beasts would go insane.

Even if they wanted to obey, their kin wouldn’t be able to help themselves; they would definitely attack the city.

The corrupted beasts heard the tall old man’s words. They were able to understand him. The six-month period was high, but it was not too bad.

”Agree to it,” the Vine Beast said.

”Yes. Let’s settle it. It won’t be good if we continue the discussion further,” the Blood Steel Mosquito added.

The Tier-8 Purple Snake felt the urgency in their words. If it didn’t act now, the Purple Snake could offend everyone.

”Okay,” the Purple Snake said. Its huge vertical eyes flickered.

The Blood Steel Mosquito and the Vine Beast relaxed.

Kee-Kee!

The Giant Brown Eagle and the Dark Green Turtle communicated with their Beast Tamers. The tall old man’s brows relaxed.

The slightly obese old man sighed in relief, though he was still not satisfied. Since the senior had spoken, he didn’t want to raise any questions again.

The tall old man nodded his head and withdrew his lifeline beast into his mental zone. The Giant Brown Eagle in the sky disappeared.

Seeing that, the slightly obese old man took back the Giant Green Turtle as well. The dark green turtle disappeared from everyone’s sight.

Now, the two old men remained standing in the air.

The three Tier-8 Corrupted Beasts relaxed as well.

”Since the deal has been reached, we are leaving. We hope you won’t go back on your word. If you do, we will be back with more reinforcements and drive you out of the wilderness,” the tall old man said in a threatening tone.

Hiss!

Hearing that, the Tier-8 Purple Snake hissed. Then, it turned towards the Blood Steel Mosquito and the Vine Beast before turning around to leave.

Swoosh!

In the blink of an eye, the Tier-8 Purple Snake was gone.

Seeing that, the Vine Beast decided it was best to leave. It was gone the next second.

Swoosh!

Only the Blood Steel Mosquito remained. Its compound eyes filled with fear all of a sudden. Seeing the two old men, it felt like they could attack the Blood Steel Mosquito at any moment.

The Blood Steel Mosquito flapped its wings. It turned around and fled towards the blood cave. In the blink of an eye, the three corrupted beasts had disappeared from the place.

The tall old man relaxed his shoulders. It was rare for Tier-9 Beast Tamers from the Human Alliance to solve a problem without a fight.

This time, it happened because the corrupted beasts were at fault. They were outnumbered as well. Because of this, the Beast Tamers had a good chance to solve the problem.

If not for the three Corrupted Beasts having special abilities, they wouldn’t have wasted time in negotiations.

If the Tier-8 Corrupted Beasts were forced into a corner, they could take down large numbers of people with them.

The tall old man said, ”Let’s go and see the City Governors first. I need to warn them.”

The slightly obese old man nodded his head.

Swoosh!

The two of them disappeared from the spot and headed towards the City Gate, where the five City Governors were waiting for them.

In a flash, the two Tier-9 Beast Tamers arrived at the city. They stood in mid-air.

The City Governors, City Captains, and City Guards saw the Tier-9 Beast Tamers. These were the two old men from the Human Alliance.

City Governor Black, Chloe, and Carl moved towards them. City Governors Lucian and Serena looked at each other.

Swoosh!

Both of them nodded to each other and followed.

In the blink of an eye, the five of them appeared in front of the two Lords.

”Lords, my name is Black. I’m one of the City Governors of City B,” Black greeted them.

Next, one after another, the City Governors introduced themselves. Lastly, Lucian made the introduction, followed by Serena.

The two Lords listened to everyone’s introduction.

The tall old man nodded his head and said, ”It’s good that the five of you are here. Especially the two from City A. You guys have done a good job.”

”This time, it is the fault of the Corrupted Beasts. So, we negotiated. The three corrupted beasts and their kin won’t appear in the wilderness for six months.”

”You guys can rebuild the city in the meantime. The Corrupted Beasts won’t break their promises; if they do, we will be back with more reinforcements,” he added in a serious tone.

Hearing that, the slightly obese old man also added, ”You guys have the primary job of monitoring the situation here. Don’t let anyone go near their hideouts.”

”It might provoke them, and they will use this as a chance to target us again,” he added.

At this time, the Commanders, City Guard Captains, and City Guards were looking at the sky. Everyone came to realize that the two old men must be Lords from the Human Alliance.

The City Governors were respectful towards the two old men. This scene was witnessed by everyone.
