Pillar of Yita

The offensive of the Crystalysis Beasts on the battlefield had already become scattered.

At this moment, waves of voices rose one after another from the position:

”The second wave of attacks is coming!”

”The second wave of attacks is coming!”

At the edge of the Forest, blue flames once again flared up. This time, there were more Disorderly Minions, and their formation was more orderly as well. Those unique individuals Fang Hong had seen before stepped out of the Forest first, lined up in a row, then raised the short spears in their hands.

Separated by a hundred or two hundred meters, they couldn’t even clearly see the movements in the enemies’ hands, but in the Vision of the Clockwork Fairies, this scene was exceptionally clear.

”Watch out for projectiles!” Fang Hong shouted.

”If any Spellcasters are below Level seventeen, I recommend using Multiple Shields.” Tang Xin quickly added. She didn’t really want to bother with these people, but since it was her brother commanding, she didn’t want Fang Hong’s image in front of outsiders to have even the slightest flaw

—Though there might already be plenty of flaws.

Having received the warning in advance, Gita lifted her hands from the Magic Guided Book and raised a hexagonal mesh Shield. The Big Cat People also threw out a Holy Shield. At this moment, those strange Disorderly Minions stepped forward in unison, hurling their short spears with all their Strength.

Several Shields flickered to life over the left-wing position at the same time. The ghostly blue Shields, at the instant they unfolded, rippled violently—short spears howled across the sky over the battlefield, smashing into them and finally turning into a spray of Crystal dust.

But the teams that failed to raise their Shields in time fared miserably. Quite a few people were sent flying by Crystal short spears punching straight through them, or even skewered several people in a row, setting off patch after patch of white Light representing resurrection across the position.

With a single glance, Fang Hong saw that Invokers had lost at least twenty to thirty people in this volley, but more than half of those white Lights were shooting toward the center of the Grey Forest, and he couldn’t help but feel relieved at the sight.

It seemed that money truly moves the heart. For these people to choose to resurrect here at this time, their sole purpose was obviously the rewards offered by the Tree People.

This was the first time he felt that Cuiye pulling others into the channel had been a wise move. On a battlefield like this, only caring about one’s own party was meaningless; if the skin is gone, to what can the hair attach—if the casualties on other fronts were too severe, the Seven Seas Travel Group would face the pressure all the same.

Still, all the teams suffered varying degrees of casualties. On one hand, they had underestimated the power of the enemy’s Throwing Spears; on the other, some people only half-believed Fang Hong’s words and chose not to follow them.

As for the Seven Seas Travel Group, they naturally trusted their Captain unconditionally. The two layers of Shields blocked the vast majority of the Attack; out of over a dozen long spears, only one pierced through a Shield, and the Lion Paladin casually knocked it aside with a single sword stroke.

Cuiye’s voice sounded again in the channel: ”Whoa, whose voice was that just now? That beauty was way too clutch; we totally relied on you and the big shot’s warning. Oh right, is she your wife?”

Tang Xin’s face went completely Qing as she gripped the Communication Crystal and enunciated each word: ”I—am—his—younger—sister.”

”Oh, oh, my bad, my bad.”

Fang Hong glanced at her a bit guiltily, but happened to meet Hilveld’s smiling gaze. For a moment he felt slightly embarrassed and scratched his hair.

Of course he could tell that the other party was exaggerating on purpose to help him establish authority—or rather, to reinforce the advertising effect. Only if he displayed absolute Strength would the other teams be willing to share benefits with them.

He was almost certain that guy was definitely taking a cut somewhere in there.

Of course, Fang Hong himself didn’t care too much about that bit of profit—well, fine, he did care a little—but by comparison, integrating all the Strength on the left-wing defensive line was far more in line with the current interests of the Seven Seas Travel Group.

More than profit, what he cared about was keeping the risk controllable.

After a single volley, the offensive of the Disorderly Minions returned to its earlier rhythm.

Only this time, their numbers were greater than before, a dark mass of them surging forward, while the Disorderly Minions who had thrown their spears did not advance after hurling the long spears. Instead, they remained at the edge of the Forest.

And they soon turned around and walked back into the Forest. Only a moment later, when they reappeared, Fang Hong noticed that those Spear Throwers had short spears in their hands again.

This immediately drew Fang Hong’s attention. ”Keep an eye on those Spear Throwers,” he reminded them. ”They’ve reloaded their ammo; there may be follow-up attacks.”

”We’ve got to figure out a way to take those things out. If we let them Attack endlessly like this, we won’t be able to bear the casualties.” In the channel, the various Captains started discussing as well.

”At that distance, only Rangers can reach them, but we’ve got far too few Rangers compared to the enemy. Two or three focusing fire might not even be enough to instantly kill one, and that’s assuming they even hit.”

”The only way is to push the line forward, extend the Gunslingers’ firing range. That’ll require Magic Guided Conductors to open up the battlefield and contacting the Tree People to push forward as well. They’re the real main force.”

”I’ll try to get in touch with them,” Cuiye spoke up again at this point. ”I know their Elder, but the Magic Guided Conductors have to maintain the Shields, so we need to figure out their attack intervals first.”

”Leave that to me,” Fang Hong replied.

”Then we’ll be counting on you, big shot.” Everyone responded in unison. After the previous round of attacks, no one doubted Fang Hong’s ability anymore.

Fang Hong didn’t hesitate. With his right hand, he pressed down several buckles on the back of his harness one after another. The Clockwork Fairies hanging there dropped off one by one, then, under the control of his left hand, took to the air with Flapping wings and hovered in midair.

To avoid drawing attention, he had the Clockwork Fairies fly low along the ground into the distance, then rise up and head toward the distant Forest. The process was so covert that hardly anyone noticed what was happening.
