Wilderness:

Jeremy raised his head and saw that the black cloud was nothing but the army of corrupted beasts.

”It must be flying ant beasts,” Jeremy thought.

Swoosh!

Without further thinking, he burst forth with great speed. He started fleeing towards the outer area of the wilderness.

As he continues to flee, the sense of crisis is increasing again.

”I’m getting the sense that something is following me from behind,” Jeremy thought.

My talent kicks in. My senses were heightened.

Outside,

The flying ant beasts that were flying over the sky. Their destination is the city. A few among them kept an eye on the ground.

They saw a prey fleeing in panic. He is none other than Jeremy Night.

The three flying ant-beasts suddenly dive down. They wanted to target the fleeing prey. These flying ant beasts were Tier-4 in strength.

In the blink of an eye, they have closed down the gap. They were a few metres away from Jeremy Night.

Jeremy Night, who was running forward, felt something was wrong. The sense of crisis is stronger than before. He activates his eye ability.

Slowly, he turned his gaze sideways. Then he saw the flying ant beasts coming towards him.

Seeing that he has realised he was being targeted. He unsheathed his katana blade. Then he began to cover the blade with the starlight liquid.

The blade was covered with starlight liquid in a few seconds.

Swoosh!

One of the Tier-4 ants was about to attack using its mandible. Right at that moment, Jeremy turned around and slashed at the beast.

Pfff!

The starlight-filled katana blade cuts through the head. The blood burst forth while the huge body of the ant beast fell to the ground.

Jeremy didn’t stop there. He went forward to strike the next beast. It was Tier-4 Ant as well. The blade cleaves the head into two pieces.

Pfff!

The torrent of blood gushes forth. Its huge body fell to the ground. Then his gaze fell on the third beast. Its clawed shape was about to pierce through his chest.

Fortunately, he has his eyesight. The claw’s speed was slow under his eyes. The next second, he changes the direction of the blood.

Swoosh!

He side-stepped to avoid the attack while directing the blade at the ant beast’s head.

The next moment, the sharp black claw cuts through the empty air. At the same time, the ant beast’s head comes in contact with the blade.

The starlight-filled blade penetrates into the head. The Tier-4 Ant froze on the spot. Jeremy withdrew the katana blade before continuing with the escape.

The last corpse fell to the ground. There are still flying ant beasts flying in the sky. Jeremy understood it was too late.

The invisible beast has already started. He can’t place the remaining 5 explosives. He needs to find a place to hide.

As time passes, Jeremy continues to look for the same spot. It didn’t take long for him to find a place in the underground cave. The cave is big enough for a human to get inside.

Jeremy felt it was a good place. So he entered the small space. After entering, I found that there was no space to move around.

But it’s enough for him to lie down. He then finds a couple of pieces of rocks to block the entrance.

A few minutes later,

After blocking the entrance, he takes out the digital device and finds that the signal is available. So he made a call to Leader Gisela.

He is hoping that the call will connect. Surprisingly, the call was connected the next moment.

”Jeremy Night, what happened?”

”Did you encounter any difficulties?” Gisela asked.

She knows Jeremy Night won’t call her unless there is some difficulty.

Jeremy said, ”I have completed the task at 5 sites. There are 5 more to go. But the problem is that the beast invasion has started.”

”I just saw large black clouds flying across the sky. They are moving towards the outer area. I’m sure they will reach the city sooner,” he added.

”What?”

”The beast invasion has started,” Gisela blurted out in shock.

”Yes, I just found a place to hide. If I appear outside, I will be swarmed by the army of the ant beast,” Jeremy said it again.

”Jeremy, listen carefully. If a large number of corrupted beasts are nearby you, then throw away the remaining 5 explosives,” Gisela revealed a truth.

Hearing that Jeremy’s heart was stirred.

”Leader, what are you saying?” Jeremy asked.

He realises that the Leader is saying some truth right now.

”I’m sorry, Jeremy. I didn’t explain it clearly to you. The explosives were made of new technologies. The device will activate if its sensor finds a large number of beasts nearby,” Gisela replied.

Jeremy’s eyes flickered with an understanding.

No wonder, he didn’t find any switch to activate.

”Listen, one more thing. There is no need for you to come back. Stay safe in the hideout. I’ll call you when the Beast Invasion is over,” Gisela said.

Jeremy was shocked to the core.

He said,’”Leader, how can I stay back? I want to contribute as well.”

”You were already contributing. If you come back then the Sun Wheel Organisation would do something during the battle.”

”Apart from you, there are other geniuses in the outer area as well. I believe their families would have given the same instructions,” Gisela replied.

Hearing that Jeremy understood something. This mission at first seemed like a suicidal mission. Now the mission was changed to survival.

”Okay, take care of yourself. I need to inform the Head, Neil, about this.” After saying that, Gisela ended the call.

Jeremy looked at the device before turning it off. He needs to save the battery. Since it was confirmed that he can’t leave right now.

He doesn’t want to waste the energy. After arranging everything, he leaned against the wall. He is thinking about the explosives right now.

He still has 5 explosives. But there are no beasts outside. If they found out his place, then he would use it.
