STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

9th Zone, B-City

Commander Bolton tried to release a few more arrows. The black arrows swept across the sky before striking the Blood Steel Mosquito’s body.

Jeremy Night noticed that the Blood Steel Mosquito hadn’t died. So, he joined Elder Bolton and started firing shots.

Bang! Bang!

In the blink of an eye, the Blood Steel Mosquito faced another round of attacks. The arrows landed on the same spot continuously. Its hard skin cracked.

Pfff!

The powerful arrows broke the hard defense and pierced the flesh and successfully caused injuries to the Blood Steel Mosquito.

Blood gushed forth from the wounds, dyeing the ground.

At that moment, the starlight bullets drilled holes into the eyes of the Blood Steel Mosquito. The hundreds of tiny lenses had already been shattered by the previous attack.

Now, the bullets went straight to the sockets. In an instant, the sockets were pierced, and the bullets reached the brain.

Tud!

The bullets then drilled into the brain. The Blood Steel Mosquito, which was circling in the air, dropped dead to the ground.

It took a few minutes for them to kill the Tier-5 Mosquito. At that time, they didn’t notice that other Blood Steel Mosquitoes were attacking the city walls from all sides.

Some were even trying to fly over the city, but the Commanders and Captains were taking care of it.

The Governors and the heads of the various forces were standing in mid-air. They were waiting for the higher-tier beasts to come.

Earlier, it was the Purple Snakes, so they had taken risks to enter the wilderness. Now, the Blood Steel Mosquitoes had joined the fray.

Going out there now was the same as falling into a trap, so they were not going to make that mistake.

On the other hand, the makeshift hospitals were busy. The injured people were being treated. The deceased were identified and handed over to their families.

The city’s airport was receiving continuous flights. The Beast Tamers who had gone to other zones were coming back. The city needed their help.

Now that the Blood Steel Mosquitoes had appeared, it would send further shockwaves across the zones.

Meanwhile,

The Tier-7 Purple Snakes which had survived met with the Blood Steel Mosquitoes. The Tier-7 Blood Steel Mosquito had agreed to send one team earlier.

However, the Purple Snakes had managed to cause damage to the human Beast Tamers.

The Blood Steel Mosquitoes thought it was a good opportunity to cause more damage to the Beast Tamers, so they sent a few more higher-tier Blood Steel Mosquitoes.

They were enough to kill powerful Beast Tamers.

It was just that the Vine Beasts made a late appearance. If they had participated earlier, they would have trapped a few more Beast Tamer groups.

Just as the Blood Steel Mosquitoes and Purple Snakes were discussing this...

Rustle!

The Vine Beast appeared. Its elongated body wrapped around a big tree next to them.

”Vine, you were late,” the Tier-7 Blood Steel Mosquito said. ”If you had arrived earlier, we could have killed more human powerhouses.”

”Hmph, it’s not easy to deal with Tier-8 human Beast Tamers. Their strength is similar to our Lord. We can only kill them through our combined efforts,” the Vine Beast retorted.

”But the Purple Snakes made a unilateral decision to attack them. What if their Human Alliance powerhouse appears?”

Hiss!

The Tier-7 Purple Snake hissed. It was true that they made a decision without the Tier-8 Purple Snake, but the other two beasts didn’t know about it.

They were assuming that the Tier-8 Lord was behind the planning and attack. Their lords were in retreat; they didn’t know when they would emerge from seclusion.

The Tier-7 Purple Snakes launched this attack for food. Now they have obtained a few high-quality corpses of Tier-7 and Tier-8 Beast Tamers. It was enough food for them, allowing them to control their hunger for a long time.

It was time to divide the food. The Purple Snake brought up the topic.

”Let’s divide it equally,” the Vine Beast said.

”You made a late appearance and contributed little. How can you get an equal share?” the Blood Steel Mosquito said.

It was circling in mid-air, its compound eyes staring at the Vine Beast wrapped around the big tree.

The Tier-7 Purple Snake was standing between them. Seeing that the two of them were fighting, it communicated with them.

”We have lost so many lower-tier members. On the other hand, you guys are fighting about getting an equal share. Let’s divide the share after the battle,” the Purple Snake said.

Hearing that, both beasts fell silent. It was true their lower-tier members had yet to appear, but there was a reason for it.

Their population was small to begin with. It was the same for the Vine Beasts. However, the Purple Snake’s numbers had grown beyond their control.

The need for food grew, and they had started hunting the human Beast Tamers entering the wilderness earlier.

Both beasts knew about it. It was just that they didn’t know the Tier-8 Purple Snake was nowhere behind the scenes. It was simply a conspiracy of the Tier-7 Purple Snakes.

A few minutes later, under the influence of the Tier-7 Purple Snake, the Blood Steel Mosquito and the Vine Beast made a decision to send their lower-tier beasts as well.

Then they would share the corpses equally. The bodies of Tier-7 and Tier-8 Beast Tamers were important for the Blood Steel Mosquito and the Vine Beast.

In normal times, you wouldn’t be able to find them unless you wanted to enter the city to capture a few, which was seeking death. That’s why the war was necessary for them.

Now, they could hunt as many as they wanted.

Meanwhile,

Bang! Bang!

Jeremy Night’s starlight bullets ruptured the compound eyes of another Blood Steel Mosquito. Commander Bolton was helping him as well.

Instead of targeting the body, he started targeting the compound eyes too. Like them, there were very few who stayed behind. These Beast Tamers could fight across ranks.

Especially since their lifeline beasts had long-range shooting abilities, they were hindering the Tier-5 Blood Steel Mosquitoes from advancing to the city wall.
