A New Life in Fairy Tail

Yes, Wendy-kun’s Enchantment magic is not weak, and the effects are perfect for this situation, Noah agreed.

We are counting on you, Wendy-kun, Ultear said.

I understand! Wendy-kun stood with her feet shoulder-width apart, clasping her hands and extending them forward. A magic circle unfolded beneath her feet as her magic power surged, causing her long twin-tails to float and bob in the air.

Enchantment: Attack Power Double!

Enchantment: Speed Double!

The magic circle expanded under everyone’s feet. Instantly, they felt lighter, and power coursed through their bodies.

Amazing! I feel so much lighter! Lucy tested her movements, marveling at how easy it was to move quickly.

Of course! Wendy-kun’s Enchantment magic is incredible. It makes everyone stronger! Carla bragged proudly from the side.

Since Wendy-kun has buffed everyone, let’s move out, Noah commanded.

Yeah! Everyone shouted in unison.

Natsu stomped the ground and charged up the stairs first, with everyone following close behind.

BOOM!

Before they even cleared the stairs, Noah saw an explosion at the doorway, sending dust billowing down the stairwell.

Careful! There are a lot of Magic Soldiers outside! Gray, who had rushed out with Natsu, shouted back.

Noah waved his hand forcefully. The magic pressure generated a powerful gust of wind that blew all the dust out of the stairwell.

When he stepped out, he saw Natsu and the others already engaging the Black Magic Cult’s Magic Soldiers.

These soldiers were clearly trained. They used their staffs to launch coordinated volleys of magic bullets at Natsu’s group, using the surprise attack at the door to momentarily push them back.

Heaven’s Wheel: Blumenblatt!

Erza didn’t waste words. She Requipped instantly. Countless swords danced behind her before streaking through the air, cutting down the soldiers in a flurry of slashes.

Gah!

A large number of soldiers were struck by the flying swords and fell instantly.

Sunlight Angel!

An angel appeared beside Sorano-san. It opened its mouth, gathering intense light before firing a beam at the soldiers.

BOOM!

A massive explosion erupted in the middle of the enemy formation. The shockwave blasted soldiers away in all directions.

Seeing Erza and Sorano-san attack without hesitation, Noah sighed internally. Given their pasts with the cult, it was natural they would show no mercy to their enemies. He wouldn’t stop them; the Black Magic Cult deserved no sympathy.

Suddenly, Noah sensed an attack aimed at him. He jumped to the side, dodging an orange rope that shot past where he had been standing.

Wendy-kun reacted the fastest, also dodging the rope.

However, Lucy, Yukino-kun, Meredy-kun, Happy, and Carla were too slow. The ropes bound them instantly, rendering them immobile.

Lucy!

Natsu reacted instantly, rushing toward her.

But before he could take more than a few steps, countless square blocks flew at him at high speed. He was forced to dodge left and right to avoid being hit.

At the same time, Gray, Erza, and the others also came under attack from these blocks, which, combined with the soldiers’ magic fire, momentarily suppressed them.

A boy with yellow hair and brown skin quickly approached the bound Lucy and the others, extending his hands toward them.

Sky Dragon’s Wing Attack!

Wendy-kun waved her arms, sending a blast of wind directly at the boy.

The yellow-haired boy wanted to cast a spell, but seeing Wendy-kun’s attack right in front of him, he was forced to jump away.

Seeing him retreat, Wendy-kun sighed in relief. He clearly intended to cast something, so stopping him was the best move.

Suddenly, an orange rope silently wrapped around her left wrist. As she tried to move, the rope yanked her forward, causing her to stumble toward the ground.

Wendy-kun pushed off the ground to jump back up, intending to cast a spell, but realized she couldn’t.

Wh-What is happening? Why can’t I use magic?! Wendy-kun panicked.

She looked at the rope on her wrist. Is it because of this?

She tried to pull it off, but several more ropes flew in from the side, binding her completely.

Wah!

Wendy-kun fell to the ground, tied up like a bundle, squirming alongside Lucy and the others.

The yellow-haired boy ran back to the helpless group, extending his hand again to cast his spell.

I won’t let you succeed.

Noah dodged several ropes flying at him and closed the distance in a flash. With a single punch, he slammed the boy into the nearby wall.

The boy was embedded deep into the stone, cracks radiating outward from his body.

Gah!

The boy spat blood and coughed violently.

Sho!

A girl’s voice cried out. Noah looked over.

He saw a young girl with brown hair styled in two cat-ear buns and triangular markings on her cheeks looking anxiously at the boy Noah had just smashed into the wall.

BOOM!

A massive explosion sounded in the distance, sending a gust of wind toward them. The girl involuntarily looked in that direction.

Distractions are dangerous, Noah’s voice said right beside her. Startled, she turned to find Noah already standing next to her.

Cat Restraint Tube!

The girl extended her hand toward Noah, and an orange rope shot toward him.

Noah waved his right hand. A blast of magic wind deflected the rope easily.

No way!

Seeing her magic deflected with a bare hand, the girl was clearly frightened.

Go to sleep.

Noah raised his hand. Solidified light formed a giant palm that slammed down on her.

BAM!

The girl was instantly flattened against the ground, leaving a shallow palm print in the floor. She lay unconscious in the center of the print, surrounded by cracks. Noah had held back, ensuring he didn’t accidentally kill her.

Noah, help us get untied! Lucy shouted, seeing that Noah had defeated both enemies.

She, Yukino-kun, and Meredy-kun had tried untying each other but found the ropes too tight, and with their magic sealed, they were helpless. Seeing Noah free, they called for him immediately.

Coming.

Noah walked over.

Getting captured so easily... even with a surprise attack, you should have done better, Noah shook his head at them. Lucy and the others blushed in embarrassment.

He extended his right hand. Solidified light formed a blade in the air. Slash, slash! With a few precise cuts, Noah severed the ropes binding them.

There. You’re free.

Lucy, Wendy-kun, and the others stood up and stretched their limbs.

I can use magic again! Wendy-kun formed a small whirlwind in her hand, then dispelled it by clenching her fist.

Those ropes had a magic-sealing effect. Once bound, you couldn’t cast spells, Noah explained. He had analyzed the ropes while cutting them.

So that’s it.

Lucy and the others understood. They then turned to look toward Ultear and the main group, where the massive explosion had just occurred.

They saw that Ultear and the others had also defeated their enemies and were walking over.

Earlier, Erza, Natsu, and the others had been briefly suppressed by the sudden barrage of blocks and soldier attacks.

Fire Dragon’s ROAR!

Ice-Make: Lance! x2

Heaven’s Wheel: Blumenblatt!

Sunlight Angel!

Dark Spark!

Realizing they were being pinned down and needing to hurry, Ultear and the team unleashed their ranged attacks simultaneously.

Before, they hadn’t been serious, which allowed the soldiers and blocks to suppress them. Now that they were serious, the result was entirely different.

BOOM!

A massive explosion engulfed the area. The shockwave sent countless soldiers flying through the air.

Gaaah!

A figure dressed differently from the soldiers was also caught in the blast and landed on the floor nearby.

Since they had attacked, they intended to finish things quickly. The combined explosion had heavily damaged most of the soldiers, leaving only a few stragglers, whom the team quickly knocked out.

This guy is different. Let’s bring him over, Erza said, looking at the uniquely dressed person on the ground after dispatching the soldiers.

Mhm. It looks like there are two non-cult members over by Noah too, Ultear noted.

Erza dragged the unconscious man over to join Noah’s group.

Whoa, why is this guy so... square?! Lucy commented bluntly upon seeing the man Erza brought back.

Lucy-nee, that’s not very nice to say... Wendy-kun chided gently.

Lucy shook her head and pointed at the man. But look at him! Isn’t he literally square?!
